Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

He then pulls it out to see that Valve is about ready to unveil their VR project titled Half-Life: Alyx.
".... Those damned fools doomed us all by going against the no game prophecy...."
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

Dave's group smiles at seeing the affectionate gesture.
"We may laugh, Power, but we mean no offense to you. After all, I'm sure some of you who's here also have nicknames like that," Dave tells her.
"Believe me, I should know myself," Ninten, whose laughter has long died, comments. "I mean, my own parents are never quite over calling me 'Ninny'. 'Pow-Pow', in comparison, is less of an embarrassment to me."
"I believe my parents used to call me "Riri". It's so embarrassing; I mean, it's a girl's name, darn it," Riku muses.
"Is that so, Riri? I'm getting fond of it," Kairi jokes.
The Keyblade Master shoots the Princess of Heart a glare. "Don't you "Riri" me, Kai. You whelp."
"I was only kidding...." she replies with a sigh.
Riku smiles. "Don't be sad; I know you don't really mean it. I'm just.... not fond of the nickname at all. It brings a few bad memories." He then hugs her.
"Okay, then. In regards to that particular nickname, Let Us Never Speak of This Again."
Then the Zoroark Scipion suddenly shows up, attempting to scare Power and everyone else, when all of a sudden, several kitchen sinks are thrown towards him.
"Back off, Scips; we're not here for your kind of fun and games. Unless, of course, you want another shove of my mighty kitchen sink of doom?" Dave warns, levitating another
His group, once they have gotten over their shocks, glare at the Zoroark in question, holding their weapons in battle-ready poses.

Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."
Day 1
Not again.
It's a massacre, to put it simply—millions and millions of civilians dying all at once in a violent burst of electricity; most paralysed too far to take another breath in the first place, but some of them being set alight in a blaze and having their flesh, quite literally, melt off the bone for their troubles of staying alive after the shock dissipates. By the time it's over, the air's thick with the overwhelming stench of blood and suffocating smoke.
What's left is nothing but billions of corpses charred beyond any recognition—once a whole continent—flooding the Arena in a sickening display of overflowing ashes and collapsed human skeletons.
...somehow, anyway.
How something as ridiculous as an entire population being killed off by a single magnified lightning bolt could happen in the realm of physics was less of a concern in matters like the Games, than how they actually happened.
For now, Asia's out of the Hunger Games Simulation.

Zorua opens their eyes.
Yo! Welcome back to the land of the living~, comes the upbeat voice and cheery smile of an ash-blonde teenager. Shuuya Kano, one of the founding members of the Mekakushi Dan, waves at the incapacitated nominator.
It was...sooner than expected. I have restored the bodily functions that were not influenced by your True Reversion, as per standard, though you may want to check for its aftereffects.
As usual, NOV-4 is sitting at Zorua's side with a report. It seems they're all back at headquarters, for the moment.
'Sooner than expected'? When the hell was the last time I was away longer than the Bloodbath? Zorua jokes, getting up from the bed they've been teleported to— Though this time was pretty different from being shot in the head or getting curbstomped by the other nominators...–and wincing slightly as their sleeve shifts for them to notice a pitch-black burn scar running the full length of their arm. Shiiit, that's gonna be a lot more conspicuous than a bullet hole.
So it seems. NOV-4 notes.
Not to abruptly alter the subject, but if I may ask, about the tributes you instructed me to nominate in the future...
Ohhh, right! the boy exclaims. I was wondering how that would work—how would "everything" fit in the Arena? Is that every tribute too? Does that include the Arena itself or does—
Zorua groans. Sure, this is the guy who once took selfies in a hostage situation...but he really needs to work on his timing.
Right, right, Plato, could you get back to me on that? Kind of hard to think when your brain's just been fried. Literally.—they lie back down with an exasperated sigh.
Kano only grins in response.
Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

Suddenly, the sky turns dark, and lightning strikes the ground right in front of the group. Everyone but Frisk jumps back and huddles each other while the child summons their barrier, but is knocked back by the strike, which passed through it.
Power turns around when she hears the creepy laughter and comes face to face with the deranged Zoroark. She hides behind Ichi and prepares to summon her drawings when suddenly, Dave throws kitchen sinks at him.
Power mentally snickers at the time during the last moments of the OT when Dave stumbled across a kitchen sink and gained its powers by inhaling it like Bowser. Ralsei rushes in to heal Frisk, then looks at Scipion and whips him with his scarf, which has a long reach. Carlos and D. A. are still screaming at the sight of the Zoroark, and they and Frisk also decide to hide behind Ichi.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

GC's Base
"Magolor? And everyone else? Hey! I'm Zanreo, one of the nominators! And Kirby? Yeah, sure! Even nominated some versions of him myself at some point..." Zanreo replies.
"Kirby... yeah, think I know that guy! The pink puffball with the ability-copy powers from eating enemies, right?" Neptune says.
"Ability-copying... nice! THAT would be an awesome power to have!"
Later, Zanreo excitedly watches the season as it starts, amused to see what her "all Pokémon" tribute will get up to. Her tribute is not the only large group tribute this season, as the entire continents of Asia and South America, along with their populations... So far, the Pokemon had only kicked Guy-Manuel out of their camp for making too much noise, but the season had only started, and she couldn't wait to see what happened next!
Then, a loud WAAAAAA is heard in the distance. "Waluigi appears nonetheless!" a certain purple-dressed man yells as he bursts in. Soon after, a girl with long, blue tentacle-like hair is seen standing on a table. "Hahaha! It's time to inkvade this place!"
"...Oh, there you are! Welcome to the party!" Zanreo says with a laugh.
"Leftover items still have value!"

Meanwhile, Galis stops dancing and decides to take a seat. She introduces herself to the other guests very quickly.

Arimo facepalms. “Guy-Manuel making too much noise, what else is new?”
She leans in as she notices how Guy-Manuel seems to be in such fear and it’s only been one day. The cyborg was jittering. Meanwhile, Cyborg Noodle was incredibly excited about the whole ordeal.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."

Suga steps forward. "We never asked for this, either," he says. "We've all been in the Games a few times, now, and..." He lets out an exhausted sigh. "It's good that 6k1 is taking good care of you, I guess." He wants to elaborate, but he doesn't want to frighten the poor child with horrors he doesn't necessarily need to know about. Besides, it's best that he and his father don't know about what happened to V and Jimin in particular. He smiles at Sans and Toriel. "Thank you," he says to them, and his fellow members nod in agreement.
Jin lightens up upon hearing the squid girl's arrival. He grins at Sans. "Yes! I told you blue punsters stick together!"
Psyche giggles and smiles at 6k1. "Yeah, I hope they get here soon, too. I'd love to see this pun group in action!"
The season goes on… and the Asia massacre occurs. "Yeah… this is pretty concerning…"
BTS and Felix stare at the screen in horror as they watch alternate versions of themselves, their bandmates, families, friends and fans all face brutal deaths in the Arena. V is shaking, and an equally-shaken Jungkook holds him in a comforting, brotherly embrace. Jimin is shaking, too, from shock - and anger.
He notices Psyche out of the corner of his eye. "You!" He marches toward her with a hateful look in his eyes. "You can't get enough, can you!? You can't even wait for next season! You just had to go and… and…" He gestures toward the television with a trembling hand.
Psyche's single eye widens. "I-I didn't nominate that!" she protests. "We don't know who did, but it has to be some eldritch abomination like last time!"
"Bullshit." Psyche hears some faint crackling noises as Jimin lifts his arm, preparing to attack. "I'm done with you."
He is about to land the punch - and Psyche is about to summon her Stand, Epiphany, in defense - when V, still shaking, grabs hold of Jimin and pulls him away. Jimin pauses and glances up at his best friend. He softens a little when he sees the frightened look on V's face.
"Taehyung, I…" He swallows. "Y-you shouldn't have done that… you could've hurt yourself…"
"I don't want you to hurt anyone!" V cries. "Remember what you said? You said you wouldn't hurt her anymore!"
The rest of BTS look on, flabbergasted, unsure of what to say or do. Felix attempts to distract himself by judging the new arrivals' clothing choices, but he ends up giving the same deadpan expression to everyone he sees.

Kirby

◊ flies through the sky, Kirby lets out a small creature. It's Bebe, a cute creature that he had brought to life from a strange Gem. He feeds her a piece of cheese.
Meanwhile, the Pod crosses over the mountain. Near GC's Base, it lands and Kirby and co. get out and is accepted into the base.
GC's Base
Magolor then tells Sans that he could be friends with him if he wanted to, then tells him that Kirby is coming. Surely enough, Kirby gets in.
Magolor then hugs him. "Kirby, my pal!" He said to him. Mr. Star then allows his friends to interact with the others. Ness introduces himself and Paula, Jeff, and Poo to Sans and the Ramons. Kirby then jumps and hugs Sans, and then he hugs Zanreo and Neptune. Mr. Star then introduces himself and shows his angel wings to Zanreo, Psyche, and Eredars.
Ness tells Magolor. You can tell we're going to have a ton of fun here."
Magolor replies "Yep. A skele-ton of fun!"
Both laugh and high-five each other.

"sure thing mag, i'll be your friend," says Sans. "but if ya wanna join our club, ya gotta try harder than that."
Mr. Star's group enters the base. The Chosen Four find him, Toriel, and the Ramons and introduce themselves, to which they all do the same. Kirby also gives Sans a hug, and he high fives him in response.
Ness and Magolor then make a very familiar skeleton pun.
"hey! that's my line!" says Sans. Toriel just chuckles.
Meanwhile, 6k1 and Psyche are still concerned about the massive group tributes. The former was about to tell the latter about Zorua's plan when Jimin tries attacking Psyche. 6k1 backs away from them while the Ramons make a hasty "excuse us" and look for Nemo. Sans and Toriel just look at V and Jimin with shocked faces, the former's jawbone falling on the floor.
"Remember the V Incident?" Twilight says to Starlight and Starfall. "Those two went through a lot. I still remember when Pointy died in its wake..."
She puts a hoof to her chest in memory of the first Power clone.
Meanwhile, 6k1 tries to process what just happened. Jimin's powers, and by extension, the rest of BTS's, still haven't been removed, and surely Paylor will punish them for breaking one of the Arena rules...

Meta Knight glared at Magolor and simply looked in the other direction.
Lucina: Hey Meta, i'm gonna go greet Kirby and the others, wanna come?
Meta: Absolutely not, not with Magolor being there, what was Kirby thinking in bringing him here?!
Lucina: Oh come on, he looks friendly enough.
Meta: Last time I trusted him he tried to enslave the Universe.
Lucina: Alright, that's a non-debatable point you have.
She then went to greet the group anyways to Meta Knight's irritance, he simply hid in the shadows, hoping not to be noticed.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

Scipion laughed hysterically as he used his claws to deflect the kitchen sinks and jumped to dodge Kabal and Ralsei's attacks.
"My, my! Such a rude way to say hello! At least none of you died of an heart attack. Still those reactions were priceless. Also kitchen sinks, Dave? Even Pharynx's little brother is more intimidating than that!" he said sarcastically before dropping on the floor.
"I didn't expected you to go into that specifical forest and when I saw you I got that idea. Sorry but I just love being a dick."
He dropped off some blood from his face before smirking at Power. "Pow-Pow, huh? That's what your nickname looks like? Personally I think it's a stupid name, but for some reasons it really suits you well. Also sorry weird face, I didn't wanted to hurt you." he then said to Frisk.
The sky was still dark and the various roars were still going. Scipion looked at the sky before shouting. "Alright, you can drop the darkness acting!"
The shadow blocking the sky immediately began to move and as sunlight came back to the forest, it concentrated behind Scipion, forming 2 figures with 2 red eyes, one big, the other small. Giratina and the Dark Star emerged from them. "This was useless. Using darkness to merely "prank" people was but a waste of time." complained the Dark Star with it's usual annoyed/angry look. "I apologise for the rude introduction, but Scipion insisted that we clouded the sky in darkness." said Giratina, bowing his head.

Power and the kids come out of hiding, but Carlos and D. A. are still shaking.
"Well, we all wanted to go on an adventure, so we took the trail," she says.
"That was still rude of you, Scipion," says Ralsei. "Even ruder than Susie."
"It's okay," says Frisk. "I forgive you."
Power facehoofs. Seriously? He's a killer! I know you forgave Flowey/Asriel, but still...
The sky clears up and Giratina and the Dark Star show themselves.
"Really?" asks Ralsei. "Again with the darkness thing? Give me a break..."
"So..." D. A. says to Giratina, "you must be Scipion's dad, right?"
"How so?" asks Carlos.
"He's adopted." She turns her guidebook to the page about them.
"Anyway," says Power to the three of them. "Are you going to the party, too? Because if so... See you there, I guess..."
Frisk SAVES their progess, and the group continues blazing the trail some time after Scipion's leaves. Power tries cleansing her mind of the prank by catching up with the season, wondering why Mr. Sutton suddenly changed his hosting style this early, and also with Survivor.
Once again, Moonlight wins all the fruit they collected in the Reward Challenge along with three chickens after a coin toss to end the stalemate between GC and the Dissolsaber tips the scales in their favor. As for Immunity, Stardust has a hard time finding Survivor!Power in the ocean because of her coat color. Again, this cost the tribe their immunity.
After Stardust plans for the Tribal Council and Moonlight has a party, Survivor!Power finally realizes that Kirby's been sabotaging her tribe all along and votes him off. However, the others ultimately decide to kick her out instead.
"Well, I had my fun here," says Survivor!Power as she packs her saddlebags. "Sorry for being wrong about Kirby this entire time..."

"Ah... yeah, I'm fine..." says Psyche.
Jimin is just beginning to calm down when he notices a couple of familiar faces on the TV screen. He lets out a shaky gasp. "Seo Taiji... and... our producer? Wh-what are they doing there?"
All of the boys wince as they watch Ridley kill Pdogg in a yo mama fight. They all look at Psyche. Jimin in particular looks absolutely miserable at this point. "Why...?" he murmurs. "Why do you like to see us suffer so much...?"
Psyche wants to tell him that it really wasn't her doing this time, that Pdogg and Seo Taiji were both nominated by another ARMY, but the words die on her lips. She stares down at the ground in shame.
I guess inviting them to this party was a bad idea after all...
RM steps forward and places a hand on Jimin's shoulder. "I think we all need a moment," he says.
"I'll stay here," says Jin.
"Alright."
The other BTS members quietly disappear into a nearby, empty room.
Jin glances apologetically at Sans and Toriel. "So sorry about that," he says. "Taehyung and Jimin especially are... still healing. It's... well, it's hard, to say the least." He sends Psyche a glare when the skeleton and goat aren't looking. Psyche doesn't notice it.

"Yeah, we all know how much you love being a dick. You don't go to very great lengths to hide that fact."
As Ichigo and Kabal continue their trek through the forest with the group, the former watches the current season progress and chuckles at Starkiller's antics.

After seeing Gotchu heal himself and then fight with Orin over the Squeeze Toy Alien the next day, 6k1 puts her hand on Psyche's shoulder.
"Sorry about that, too... I hope they'll be okay soon."
She still thinks of telling her about Zorua's plan. Part of her wants to right now so that the Second Great Destruction would be prevented sooner, but another part doesn't want to make this moment worse...
Toriel approaches them and wordlessly gives Psyche a hug. After the remaining BTS members leave, Sans picks up his jawbone.
"sorry jin... but i'll just go look for somethin' to eat. i'll yet ya know if there's a new recruit."
He goes to the buffet table and sees all the food and drinks from the various worlds the nominators and their tributes come from. Sans finds a bottle of ketchup and downs it in an instant.

The Arena
In the night, Orin finds a car, more exactly a van. As she has seen them since the Outside World and Multiverse are made fully open to Gensokyo, she hops into it. She soon comments, "It looks fun. What's this?" She then toggles a switch, which turns out to be for the car lamp. As she plays with them, the entire population of South America suddenly enters the car and through some magic, they all fit one by one. Each of the people proceed to toggle the light for a second.
After the whole shenanigans, Orin returns to a camp she has found earlier in the day before resting. In the next day, she sees the Squeeze Toy Alien, and immediately tries to play with it. However, Gotchu immediately appears and uses his arm to grab the toy, causing the two to fight. However, apparently because of the nerf, Gotchu eventually loses and Orin gets away with the toy.
Unkown Jungle Planet
Unknown people in evil looking power armors are working on a lush jungle planet, with a huge cannon shaped superweapon on the background, implanted all the way into the core. Near it, are the suffering exotic creatures, including the Starbles. This is the Starble's native planet.
A man in an black and red emperor's suit oversees the construction. He is the leader of the organization building the superweapon. One of his generals them come to him, saying "Sir Blackblood, the construction progress is now 70% ever since the construction starts three months ago.
Detective Gamechanger's Base
The guests react to all the happenings according to their personalities, being horrified (including Giorno's and Reimu's groups several moments earlier as they saw Araki and ZUN die among the Asians), awed, or bored by the scenes on the Arena, or laughing and just being amused by the puns. They also greet all the new arrivals and introduce themselves too.
Then, the conflict happens. The guests see as BTS is traumatized by what happened to Asia, Pdogg, and Seo Taiji, as well as one of them cursing Psyche. Immediately, the groups try to voice their opinions to varying degrees. Giorno and Marinette in particular however say that the tributes' aren't Psyche's in their own ways, while Billy clarifies, "Psyche's tributes this season are Siri and Alexa."
Then, the base receives two new guests. The first walks inside in his usual clothing with a strange moving stone accompanying him, with Giorno's group immediately recognizing who he is. He is the Italian sculptor Scolippi, Billy's first champion and one of the participants for next season. He is invited to participate in the party before the season. He then says, "I think this is what fate stores for them."
And then, everyone hears a childish girl sound. They turn to reveal Cirno entering the base by flying after being accepted, while crashing around the walls. She then introduces herself, "I am the strongest fairy, Cirno!" After this, she spots Sans near a steak, which in turn is near the ketchup sauce. She immediately goes there and freezes the steak while declaring, "And I just deep-freeze this English beef. You all can be like that beef too if you fight me."

GC's Base
As various things happen, Kirby eats some of the food displayed in the tables. He is then greeted by Lucina, an old pal he occasionally fights. He is excited and hugs her. He then sees Reimu, the shrine maiden, and hugs her as well. Ribbon also greets the maiden, and asks about what her life is like. After her response, she and Kirby get some more food.
After this, Ribbon approaches the DM and asks her what she knows about her.
The Forest
Marx walks near a small log cabin. Inside, waiting for him, are his minions, combat androids he took from somewhere. He then meets his elites, which have yellow and green hair respectively.
"Alright, girls. I got this super-powerful gem, and i can use it for my plan."
Nearby, Zan Partizanne walks through the forest. She comes across a trail, and to her surprise, some people are approaching. It's Frisk and their friends, who are going to the party. Zan then asks them.
"Bonjam. I am Zan Partizanne, ally of Kirby. What are you doing in such a remote location?"

Some Time Later, at Zorua's Base
Meanwhile, it looks like the ¡three amigos! are gathered around a laptop screen displaying the season's most recent update of events. As soon as it ends, Zorua kicks back from their seat and gives an impressed whistle.
They ALL fit in there? Some car that must be. Fifty bucks that it had a hammerspace portal in it,—referring to the South Americans.
I must say, the Pokémon all being turned into monsters yet again was a subject of confusion. As was the being Ridley's project of cider production, despite having just murdered another tribute.

NOV-4 and Zorua both turn to stare blankly at Kano. He shrugs back.

It seems that you haven't considered what the lasting effects of placing these tributes in the Arena would be.
Oh, come on, when HASN'T the Arena managed to fit huge tributes like that? There were probably bigger and even more unstable ones in the past, anyway.
That is true, but we lack any concrete proof that entering them would not destroy it, or worse, create an irreparable bug in the season.
Zorua gets up from their chair and starts walking towards to the far edge of the base; a large glass wall with a distant view of the Arena, where they stand contemplating for a few moments.
Kano, who's been listening curiously to their conversation in the meantime, finally speaks up.

Who knows? is their nonchalant reply, shocking both NOV-4 and Kano.
It could end up destroying Panem, killing every other tribute, or even us—it might devolve the whole world into chaos, for all we can tell.
But hey, at least one thing's for sure. It'll wreak havoc.
In an abnormal amount of delight, Zorua looks out over the Arena.
And that's exactly what I like to see.
