Underrated Masterpiece

I like how RealityEnsues with the revelation that Shrek is now next in line and should be king. I find JustinTimberlake’s dweebish teenaged parody of KingArthur to be funny. I loved the revelation that Queen Lilian is a BadassNormal because “you didn’t think you got your fighting skills from your father, did you.” I like how Pinocchio confuses Charming with his double negatives. I like that they actually built upon Shrek2 asking Shrek about the children. I like how it continues Prince Charming’s villainy from the previous film. I like how Charming is the first villain in the franchise who is actually defeated by Shrek. I find EricIdle’s portrayal of Merlin funny. And his switching Donkey and Puss in Boots. I like how Shrek has to become a father figure to Artie to prepare for becoming an actual father. I like how in the end Artie gets Charming’s followers to perform a Face-Heel Turn by convincing them of the FantasticAesop of being more than what your fairy tales write you off as, a major theme of both Shrek and Shrek2. All in all, this a great film regardless of what the naysayers claim.

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree.

I\'ve always thought this movie was funny, but I also agree with everyone who points out how flawed it is. It\'s great if you\'re a kid who just wants to watch something silly and action-y, less so as an adult who care about things like lore and depth.
