Yeah, doesn't look very tropeworthy. Motion to cut.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIt just looks like it's complaining about the concept of serving suggestions. Cut.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Cut.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCut. It's pretty much nothing but Real Life examples, rather than a thing that happens a lot in fiction.

Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Cut for being chairs.
Seems like a legit advertising trope. Send back to TLP?
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Is it? What's the trope?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMarketing shows the product together with something that isn't actually included with it, along with a Stock Phrase disclaimer to avoid fouling up truth in advertising requirements. It's a highly stylized depiction of the product that deviates from reality, plus a sort of lampshade admitting to that deviation.
It seems like a sister trope to Covers Always Lie and Too Incompetent to Operate a Blanket (though perhaps it could be rolled into Covers Always Lie).
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"We already have Adjacent to This Complete Breakfast, which doesn't have a huge amount of wicks, but is above the not thriving range (according to Main.Wick). If I'm reading that trope's description correctly, it isn't actually exclusive to cereal ads, which would make Serving Suggestion redundant with it.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. That, and Serving Suggestion isn't being used to explain fiction but rather complain about real-life food packaging.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Right. If we absolutely need it, it'll take a lot of work to bring it up to snuff.
And it's been around for years- and has actually been edited a decent amount for a page with only 3 wicks. If all we have so far is a handful of general examples, would punting this to the TLP really help? If you think it's needed, we may even be better of remaking it from scratch: it's completely worthless to us as-is.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'll hook up a single-prop crowner to decide this.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNudging this for votes.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope Report9 yeas and 2 nays. Is it safe to call, or do we need more votes?
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Make that 10 in favor. Anyways, it's safe to call. I'll handle the wicks, since there's not much.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWicks done (there were only three, all indices), and page cut, now time to close.

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
It has 3 wicks. Only one of the few examples on the page can be classified as "Not General". The image is low-quality.
Its only saving grace is that it's been updated recently, but other than that... this page is suffering, and I'm not even entirely sure it's actually a trope. It's called an Advertising Trope, but... is it? It's not a creative choice that means anything or has any impact on marketing AFAIK.
