Yep, can confirm it's a spelling error, which is always a valid rename reason.

I support the suggested name.

Demythification is already a redirect, so let’s move all the wicks there (there’s also a bunch of redirects that I think are pointless).

156 wicks. This shouldn't be too hard to move. I think all the other redirects other than Demythification and Demythtified could probably be cut.

On the subject of redirects, Demythtified (with an extra T) is a redirect, but Demythified (spelled correctly) isn't. I feel that it would be a good idea to replace the former with the latter as one of the redirects (though I agree that some of the redirects probably aren't needed).

If it matters, the former has only one wick and 19 inbounds, so it could probably be cut if the latter is turned into a redirect.

Edit: Also, I copied and pasted the wick list for Main.Demythtification into a text editor (which I have configured to display line numbers) and the wick count for the main page is actually 105. The reason the Related page shows a higher number is because redirects' wick counts are added to the total; this same factor is why a freshly moved page with a small wick list will show a much higher wick count.

I guess the original intent was to make it sound like demystification, but demythification is already a valid real word.

Certainly rename to Demythification .

"Demythologization" is yet another synonym. Not saying it should be changed to that, just pointing it out.

I still prefer Demythification, especially since it already has a decent amount of wicks, which would speed up the wick cleanup process.

That said, maybe we could turn Demythologization into a redirect.

Edit: Wow, I really screwed up the wording of the second line of this post when I originally posted it. I fixed it. (Either I was tired at the time, or I had just gotten out of bed and wasn't completely awake, hence the weird grammatical errors.)

I think this trope has enough redirects as-is. Do we have enough consensus to move the page?

People (including me) were proposing cutting some of the redirects (mainly ones that aren't directly based on the trope name, so Demythtified wouldn't be cut, and I previously suggested making Demythified a redirect). Someone previously said that some of them are probably unnecessary.

Edit: jandn previously said they think most of the existing redirects are pointless, and I agree. You were also in favor of cutting them.

If it matters, most of those redirects don't have very many wicks (if any) and their inbound counts are generally low.

Edit: I cutlisted No Myth Take, Retroactive Realism, and Retroactively Realistic, which have no wicks and very few inbounds. Not sure about the others, since they have at least one wick each and their inbound counts are all in at least the triple digits.
