Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I'll admit a lot of that drama was funny, but it does promote an attitude of popcorn posting that the mods are trying to discourage. The link to the Gay TLP is a definite no-no because it's banned from mention on the Funny.TV Tropes page, so linking to it on a troper page while effectively praising the trolling is probably bad as well.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.^ So should we message them to remove the link to Gay?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.FWIW, don't be too worried about checking out troper pages; I do it too. It's a fun way to get to know people.
This does seem to be crossing the line a bit.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenesssorry, if the Gay TLP is verboten (or really just the whole section) i'll just remove it. i just find people with a mind-boggling lack of self awareness funny (mostly stemming from wannabe cyberbullies from MM Os making themselves look stupid).
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018^ Feel free to save a private copy of that stuff to look back upon if it makes you laugh. I think the issue is just drawing attention to it on the wiki proper.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.now i'm reminded of why most subreddits have a "no witch-hunting" rule. humor aside, some people will go too far with vigilantism against bullshitting rule-breakers (what most of that list was, admittedly), and i really don't wanna perpetuate that.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018Yeah, plus we don't want to inadvertently inspire more people to act the way we did on the draft. It's a wiki-wide Old Shame for a reason.
Thanks for being so chill about this, btw. Some people get really defensive over this stuff.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenesswell, it'd be hypocritical of me to get defensive over making fun of defensive people.
is there any way to remove that list from the page's history, if it's really that awful to post about?
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018One way is to make a bunch of null edits until it's gone from view, but I don't think it's possible to erase it completely. I wouldn't stress about it that much anyway.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenesswell, if you say so...
thanks again OP for pointing this out, i really didn't realize how rude i was being.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018^ No problem.
Divine Flame: you don’t have to feel guilty for reading troper pages. They are intended to be public (the public ”bio” of the troper).
Edited by GnomeTitanAt least that went well. No mod intervention required.

I hate to be that one person who pries on other people's troper pages (they're open for public viewing so I sometimes take a look to see what interesting stuff they have), but Freecom's troper page is raising some eyebrows. Specifically the part that reads "The (weird) idiotic side of TV Tropes", which lists a few of the ATT reports on infamous issues that were already resolved just for their humor value. One of the links even leads to the infamous Gay TLP that got nuked following the incident. Is this straying too far into rudeness territory?
