Oh...so it's about a guy who lives in a video game that must beat a Quirky Mini Boss Squad in order to boink that girl with the hair. I'll rent it. He doesn't seem that annoying.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."It's kinda like a movie of No More Heroes.
I swear they stole my idea.
Put me in the "I can't stand his voice" group. Oh god. I'd be able to stand him if he just had a different voice.
i. hear. a. sound.Yeah, if he were a voice actor, he's cause Viewer Gender Confusion.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.What do you mean...he sounds like a typical awkward teenager just discovering puberty...
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Michael Cera is, along with Shia Lebouf (or however that's spelt) an actor whom I don't have any particular enthusiasm for, but I don't really get the hate of, either.
Then again, there are very few actors I give a damn about either way.

He's someone that I can relate to sense I was just as awkward and stupid sounding when I was a teenager.
I honestly can't understand why anyone would hate him, I can understand disliking his voice or disliking the roles he's been cast in as they all seem alike but I'd certainly never blame the actual actor for wanting to do a bunch of work and hopefully get famous.
My opinion has always been that I never blame anyone for getting or wanting to stay famous no matter what they do, no matter how bad they are. Cause let's face it, if I wrote some Twilight level bad stuff, but a core group of people loved it and I made a lot of money off of them, you'll be damn sure that I'll keep making that crap.
But then again, I'm a capitalist so I might not be the best person to ask about that issue.
Scratch the surface of a cynic and you'll find a dissapointed idealist. If there's anything I hate more than wimpy protagonists, it's the people who hate them.
Every film Shia or Mike is in: BAWWWWWWWW I HATE THIS FUCKING ACTOR
Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions.I think it's because of his outrageously high-pitched voice.
[[quoteblock Yeah, if he were a voice actor, he's cause Viewer Gender Confusion. /quoteblock]] He was pretty damn good in Scott Pilgrim the Animation. Just saying.
I love the animation from that too. On the subject of the hate, I'm can't say that I can judge because I haven't watched some of his movies/other work fully. I would not hate him either because of the previous reasons. On the subject of Scott Pilgrim(graphic novel), the concept is pretty interesting from what I've seen. The game made me want to see what's really inside the series.

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheDsMan1I personally find that he brings down every movie he's in. I've seen Juno, and while that was a pretty good movie he doesn't do anything for it with his recycled shy, gawky teenager routine. I don't even mind comedic actors who stick to one character, but Cera isn't even particularly good at the character he plays. Ellen Page FAR out acted him in that movie.

...I rather like Michael Cera.
-runs-
Random thought: I've found girls (Particularly the tweeny kind) seem to like Michael Cera and Shia La Beouf and guys like that a lot more than guys do. They are the stereotypical non-threatening male figure, maybe?

Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions.I don't get why people hate him either. Cera may play the same character every movie, but A LOT of actors do that, and nobody hates them. Also, why hate him because of his voice/looks? He can't control that. That's just how he was born. Personally I like him because I think he's average looking(almost homely if you ask me) and not ridiculously gorgeous like a lot of young male actors.
So most people hate him for his voice rather than his acting skills, thats just stupid. Most of the hate was caused due to Juno anyway because most people thought Juno = Hipster Shit, Pre Juno people thought Cera was a fucking demigod and they built idols in his honor.
Some of the blame is justified since some people didn't go to see the movie simply because he was in it. Other people didn't go because it was "hipster trash".
...how is blaming him justified just because some people refused to see a movie because he starred in it?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Because the movie bombed, thanks to Cera (though not directly). The movie bombed because no one went to see and alot of people didn't see it because he was in it. So (in a way) he DID kill the movie (just by being associated with it). Is it fair? No. But it happened. That and the stigma of being called "hipster garbage" (even though hipsters are a myth). Honestly though, I wouldn't be suprised if most people that complain about him haven't even seen him before. I didn't know who he even was until Scott Pilgrim.
That sounds about right. It's partially his own fault though. All he ever seems to do is indie films and quirky comedys. The "hipster" stigma comes with the territory.
I like him though. He seems like a really nice, laid back, sort of guy. It shows in interviews and his films.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.btw, what's "hipster trash" anyways? Or "hipster" for that matter?
Is it hip hop and rap? If it is, I HATES IT...if not...then what is it?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I don't know. when I first heard it, I thought it was just another name for hippies. I hear about them all the time (people ranting about them), but I've never seen one. I think it's just a myth... or something people call other people they don't like...
Far as I can tell, it's lazy, stoned, disaffected college students, usually wear hoodies and shirts with "ironic" phrases/designs on them.
Michael Cera does seem like a strange icon of this "phenomenon," but I do think Scott Pilgrim did a good job of pulling him out of it.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.
Because people don't want to be looking at themselves especially if it's all the negative qualities.
But also due to the fact that cera can't act and potrays the same whiny insecure teen. But let's not forget that people do associate film quality with the actors and cera has been in quite the few flops.
A wish is never free.
