During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

By the way future, according to everything I have seen on this wiki Gozer is supposed to be a "he'. Or there is a lot of correcting that needs to be done.

Oh also about Shandor you might not want to propose him apparently The Video Game is canon where he has a redeeming quality so unless he subverts it in the film seems it isn't an option.

By the way, even though I haven't seen the game's cut scenes yet, I read up on Gozer's role in it just now and…yeah, it's hardly worth bringing up what he/she/it/they did there (just trying to focus energy to come back at full power most of the time).

Also If Gozer gets approved I think we should put the Film section at the top even though there is only one it is how the franchise started and what it is most well known for much like how we do it for Indiana Jones and Evil Dead.

Writeup's ready. Waiting until you're ready for it though. In the movie, from what I recall, they see other years etched in the wall at Shandor's site indicating this is other times he tried to bring Gozer back or did and she caused destruction (with two being 1984 and 2021) . Not 100%, but sounds right.
Also yeah, THE OG Ghostbusters villain!? How do you not!?

while James Marcus from Resident Evil 0, on his own, is one of the most low-key depraved characters in Resident Evil history, has anyone brought up if he "loved" Wesker and Birkin? In his files you can see even in his descent to madness and paranoia, he stresses the two are the only people he trusts and he sounds heartbroken when they betray him. Even if the Queen Leech isn't exactly Marcus, can we infer its subsequent hate for his ex-students to be how Marcus would really feel?

@ACW It's really good. While it does lean too much on Easter Eggs from the first one and plot elements from it too, it still recaptures that feel and emotions and my God, that ending with Egon silently saying goodbye to his family and friends had my eyes watering.
Answer the Call felt like they probably tried to modernize the concept too much. This didn't.
@Bull May be okay to keep it with a note about it only applying to the first one.
