Why is there no Crowning moment of Heartwarming page? Between the subtle character development that's been series long, the Santa episode and last weeks episode you'd think there would be enough for a page by now. Is there a reason that a page hasn't been created yet?
Hide / Show RepliesWe don't make CMOA pages anymore, but we do Awesome/ pages.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHuh. I'm a little surprised by that. Is it because what constitutes a CMOH is subjective? Or was there just an internal decision to do away with it?
Yes, it was renamed to Awesome.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDoes Cassandra really qualify as a Karma Houdini? She didn't exactly get away with her betrayal without any repercussions, what with Jake saying through most of the season that he doesn't trust her.
Do we really still need to mark the sealing of the Library and Cassandra's betrayal as spoilers? I mean, both of these occurred in the pilot.
Hide / Show RepliesIt really does fall into the First-Episode Spoiler category by now (even if the library technically disappears in the second episode). Now that season 1 is over, I think it's safe to unmark it.
Removed the following
- Expy:
- Carsen has turned into an Eleventh Doctor expy, complete with tweed jacket and bow tie.note
- More notably, the L.I.T.s are Expys of the three young team members of Leverage. Considering how much of the behind-the-scenes staff is the same, it's to be expected.
- Ezekiel: playful with oodles of charm and skill, with an ego to match both, a la Hardison complete with hacking skills but he also demonstrates Parker's enthusiasm for a heist. He's essentially Parker and Hardison's love child.
- Cassandra: a petite woman with mental illness, yet is still the top of her field. Of course, that illness plays a role in why she's the top of her field, and out of it, she's hopeless, much like Parker.
- Jacob Stone: looks like nothing but Dumb Muscle from the south, but is one hell of a Genius Bruiser, in the vein of Elliot. To top it off, both Jacob and Elliot are played by Christian Kane.
While these are interesting similarities to Leverage, and probably not entirely coincidental, the characters are different enough that they certainly aren't expies, more like shout-outs. Cassandra is only similar to Parker in these broad strokes, their personalities and skillsets are completely different. Similarly, Stone is a lot smarter than Elliot, but not nearly as good in a fight, and has none of Elliot's personality.
Carsen, might be referencing Doctor Who, but that doesn't make him an expy. Also, it could just be the natural evolution of the already easily excited Librarian with 10 years of experience.
Does Cassandra's entree in Refusal of the Call really count as such? She didn't really turn down the opportunity so much as miss it due to be incapacitated. So its not so much like she refused the call so much as she was at the other end of the house and didn't get to the phone in time. What do you guys think?
Hide / Show RepliesI agree it's pretty forced. I tried to modify it a little to make it fit, but it wasn't a good job. Just take out the first line if you're going to cut it out.
Does anyone remember the exact speech that Flynn gave at the end of the first episode, I can only remember enough to paraphrase.
The Annex is specifically said to be located somewhere in Oregon by Flynn. Is that enough to put "The Other Rainforest" down as a trope?
Hide / Show RepliesMaybe, although I wouldn't count an offhand mention.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhen they emerged from the door, it was a pretty sparse forest. I wouldn't include "The Other Rainforest" until there are dense trees, or some monster living in them.
Although I put it in WMG does the Lit trio count as a Fighter Mage Thief trio
