This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello there, I would like to edit again... I didn't know it would be that complicated...
On Beauty And The Beast, I was moving tropes to the Character page, I created. Forgive me for not leaving a note about that. It won't happen again.
Can I edit again, please.

@Fighteer: Thanks for the link, its hard to navigate this site sometimes
Some things are meant to be eaten@luckyboy7: If you want to edit, then why didn't you respond to what I said here? I really don't see any point in letting you back if you can't be bothered to pay attention.
@DjMagic: A new account, who is familiar enough with wiki policies to transplant big chunks of material to a Characters page, and just so happens to have a Hazel Eyes fetish like our old friend Goldstone? Pull the other one, it talks.
@cthulhucalamari: I'll remove your suspension but you need to pay attention to our editing conventions. Third chances are rarely given.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hi, just wanted to ask why my editing abilities have been suspended.
I thought it might be because some of my edits to the Sherlock (Tv show) page - I was cutting down some of the Moment and Tear Jerker entries because some were repeats and also because basically every event in every episode was being listed, which seemed a little excessive even considering that we've stopped using the term Crowning Moments. It seems like there should be a balance where we're not including everything that happens on those pages. I'll stop doing that, though, if you prefer.
@Warrior Eowyn: You don't get to say what other people find funny/sad. That's why the pages are labeled subjective. If you find duplicates, it's fine to remove or consolidate them, but use the edit reason box to say so. If you want to contest examples, use the Discussion page.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Minotaurgirl has a Brown Eyes Fetih. She's the only person in the entire world who would force the lie about Belle having brown eyes down people's throats, even when all ofthe evidence point to a different direction. Before she came along was there ever an edit war about Belle's eye color? This is Minotaurgirl's Disney Wiki account under the name Clover Hartland. Belle's eyes have always been written as hazel on Disney Wiki and there were no edit wars about her eye color, but then Minotaurgirl made an account there and started changing hazel eyes to brown eyes, kinda like she did on TV Tropes. The Disney Wiki bans users for a number of reasons, one of them being inserting false information, which is what Clover Hartland (Minotaurgirl)'s edit was considered to be. Look◊ at◊ these◊ screen◊ shots◊ Pure evidence that Belle's eyes are hazel and not brown. Do you know why Minotaurgirl says Belle's are brown? Because her voice actress said so. That's it, that's the only reason. It can't be an of the movies, franchise, merchandise and artwork cuz they all have Belle with hazel eyes there as well.
Minotaurgirl deserves to be blocked. If it wasn't for her, no edit war would have happened in the first place. With her it's impossible to achieve piece and agreement due to her pathetic bias.
No idea how someone could care this much about the color of the eyes of a cartoon character. It is obviously something you would have trouble understanding, but try to accept that this all seems pointlessly obsessive to most people. Please leave us out of it. Both of you.
And — can't believe I'm responding — all your images show brown eyes on my monitor. Not that I care. I really, really don't.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyWe've banned you under at least ten different names. Go away already. You are unwelcome in this wiki and we will never unban you.

@Warrior Eowyn: Suspension lifted.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Cherry Lover, I'm rather unhappy with the attachment you show to parts that bother you, as the wiki is a collaborative project and you cannot expect people to go through you, especially when you disappear for a couple of months.
With that said, you were wise enough to relent this time, so we can give this one final try.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSo since I'm not getting back on those boards anytime soon (still being optimistic, I know), there are a few threads I'm proposing here.
And perhaps it would be better if one of you made them anyway, since you'd likely present their cases better.
- Batman Grabs a Gun - Image Picking: No real context. The trope is basically "You know it's really bad when a "no guns" hero has to break that policy". The image doesn't really reflect that. Perhaps a panel within that issue shows the trope properly.
- Elemental Powers - Image Picking: A couple of suggestions from The Legend of Korra, that show the elements a bit more clearly than the current picture. Korra alone◊, Korra and the rest of the "Fire Ferrets"◊.
- The Power of Cheese - Image Picking: Not an example. The trope is about commercials products making people treat the products as all-important. The picture actually fits Blessed Are The Cheesemakers. I know the IP thread insisted it was okay as a visual pun, but How to Pick a Good Image says that "Images based on a Literal-Minded interpretation of the trope's title can be misleading". Plus there are plenty of fitting print ads that show the trope, and can even involve cheese.
- The Power of Cheese - Trope Repair Shop: I did a wick check, and there is misuse. Out of all 29 wicks:
- Headscratchers.ABC: Troper pothole.
- YouKnowThatShow.Advertising: Refers to the ad campaign, not the trope (then again, a trope transplant might be done).
- PlayingWith.Balance Of Power: About cheese, not the trope.
- Characters.Buffy The Vampire Slayer Recurring And Minor Characters: About cheese, not the trope.
- NinjaPirateZombieRobot.Film: Seems to think the trope is about food.
- JustForFun.Get A Stupid Answer: Pun on the title, not about the trope. Though it is a just for fun page.
- Least I Could Do: Zero context example (and the link no longer seems to work).
- WMG.Poison Oak Epileptic Trees Archive: Pun on the title. Yes, it's an archive, but it's still misuse (just means it will remain so no matter what is done with the page).
- Slogans: About the campaign, not the trope.
- SugarWiki.Sweet Exists: Confuses it for a "power of X" trope, when it's not really.
- Advertising. The Burger King: Unless there is context I'm missing, it looks to be confusing it about food.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Again, about the campaign, not the trope.
- EarWorm.Video Games: About cheese, not the trope.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.DQZ: This is not the thread for this kind of thing. In fact, there is no thread for this kind of thing, because when someone is banned from the workshops, that means we don't want them making workshop threads, and it certainly doesn't mean we're going to run around making workshop threads for them. That's extra work on our plate because you got banned. It's not going to happen. Please don't do this again.
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicHey, I didn't know. I won't ask again.
But I will repeat that those were just proposals for threads. As in if you feel what I brought up has merit, someone could make those only when and if they felt like it. If you don't feel those hold water, then of course don't make such threads.
EDIT: And this is not me trying to get around the ban, if that is what you thought. I was just bringing up things I felt could be discussed. I honestly thought just bringing those up was okay (even though I know better now).

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It still has no purpose in this thread. You should have realized that, it's common sense.

"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicHonestly, even if in hindsight, I should have known, I still didn't. It just happened that way. What more can I say, but "Oops, my bad".
What matters is that I don't do it from here on, now that I'm told it's not cool, so I won't.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.So... it has been a week now. I agree that it was really stupid to take part on an Edit War over something as petty as a kind of Villain Team-Up, and I'm really sorry. It's my first time being suspended, and I can assure you that I don't intend for this situation to repeat itself. Can I have my suspension lifted?
Sure.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerHow do I get unsuspended? I promise whatever I did, I won't do it again.
You're in for reverting Moderator edits to do with example sorting. As for you getting unbanned, I don't know enough about your case to make that call right now; I'm sure someone else on the staff will be along to help you shortly.
"Yup. That tasted purple."@neolightning: It's fairly simple. We fixed example sorting and indentation of some entries on Pokémon Anime - Original Series, to comply with wiki policy. You reverted those changes, twice, ignoring the edit reason I left. Hence, I suspended you.
Now, what makes this interesting is that your edits to that article start immediately after we suspended an account by the handle of websurfer who was also reverting moderator corrections to Example Indentation. We suspended you for edits on a different article but relented as it appeared to be a mistake, but now I'm not so sure. I think that you are, in fact, websurfer, and ignored your suspension on that handle so you could continue editing.
Now it's your job to give me some kind of reason why I'm wrong. Please note that if you don't respond, we'll assume that you intend to evade again and we'll issue a full ban to your current handle(s) as well as any new ones you create.
