I've never heard of that show so I'm speaking in general terms here:

Forgive me from being blunt but I would in no way call a Twitter essay from an Ex-Channel Awesome personality credible citation for this trope. Especially with just how much the entire Change the Channel debacle called into the question the credibility and reputations of almost everyone ever involved with the site.

Yeah, I don’t think it counts for the same reasons tumblr posts don’t count: anyone can post it, including the example-writer.

Yes, in the general sense I agree with the above. But what is the poster is verified to be a big-name person?

If they're a big name person, then I'd think their citation should likely be available someplace other than Twitter.
