Sure, calling in favor of splitting off near-water examples.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSo I am guessing we need to sandbox both pages, have alt names crowners for both, and then disambiguate Underwater Boss Battle.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanClock is ticking.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportDe-broke the crowner.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMoved examples to the sanbox pages. I left out ZCEs and alphabetized the rest. The descriptions seem to be the main things that need work at the moment.
Restarting the clock.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWell, the drafts still are as they were made. I still think the descriptions are too thin; does anyone have any ideas for them? More things to add, points to expand? Or are they fine as they are?
Maybe I could give suggestions after some thought.
Add a sentence on the atop-water description?
In some games, the player character can swim, but those games take measures to ensure they're not in the water for long, by having Grimy Water that damages them, threatening to push them offscreen as the platform and/or enemy moves away without them, or what-have-you.
If length is an issue, the "see"s (compare, not to be confused with, etc.) at the end can round them out.
Subtrope of Boss Battle, can take place Under the Sea, may involve Super Not-Drowning Skills, etc.
Good idea; did a bit of that.
I think the drafts are definitely looking better. What does everyone else think?
bumping this thread. Are the drafts good to go?
Y'ALL JUST GOT SHREKTAt this point, I definitely think they're capable of standing on their own.
I think the drafts look good although not sure what we should call the “boss battles near or on water” trope.
Macron's notesPuddle Proximity Pugilism :P
Or for a slightly more serious suggestion, Water's Edge Warfare?

"Warfare" doesn't really say "one on one battle" to me. "Water's Edge Battle" would be better. Maybe "Battle Above Water"?
Honestly, I don't know what word or phrase you'd use to denote a boss battle other than "Boss Battle" or "Boss Fight" without using some artistic license.
Short of "Beachside/Bankside Boss Battle", I don't know what else you'd call "near-water boss." If you include above water, I don't know what you'd say other than "Not Underwater Boss Battle".
What about "Waterfront Boss Battle?"

Kirby is awesome.I guess it being a Boss Battle is important?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Oh yeah, "Boss" should have been included there, you're right.
"Above-Water Boss Battle", maybe? Alternatively, "Waterfront Boss Battle" can also work.
I prefer Waterfront Boss Battle.
Edit: Also, even though we're currently brainstorming names for battles that take place above water, I thought I'd suggest the names Subaquatic Boss Battle and Subaquatic Boss Skirmish for battles that are actually underwater if we end up renaming that trope. (The latter isn't completely alliterative since I feel that the word "Boss" is too important to omit from the name, but oh well.)

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Double-posting because I made a crowner with the suggested names, as well as some extras. In some cases, I added the word "Boss" to suggested names since this is a Boss Battle subtrope.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.

Vote up for yes, down for no.
Looks like we have an obvious winner. Can we call the crowner?
