First, who's "The figure" (unless that's their actual name, that renders the entry a ZCE) and isn't Nuts and Bolts old enough now we'd know if it was a Franchise Killer? If nothing else I'd think their appearance in Smash Bros suggests they aren't quite dead yet.
Edit: nevermind the first question, didn't realize this was the character page (it's in the entry for L.O.G.)
Edited by sgamer82This reads like an entry for The Scrappy put onto an objective page. Unless L.O.G. was specifically designed to be despicable to the audience, it's not an example.
^ The entry suggests that L.O.G. was created for the specific purpose of annoying the player. This prevents him from being The Scrappy, as this only defines characters who are unintentionally hated.
On the other hand, the page for Hate Sink clearly states that "Other characters have to truly hate them in-story. Otherwise, it's not this trope." As the entry does not mention whether L.O.G. is hated in-universe, I believe this trope is being misused.
I'm not familiar with the game, but it says "The figure single-handedly responsible for everything fans of the franchise complain about in his game of origin", which sounds like it's more about audience hatred.
The primary concern of a Hate Sink is whether the character was intentionally written to be despised, and treated by the narrative as such, with negative traits to back it up.
The above does not explain how the character fits the criteria at all, and is therefore Zero Context at best, misuse at worst. Cut it.
Rawr.I have not played the specific game LOG appears in, but as far as I'm aware he's not there to be a target of hatred. The intended shtick as I understand it is that he claims responsibility for the Scrappy Mechanics of the series as a joke — Rare is known to do self-deprecating humor.

Found this entry in Banjo-Kazooie but looks a bit shoehorned
