Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

openWMG on recap page Live Action TV
I noticed M*A*S*H S3 E21: Big Mac. Are WMG pages allowed on recaps?
The only entry is also just a link to a discussion about who played a character.
openDisambiguate a redirect? Literature
I wanted to make redirects for the individual books in The Southern Reach Trilogy. The second book is titled "Authority" and there is a comic book titled "The Authority".
Should the redirect be Authority 2014? Or is just Authority fine since it doesn't have "The" in its title?
Also, the omnibus edition is titled "Area X" even though the series is still known as "The Southern Reach Trilogy". There's already an unrelated Visual Novel titled Area X, so is Area X 2014 even worth a redirect?
Edited by PrimisopenColored text
Is colored text supposed to be working on the wiki? I thought it was disabled due to causing Sensory Abuse, but I found some by chance and created a sandbox page to confirm it.
openCreating a Boruto Character page
Currently, all the characters from Boruto are listed under Naruto The New Era, as such the page is growing very big.
I had proposed on the discussion on the New Era page to create a separate character page for Boruto with all necessary subpages. Only troper mouschilight seconded the proposal. But, at this stage I think that most editors wouldn't object on doing so.
So if I'm not mistaken about the latter, the first order of business would be to eliminate the redirect of the character page link of Boruto into the character page of Naruto, so how can you remove that redirect?
Edited by matruzopenPlayStation Access thread
Can anyone explain why the thread for Play Station Access in New Media was locked?
openFormatting titles
I'm adding the play "Seascape" to the "Theatre" folder in the "Lizard People" trope in order to create a link to the play's own TV Tropes page. Even though I typed - Theatre/Seascape - with the double apostrophes on either side it just displays - Theatre/Seascape - and not a link to the play's TV Tropes page...what am I doing wrong?
Edited by MiscweantopenDiamond No Ace/Ace Of The Diamond Anime
Can somebody redirect or merge from Diamond no Ace to Ace of the Diamond?
openChronic rudeness from a troper Videogame
So, I went ahead and deleted a Walking Spoiler misuse on Characters.Sekiro Main Characters, and while I admit that I should just have kept the edit reason to a bare minimum, is this kind of null edit reason necessary?
- Reason: Hi, My name is Ano Baka Desu, and I'm a huge asshole who loves to bully people. I'm also the pettiest pos ever.
And Gene 0129's own description at the moment:
- Shout out to ABD for being the biggest dickhead ever, with the worst case of "I'm better than you/Holier-Than-Thou" syndrome.
openUnfaithful religious group, clergyman murdered his wife? Web Original
Right... Strange one but its driving me mental, can anyone help me identify this TV show I want to watch again, I think it was on Netflix. It was about a religious group that had a small church and this guys wife goes missing and the group sets out to start looking for her, eventually they find her murdered up some mountain (its snowy), this investigator tries to work the whole thing out, eventually works out that some wooden fence post things are similar to what this guy has in his car boot and they catch the husband who did it... They also work out he'd scratched one side of his car on some shrubbery because of the way he drove? What is it? (Oh and the clergy people are having affairs with each other, the group's leader's wife is having it away with the murderer).
openInvoked tropes
On Linkara's History of Power Rangers, many of the tropes that would be YMMV are invoked. I recently read on the invoked page that only In-Universe examples are permitted on main works pages and not invoked ones. Does that mean that the YMMV tropes need to be given an In-Universe label and have the invoked part removed. I added the invoked part to other pages that weren't YMMV and I think I need to do some cleanup given what I just learned.
openSomething about defining in TLP
It's about this draft.
The draft maker apparently insists that the definition follows something specific (in this case, being an Always Female trope that shows femininity) when many commenters note that (especially way back then) the meaning isn't only (or always) that way.
Since it's his draft, I might understand if he would have some veto over which direction his draft's going to gonote other "directions", if they can be tropes, could possibly be in other drafts, but what if many of the commenters are against him?
I don't know how to resolve it so I ask it here.
openRedundant Troping?
Is it okay for a trope to be linked to in an example of said trope? For example:
- Cosmic Horror Story: While the series had always been macabre, it becomes a full-on Cosmic Horror Story once the Greater-Scope Villain shows up.
openAdorkable misuse
Just to ask, it's not a big deal, but it seems like many characters who are not dorky or awkward in any way are apparently "adorkable" A lot of examples are just "he/she looks cute in that scene" even if the character normally doesn't fit the trope. The same problem with Moe, but at least it's a YMMV trope.
Should adorkable just apply to awkward/dorky characters and remove all the "he/she has his moments" examples?
openTrope aversions
Hello, once again. I have a quick question regarding the use of trope aversions: should aversions only be listed for Omnipresent Tropes? Just wanted to be sure. Thanks.
Edited by gjjonesopenStar Trek Trope
Is there a forum thread one should take a concern on the usage of a trope on a Star Trek recap page, or just bring it up here?

isn't Ursula the name of the girl that was to George what Mary Jane was to Peter Parker?
