I admit I got some inspiration from the recent commander decks, so I decided to strike out and make my own iteration for the Phasing Mechanic. It really piqued my interest.

• Reality Weave 2WU
• Enchantment - Aura
• Enchant creature you control.
• During the upkeep of the controller of the creature ~ is attached to, the Enchanted creature Phases out.
• When the Enchanted creature Phases in, put 2 +1 / +1 counters on that creature.

• Glimmering Sky Hunter 2UU
• Creature - Drake
• During your end step, you may have ~ Phase out.
• When ~ Phases out, draw 1 card.

• When ~ ETB, you can Phase out 2 creatures you control, then add 1 noncreature card from your graveyard to your hand.

Oooh. You should also add a Transform mechanic when enough counters are added, signifying what happens near the end where Stormbringer kills Elric after it doesn't need him anymore and becomes a demon.

I guess that'd make it a rehash of Withengar, Unbound.

Also, I forgot that colored Artifacts were a thing.

I always felt Nightstalkers were a neglected tribe, so I wanted to give them some semblance of a theme. Discard I figured worked.

Thoughts on the additions?

As embodiments of black mana, they should have mechanics tied to sacrifice of all kinds. Whether it's discarding cards, giving up life, etc.

The problem is coming up with something that isn't already covered by other mono-Black creatures. Paying Life is already the Demons' thing, for example.
