Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
^How much, if any, of the comic was archived?
I looked at the internet archive, and it only has one page.
Denied it, anyway. A lot of research needs to be made before we can say "t may indeed be lost media that we can't trope anymore"
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSee, part of the reason I don't like the policy of deleting pages for works that no longer exist is that it can be used to circumvent The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours. If a creator of an online work wants a page on their Old Shame gone, they can just delete it (particularly on FF.net which uses robots.txt so the Wayback Machine can't capture it), and then request the page be cut because the work is "lost".
Keet cleanupEh. I mean, let's be real. It's fanfiction. While I don't like the idea of people trying to circumvent the rules like that, we don't lose much from not having the page.
We could always treat it the way we treat unpublished RP pages and kick it to Unpublished Works.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^^ Off-topic, but the Wayback Machine no longer respects FFN's robots.txt request. Not sure why, precisely, but it's convenient for us.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Technically the policy isn't "remove pages for works that no longer exist", it is "remove pages for works that cannot be verified". It's a subtle difference, but this policy is to prevent "It totally existed, I swear! Someone must be trying to scrub all traces of it from the internet!" — I prefer it where we can remove articles about non-existent works. If that means people who are dedicated enough to Un-person a work can get that article deleted, that's an acceptable loss.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Honestly, I don't think it's even really a problem that it can lead to people 'circumventing' the rules. While the whole "wait, once I make something available for people to read it's actually out there?" attitude baffles me, it's not like wiki policy is intentionally designed to spite creators. We're just trying to trope what we can see.
Edited by nrjxll..so, I searched it up and turns out, it still exists.
artsy geek | any pronouns | "well, if you're hearing this, then chances are you've made a very poor career choice."I feel like the debate about lost media vs. Old Shame works that the creator tried to delete off the internet vs. unverifiable works should be in Wiki Talk, not here.
Yeah, this is drifting offtopic. Closing.

Webcomic.Doodleland Comics was just cutlisted by Lelene019, who is apparently unaware that The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours. That said, the comic was taken down according to the cut reason, and the link to it doesn't work, so it may indeed be lost media that we can't trope anymore.
