So has skids? I mean, it's not like he's forgotten by the franchise. He got a main MTME character (Who did get a pretty damn sweet figure), and some various merchandise. Not like G1 Skids never gets his time in the spotlight.

Plus, Skids is, ya know, fictitious. He's not owed anything. Like yeah, like it or not it is kind of a underwhelming addition to the MP line to have a background character bumped ahead of several fan favorite (and never mind the MP line's strong Autobot bias to begin with).

Oh that's right, I did forget to list Blitzwing.

You guys reminded me of Movie's Skidz and Mudflap, who I had blocked from my memory. Thanks for that.

Eh. They died horribly in the comic (though while genuinely trying to help, with Sentinel Prime actually lauding their courage for facing him), so I don't care.

The fact that we’re getting a MP G1 Skids is a sign of how far down the G1 Stampyhole we have gone, and that leaves me questioning one thing.....

When do we reach rock bottom? Will we reach the point where every single facet of the G1 cartoon has been accounted for? Will I ever play dress up with a toy of Powerglide’s girlfriend? Is Alana the Pretender I never knew I wanted? And how many molds will it take for every single nameless background Seeker to get a Voyager Class figure?

[up][up][up] As I've been saying, we're not even that far down the G1 holes. There's a ton of missing Decepticons (No insecticons, no triplechangers, no combiner, no post-movie cons). Several Key autobots are missing. Heck, we'd prolly get more down if MP didn't feel the need to remake Optimus and Starscream 3 times and Bumblebee twice.

....does Omega Supreme count as a Titan, or is he too small?

Like, he's often big enough to fit other transformers in whatever form he takes right?

That's at least a bare minimum for being one: being able to house other transformers within your body (without the excuse of mass shifting).

Honestly, one of the reasons I got into the movie toys was because they had a high level of detail and based on real or realistic vehicles, while even the alien forms were fun and weird. Generations was great because it was a subline dedicated to new molds based on the entire Transformers history, juggling G1 Masterpiece figures, the Unicron Trilogy, Milestone Celebration figures and smaller Video Game lines. This created a distinction between celebrating old designs and the toylines based on recent media, but the last few years Cyberverse and War for Cybertron are almost indistinguishable from each other because they are both G1-based designs.

Has there ever been a transformer whose alt mode is a Transformer (as in an actual electrical transformer)? You'd think it would be kind of an obvious one.

Nope. That'd be a real sucky job I'd say.

Just sitting around all day providing power to others? Who'd want to do that, especially since a lack of energy is a constant issue in a lot of continuities.

....you are right though. It is so obvious I'm surprised they never tried it yet. I mean, Cybertron gave us this dude:

So a Transformer Transformer never appearing does seem odd.

And for fun, here's the Japanese version too:

So that's who Bug-Bite is.

I've seen that video on Youtube (but haven't watched it yet), and just started watching Earthrise today.

I'm gonna take a look at the vid to get a feel for it.

Didn't expect Scorponok to show up. Also caught a lot of mythology gags. It's helps I've been bingeing on multiple forms of Transformers Media for the past few 2-3weeks now, so I'm kinda caught up on a lot of things.

Our boy Mega Zarak has shrunk quite a bit. Though of the city formers and titans, he seems to change size the most, with this incarnation of him being the second biggest after his original form.

Random question:

Can anyone name me some female decepticons/predacons with beast modes besides Black Arachnia?

https://tfwiki.net/wiki/List_of_female_Transformers#Beast_Era

Most are glorified cameos on concept

Prolly the only notable one is Beast Wars II Scylla who was a regular character, and BW Uprising Deadend, which is also a fairly regular character.

The upcoming Beast Wars comic reboot has a female maximal named Nix who turns into a bat.

Well yeah, but since Rob was asking about decepticon/predacons I didn't bring her up any more than I'd bring up Airazor.

They prefer the terms "Protagonists" and "Antagonists."

I'm gonna rewatch Beast Wars, sinec I don't have a flawless memory of season 1 anymore, and I want to rewatch some of Airazor, Tigatron, and the Vok storyline.

  • Even though it's not "great", I'm pretty certain the CGI came a long way before the end of the show. At least I remember it that way.
    • I definitely didn't remember Terrorsaur's wings clipping through each other in episode 1, so it seems it had a ways to go.
    • Oh, Terrorsaur's poorly animated in ep 1 in general. No wonder they killed him off early.
  • So many catchphrases appear in the first episode, too:
    • That's just prime
    • We're all gonna die
    • Shut up, Rattrap
    • YES
    • NO
    • Tarantulas' ridiculous laugh
      • (and on that note, in the opening skirmish, before they got their beast modes, Tarantulas had fingers, but his head was still the same, 8 eyes and all)
  • Optimus has a great sense of humor
  • Despite Cheetor being the first Maximal's name Megatron was made aware of in the show, apparently he's the only one Megatron never once referred to by name throughout the show.

Beast Wars CGI has the fact that it's early CGI working in it's favour. We'll see that later Transformers series would vastly improve their CG...

...while others can't even figure out how to give their characters actual facial expressions, despite taking place later.

And I LIKE Cybertron.
