Ambiguous Name: Screwy Squirrel

Once the voting is done, we need to decide what to do with the original Screwy Squirrel name after the rename/merge happens.

• Turn it into a redirect to either The Prankster or the renamed trope?
• Turn it into a Disambiguation page between The Prankster/the renamed trope, the Animal Stereotype trope about squirrels (should it get launched), and the Tex Avery character?
• Remove the name completely?

We could probably use a new crowner to decide that.

Agreed, I'm just not good at creating Crowners.

How Crowners Work explains how to make one. Since the one I made is a Page Action crowner, and the options you proposed would also go on a Page Action crowner, the new crowner would need a new name, such as "Screwy Squirrel II" or something like that.

I'm in favor or removing the name entirely because it is so non-indicative. There's a TLP draft for a Squirrel Animal Stereotypes trope right now, and as long as Screwy Squirrel exists as a non-redlink people could use it incorrectly once the draft launches.

This is exactly why I'm in favor of a disambig page. Something like:

Screwy Squirrel can mean the following:

• A cartoon character created by Tex Avery.
• Nutty Squirrels, an Animal Stereotype about squirrels.
• The Prankster, a comedy character archetype who likes to play pranks on people.

I fixed the crowner, since everything got replaced with Bibble Bobble test text again.

Sorry for the double post, but the crowner is clearly in favor of merging with The Prankster, but we'd still need another crowner to decide whether to disambiguate, redirect, or cut Screwy Squirrel.

Edit: Fixed the proposed options for the second crowner, because I previously accidentally typed "merge" instead of "disambiguate".

I'm confused, if we're voting to merge, why do we need a crowner where we can... vote to merge?

The second crowner would be about whether after the merge we:

• cut (redlink) the original Screwy Squirrel
• turn it into a redirect to The Prankster
• turn it into a disambiguation page

Took care of the subpages (WA page is being kept for obvious reasons) and the redirect, so now we have 475 wicks.

Also, be sure to scan the page for what may not be on The Prankster already.

When taking care of the wicks, keep in mind that there might be a few examples that are better fit for The Gadfly or Troll than for The Prankster.

FYI, Screwball Squirrel has been launched. We can migrate literal squirrel examples there.

We're still at 465 wicks, and a new example (a ZCE to boot) was added today, so there's still a lot of clean-up to do.

As going through the wicks, I'm realizing something that did not come up during the discussion: Screwy Squirrel, the was it was used, is often The Prankster + insanity + cartoonish omnipotence. The original Daffy Duck, Woody Woodpecker, The Aracuan Bird, Discord from My Little Pony, etc. all have some Reality Warper powers that they use to play pranks on others, which The Prankster not necessarily does.

We'll need to be on the lookout for wicks that revolve around the character Screwy Squirrel. Had to fix a couple of them just now.

It's similar to what I encountered when dealing with Hello Nurse wicks.

We are at 399 wicks now. Slow and sturdy, I guess?
