This thread is for quick questions. A "quick question" is a question which has a relatively quick, generally factual answer; a question which is not likely to inspire an extended discussion.
e.g.
Quick Question: How tall is an average ten-year-old boy?
Not a Quick Question: Why are Americans obsessed with guns?
Quick Question: Why is ALS sometimes called Lou Gehrig's Disease? Who was Lou Gehrig?
Not a Quick Question: In Alan Dean Foster's Thranx Commonwealth series, is Pip a Mary Sue?
Get the idea?

Frim my recollection, The Three Little Men in the Woods, and The Robber Bridegoom also have their heroes get lost in the woods. I'm sure the Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index probably has a whole category on "Lost/Abandon in forest."
In the UK we have Babes in the wood, about some children who are left in the woods to die
New theme music also a boxI forget whether she gets lost as such, but I recall Vasilissa the Beautiful travelling through a forest and having encounters there on her way to find Baba Yaga.

"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."How can one determine which company distributes a given book in a given country?
That is, given a book titled "X" by author "Y", how can one find out which company handles the distribution of that book in country "Z"?
My Games & WritingIt usually says so somewhere on the book. Usually on the back cover, first page, or last page.
Granted, language barrier is a thing. I've bought books of different languages in foreign countries only to find out they were originally published in English.
Language barrier is at least not a problem here, as the country in question is my own.
However, the indications one the cover, etc. all point to the book having been produced in the UK, with no indication of who distributed it in this country (South Africa). Unless the store in question was buying directly from the UK, I suppose!
Ah well, it's somewhat moot now: I had wanted to do some research on a book oddly unavailable. (In short: books one, three, four, and I think five in a given series are available from a given local online store, while book two for some reason isn't. The store had said that they couldn't tell me why it was unavailable, or when that might change.) However, I came upon an opportunity to order it from the UK, and have taken steps to do so.
My Games & WritingYou're welcome. Sometimes you need to dig deeper if you want information.
Depends on the kind of paint; water-based paint might come a bit easier with soaking and scrubbing with a strong laundry detergent, but oil paint will require turpentine, which may ruin the fabric. If the paint stains are even a little dried, you might not be able to get them out fully at all.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."At this point, it has been dried, and now I want to save what little beauty it has left.
"Eratoeir is a Gangsta."Soaking in cold water and scrubbing with a brush and strong laundry detergent could get some of the stain off, and the paint stains could fade a little with repeated machine washings over time, but I wouldn't hold my breath- I had a painting shirt for over a decade and every single one of the paint stains it's ever gotten is still there, perfectly visible, and maybe the tiniest bit faded at best. You might be out of luck here.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Refresh my memory. Do we have any threads dedicated to talking about mythology? I was thinking of starting one to complement the History Thread if we didn't have one already.
I like to keep my audience riveted. We have a thread that combines religion, mythology, and theology. It's in OTC, though, so the culture might be a bit different.
SoundCloudWhat is the sport/act of sliding on a rope by grabbing onto something attached to it called? I've seen it a bunch of times, but I can't recall its name.
If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. Toni MorrisonDo you mean like water-skiing?
Naw.
There is it, thanks!

artsy geek | any pronouns | "well, if you're hearing this, then chances are you've made a very poor career choice."Because the kidneys cannot remove the salt again without also removing some water. This is a problem when drinking saltwater because the maximum salt/water concentration the kidneys can produce is less than that of seawater. Meaning that when you drink 1 liter of seawater, it needs more than 1 liter of water to flush the salt out again.

What would be a proper term for "things that feel familiar in a creepy way"?
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…I always just say "eerily familiar" to be honest.
