Changed w/o discussion: Impossible Pickle Jar

As brought to my attention by this ATT query, Ryzov_meister9247 changed the image from the below image in December to one potholed to Sister Floriana, a work page they created.

I have to say that even though it was changed without discussion by a problematic troper, just comparing the two images I like the replacement better.

I'd like a better-composed version of the former image, due to how ridiculous of an example it is.

It should have been discussed but I like the current more because I can barely make out the old image. Maybe the first three panels?

the old image looks very messy compared to the new one, although yeah i agree that the new image should've been discussed first here.

I'll just note that while I can understand why people dislike the former image, I'm uncomfortable with using the current image. The comic it's from is alt-right revisionist crap, and the troper who created the page might actually be the author, with said author's Twitter account being filled with blatantly fascist talking points.

I mean, we do allow works from NSFW works as long as the image itself isn't NSFW. I don't think keeping the image is going to be the end of the world.

i would like to point out that the drawing has nothing to do with this so called "Sister Floriana" fanfic; it's actually the other way around in fact. the guy modeled their alt right fanfic after the artworks.

if any of us can get permission directly from the artist i think we can still use the current image without associating it with that dumb fanfic.

then again, the Garfield image works too.

~rjd1922, Willbyr explicitly said both here and on ATT that the Sister Floriana image can be removed. You don't need to put it back on the page.

But anyway, yeah, panel 2 of Garfield might not be as over-the-top as the previous image, but it's composed a lot better, it's much clearer, and we don't need to get permission for it, so it has my vote.

Willbyr gave the OK to revert the image change; laserviking42 removed the image entirely without re-adding the old one. But anyway, panel 2 of Garfield works.

Regardless of the source, panel 2 of Garfield is better than the current or previous.

On a different note, I do think that the Sister Floriana page may need to be looked into. The questionable (at best) ideological stuff is one thing, but that combined with potential Auto-Erotic Troping seems a little suspicious.

It's already been looked into. The story is very poorly written and uses stolen artwork, but it's hardly political in any way, save for a few bits and pieces.

The Garfield image is good.

The image with the nuns is also OK, but the Garfield image is funnier. Please not that the nun picture is not originally from Sister Floriana; that work just uses it without permission, so it shouldn't be tainted by the politics of Floriana.

I don't like the original image, since it's low-contrast and blurred and it's really hard to see what's going on. Even if we used a cleaned-up version there's too much detail.

to Garfield. It's more dynamic and a lot funnier than current.
