Yeah, that's Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, alright, as well as being a Justifying Edit. Cut it.
Edited by Dacool1hereIt's under Memetic Mutation, btw.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo, LGBT+ cops can’t exist, what?
Yea, take a chainsaw to it, and burn it to the ground for good measure.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!That's... not a meme? In addition to the complaining, optionated language. Noting that LGBTQ+/police tensions and history of police perpetrating violence are real thing and complaining about characters that are both police and LGBTQ+ isn't exactly a meme.
But stuff along the lines of "Disney's seventh first LGBTQ+ character! What will their one line of dialogue be?!" has been running wild around Tumblr.
^^ Nobody tell these people about that old Lesbian Cop trope, I guess... We cut it, but it did exist.
And yeah, as far as memes go, this ain't one.
Edited by WarJay77 Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBefore my time, but I can think of some and guess it was cut for People Sit on Chairs type reasons, or lacking any distinguishing traits besides "is lesbian" and "is a cop"?
I forgot to note the mutation: people declaring themselves Disney's first/next openly LGBTQ character.
Older Than They Think, if that mentioned character isn't the first?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Is that character even confirmed as LGBTQ? Considering that the original tweet isn't from an official Disney source, I find it dubious. Especially considering how the pre-release buzz of previous Disney movies claiming that the upcoming flick WILL feature the first LGBT character turn out to be bust.
Reviewers who've seen the movie early have confirmed she does have a line where she talks about her girlfriend's daughter, so it's safe to assume that yes she is indeed LGBT+.
I actually agree with the overall sentiment (Disney hasn't exactly been at the forefront of LGBT representation AND police brutality against LGBT is an issue thing) but that's hardly Memetic Mutation, and shouldn't be on the page for an upcoming work.
deku_link edit warred and added the first subbullet back.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Kill It with Fire. Police brutality against LGBT people doesn't mean LGBT police officers are somehow offensive.
Keet cleanup^ And even if it did, that wouldn't make this a meme.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOh yea, nobody pointed out the natter in this entry. The contents of the entry kind of just set me off so I didn’t realize it at first.
Should deku_link be tapped?
Edit: I also should’ve mentioned earlier that you could’ve taken it to the Memetic X Cleanup thread.
Edited by PlasmaPower Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Besides, mentioning real-life police brutality probably goes against the ROCEJ anyways.
It wasn't an edit war on my part. I did not add the parts about her being a cop, I was just adding the entry in as neutral a way as possible. A majority of the memes that have made the rounds on twitter (like the one I provided) mocked her for her physical appearance.
When in doubt, spit deku nuts.^ You added the original bullet about the meme, someone deleted it, then you added it back. That's an Edit War.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I did not see it as such because by the time my bullet had been deleted it had been edited several times by others with irrelevant information tacked on. I apologize if this was obstructive.
When in doubt, spit deku nuts.
Is it just me, or does this have a bit of complaining?
From YMMV.Onward:
It calls the character "ugly", and it claims that Disney is "cheap" and "rehashed". I think this is really bashy.
