TLP workstation thread

That's a terrible idea. The point of the hats and bombs is for people to show their opinions on that specific draft. You can't just transfer your draft to a different one to get a better vote count. That's entirely unfair to everyone else.

If your draft can't get enough support on its own merit, it shouldn't be launched.

@Malady, I'm not sure if that would be completely ban-worthy but it would certainly land you in hot water. Just don't do it, you'll be just asking for trouble if you did.

The "things that aren't illegal but feel they should be". You'd be majorly changing a draft that already has votes in it and that's really not how the system works. Not to mention you're nuking the draft you've adopted for the sake of launching your own faster. Just nuke Time Title instead and overhaul Timespan Title perhaps.

- Nuking Timespan because that was the one I didn't make... It's supposed to be covered by Time in general, since timespan (generic) vs timeframe (specific) isn't important enough of a distinction?

Like how The Place doesn't differentiate between Location Being Sought vs. Location Story's Set.

So to be clear, you have a draft of a time title trope. There is an already existing abandoned draft of a time title trope / index in the TLP that was started in 2014, added to a bit over the next 5-6 years, before you adopted it. And you adopted it because it is related to and potentially different from the trope you wanted to make.

What you plan on doing now is nuking the older draft you adopted some months ago, to focus more on the time title draft you are working on as you believe that the old one is now obsolete given the new one you are proposing. is that correct?

if that's the case, then i'd recommend only nuking the older draft if / when your draft goes through. or if you do nuke it, add it to the trope salvage yard upon nuking until your proposal goes through.

I'd like some more feedback on my Queer Romance Phase TLP. It's part of a TRS effort that's splitting Schoolgirl Lesbians into two tropes (with neither taking the name), and I'd prefer it to be as high quality and with as many examples as can be reasonably managed.

Just a question: what should I do if I don’t have anything to add to a TLP draft, but I already bumped it once? My draft Good Behavior Points hasn’t gotten a new example in 2 months, and I’m not sure what to do with it.

Bumping is generally acceptable if the draft has sunk a few pages from the top, as long as it's not frequent to annoy more regularly updated drafts (the norm is no more than once per day, but I'd give a week or two for politeness). Also while not really legal, I see some people use YKTS and discussion forums to stealth-fish examples. Then, of course, you can try to wick-walk related tropes and research works that may have what you're looking for yourself.

Or, since the draft has that many hats and it looks acceptable enough, you can just launch it (with procedures), maybe it's about time to stop writing it. Being on the main page is also one of the fastest ways to summon wiki magic.
