Creepypasta Cleanup

Polybius was brought up years ago near the end wick namespace migration project. We had issues trying to namespace and we wanted to avoid using Web Original/ (and this urban legend didn’t start online anyways), so Video Game/ was the closest namespace. Some people did suggest an Urban Legend namespace for things like this but there wasn’t much support for it.

I asked about Saki Sanobashi a while back and I think people said if Polybius was in the V Ideogame/ Namespace it could stay in Anime/. I wouldn't be adverse to moving both of them

Alrighty, that makes sense now! Recompiling my list with all the info I got and then after I get everything addressed and sorted I'm throwing myself back into the index to look hard and see if there's anything akin to me finding links to erotic novels on Slenderman's page.

• I think we got like agreement for removing Bad Creepypasta and Overanalyzing Creepypasta from the index because they're just dramatic readings. So if there's no objections I'll take it off and put it below the index where there are all the youtube channels that do dramatic readings.

• So I've looked at Otherside Picnic for a while and it's definitely in the index because it references Japanese creepypasta (as the description and several of the tropes say). But it's still just a horror light manga, so I still don't think it should be in the index.

• Creepypasta Cookoff is a website that hosts creepypasta creation contests and then hosts the entries on site.. It should most likely be moved to Website instead of Literature.

• I still don't know what to do about Suicide Mouse's 10 different video weblinks listed in the description. Can I get some input on that?

I should point out that Creepypasta Cookoff isn't exactly a website in itself, but more of an annual contest hosted on the website Bogleech. Not sure how we would handle that, since it's not like Bogleech himself is writing the creepypastas, he's just hosting them on his site.

I think that for that kind of contest we can use creator, the only example of doing so I remember in this moment is Huluween Film Festival but I am almost sure there are others.

Creepypasta itself is listed in the Horror Web Originals. And then underneath it in subbullets are Ben Drowned and the return of my arch nemesis Suicide Mouse. Which leaves me two questions.

• Should it be listed in this index? Considering everything else is an actual work, I feel the answer is no.

• Why are there two sub bullets? There's more than 2 creepypastas, there's like 100 different ones on this wiki.

Ben Drowned is definitely more of an ARG than a straight up creepypasta (same with the Slender Man mythos channels).

Cupcakes tropes not only the original story, but also the fan art (count how many times the damn page image got mentioned) and the alternate endings. The entire Heartwarming page is nothing but sweeter endings.

Troping multiple stories on the same page because they're based off the original, where have I seen that before?

Making the entire heartwarming section being about alternate fan endings though? Personally don't agree with that but is there anything stopping it?

So I have largely separated the tropes from the Sonic.exe game and story, and removed all references to non canon spinoffs.

I plan to create separate pages for the fic and the game unless anyone objects.

I vote in favor of the split ^^ Might help if I have time, college is about to start so no promises.

By the way I will get rid of the JTK examples on Jeff The Killer, since the author Slimebeast has his own page

Reading through the creepypasta subpages at work because retail makes you want to do any other work and I found this as the first example on the heartwarming page

• Doors It also has some subtle musings about the fragile nature of family itself, how everything you love could be destroyed in a single moment, and you would not be able to do anything about it.

This is a ZCE, right? Because it doesn't actually go into why this creepypasta is heartwarming, it just gives a weblink and then explains that the story is scary.

(Time to skim through the entire subpage to make sure the subpages aren't full of these kind of examples.)

One of the subpages is just a redirect to the CM page for web originals. Which I guess makes sense considering most of the creepypasta page is web originals.

I stick away from CM stuff because it's just... a lot, but is this normal? I wonder if there's enough creepypasta examples to warrant it's own subpage, but I kinda doubt it.

We used to have a Complete Monster page dedicated to Creepypasta examples, but they were eventually moved to the Web Original because they weren't a shared franchise.

Well that explains the redirect!

So after looking through the main page's tropes, I've found something strange.

So many of the creepypastas tropes on the page don't actually have their own pages. This leads to one of three things. A weblink is given to the original story in the example, the title of the story is given in the example (which makes it hard if not impossible to find some of these but shrug) or you get things like this:

• One Sims creepypasta describes the clown coming up to the house and kidnapping the player's Sim Children.

This isn't a valid example, is it? You can't just write 'there's a story with this' and not say what it is, or else you could write anything.

I just read Tips for Editing and as far as I understand we should redlink the weblinks and the ones without pages, as for the third case I am almost sure that an example have to give the work's title and otherwise the examples should be either deleted or hidden (I am not sure of which one) until somebody can fix that.

I just consider those similar to general examples and delete them - if you're not listing a specific work, why list it at all?

Well, nobody can fix a years long edit that lists no source so I'll delete those when I get the chance.

Redlinking sounds right but the page is probably going to be an eyesore of red when I get around to it.

By the way it needs plenty of work but I made a page for the Jeff the Killer remake
