Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

6k1 also hears the horn sound, and she promptly gets her phone to watch Lyra grab a rapier from the Cornucopia... while Shen Woo stabs Gabby with a tree branch.
"Uggggghhhh..." The DM facepalms. "How did Mr. Sutton figure out what her deal in the OT was?!"
The same way he somehow figured out Power Stroke's foalhood nickname, but the host never reveals his secrets!
6k1 sighs and then watches Lyra write to Bon Bon about her day so far. She even chats with her on her crystal ball when night falls, but movie!M. Bison destroys it because she stayed up too late. Lyra cries and runs away, unaware that she passed by a mountain with her face on it the next day, which Hybrid Theory 20 somehow feeds Human Rainbow Dash to.
Dave then tells 6k1 to ride with him back home.
"No thanks, I'll just call Perri to summon the portal."
But Stanford asks where his group will stay for the night.
"I'm sorry, but the Library's basement is off-limits to visitors."
We do offer temporary shelter, but only during emergencies like the Legion of Doom's invasion several Earth Prime months back.
"Hm... I guess you can ride with us, then. We can take you guys back home if you don't have any other plans."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

6k1 and Ally then follow Dave downstairs and out of the school. On the way to his ship, 6k1 receives Haze's invite.
"An early Halloween party?"
This would be an optimal relaxation method after this adventure!
"But we just packed up, and I still have other things to catch up with after we rest, so..."
6k1 replies to him that she's considering attending, but the decision isn't final.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

They then head to the ship. On the way down, they receive a message from Haze.
"A Halloween party, huh?"
"Me, not interested. I'd rather get a little bit rest after the hellhole we've been through. Besides, I don't really celebrate Halloween."
"I'd like to spend some time, so maybe that's a good place, but we just finished the mission, yes."
"I'd like some time away from the crowd for now."
"Oh, brother.... don't be like that."
"Hey, it's alright. I can understand."
We'll consider it, Haze. It depends on our schedule, Dave messages the young museum manager, as they hop on aboard the ship.
"So, where to go now? Straight to the Library?"

Kirby and friends bid their farewell to Psyche, Dave and his allies and 6k1 before leaving the school. Kirby, Ribbon, Bebe, and Magolor enter the Spacepod, Bandana Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, and Dedede went their separate ways, and the rest including Mr. Star left for the skies.
The Spacepod
As Kirby prepares his bed, Ribbon converses to Magolor.
"Do you think we would be running into monsters like the one in the Winter's End again?"
"Probably. But that one is already yesterday, so we should rest!"
Kirby then lays on his bed and closes his eyes.

Scrat ends up in a forest with his acorn. He then follows a dirt path.

She and Ally then board the ship, and the former looks out the window to check on Lyra. She cringes when DIO throws Alluka at the pony in the middle of the crowd at the 10th FIM Anniversary Convention.
"Oh Celestia, Power's probably cringing if she's watching this right now..."

Psyche bids everyone goodbye as they leave. 6k1's recount of OT S26 didn't seem to have any effect on Sayaka at first, but once everyone clears out, Sayaka finally sits up and looks straight at Psyche, recognition dawning on her.
"You... you're the nominator who threw me in the Arena and pitted me against those phantoms!"
Psyche sighs. Her social batteries are running out, she's missing out on watching the current season and she just wants to go the fuck to bed already. "At least I don't nominate my tributes just to get off to them dying as early as possible."
Sayaka visibly shudders.
"Look, we'll talk later, okay? I've got other matters to attend to now. I'll go get Ms. May and she can look after you for now."
Sayaka grits her teeth, but doesn't protest.
Psyche sends Ms. May a message asking her to come over to the lab, and once she does, the principal retreats to her living quarters to catch up on the season. She sighs irritably when Kazuichi dies, but laughs out loud when YouTube declares itself awful while trying to flirt with Fuyuhiko. Yeah, you read that right.

Billy's Mansion (Past)
During the trick, Jotaro and Billy's Clone also had to fight off the monsters, using their Stands respectively. Jotaro also shouted to Power to at least control her Stand. Eventually, Natalie stopped her trick and changed the sim back to its supposed function, which was to train long ranged Stands.
Billy's Clone then approached her and said, "I am not that impressed by this off-protocol trick, but I do know that you always like to pull these kind of tricks since I recruited you, so I think I can at least forgive this like usual. At least I can see the positive benefit of this unexpected training." Jotaro overheard this and said that he agreed too, while Natalie just smiled and nodded at the Clone.
In the meantime, Billy's tributes stayed back to watch the season. Both Angelina and Yaya were disappointed by their performances in the Arena as data clones, as well as concerned by how evil they became. Then, it ended and the tributes couldn't tell him because it would distract him. Billy's Clone was still too busy training Power to notice. As for Fvearniyx, he noticed and tried to notify the Clone, but nomination quickly finished by the time he reached the Sim Room.
While Jotaro was giving instructions to help Power better control her Stand and how to fix her offense when she missed her targets, Billy's Clone also used parts of his Stand's units to throw obstacles generated by the units, that Power's Stand had to dodge. Natalie also simulated some creative new obstacles that could be dealt with predicted potential new uses of Power's Stand. As a break was called in the first session, Dr. Fvearniyx was let in after knocking on the door.
He soon said to the Clone, "Excuse me Mr. Billy. I regret to inform that you've missed this season. I'm sorry that this has to happen to you after 25 seasons. I also heard that this would delay your plan."
The Clone seem to be frustrated as he responded, "That is not a positive news to hear. Anyway, I think I will continue the first training session after the short break. Please, go back to work Dr. Shneitr." The doctor complied and went back as the Clone continued. He decided not to tell everyone about the plan Fvearniyx meant until he could really nominate his tributes, which would happen after the first session finished, because he didn't want to distract them.
Billy's Mansion (Past to Present)
More time passed as Billy's Clone and Jotaro continue training, while his tributes stayed back to watch the next season, perplexed by the presence of two amusement park rides that somehow could move by themselves.
Eventually the first session is done, right in time for the nomination period of Season 124. The Clone declares, "We agree to give you a longer break of 45 minutes between the first and second sessions Power." The whole group soon leave the Sim Room to have a break inside a lounge at the Mansion. Unbeknownst to Power and Alphys, or the tributes, Billy's Clone has prepared a surprise for Angelina and Yaya, as well as for his nominations.
Once the group start resting in the lounge, the door suddenly opens, revealing four different individuals. They are an ambiguous young adult, an excited teen girl, a tan-skinned teenager, and a man wearing a power armor. They are Clause, Uraraka, Kat, and Sigma respectively.
The group soon start introducing themselves. The Clone soon appears to prevent tension with Sigma, due to his history as a villain. The Clone told everyone that ever since he nominated him for a Survivor game somewhere in the Multiverse five months ago, he has been working hard to break him off his brainwashing by Talon, by making a better promise to Sigma that he and his group would help him comprehend the universe. They also managed to convince him to stay in the Tribute's Village rather than go back to Talon by giving him some theoretical papers about the secrets of the universe worked, which were produced by scientists in Kendor. It explained the subject to Sigma, considering his dream, and even help him comprehend it a bit more than his time in Talon even though a lot of the information was still just theory and not proven truth.
Once Sigma trusted Billy that he would help him more than Talon did, Billy also had his fractured mind be treated by some therapy, as well as other treatments with Sigma's consent. Billy also let him wander and interact with other tributes, as well as Arcturus freely in the Village, while he continued his research on unlocking the secrets of the universe and harnessing his ability. His madness still creeped people, but they learned how to deal with it. Also since Rhodes Island had experience with housing and treating few operators like Specter, who was also driven to madness like Sigma, Billy made a deal with higher ups like Amiya and Kal'tsit to have medic operators experienced in therapy help Sigma, including Perfumer. This was because she had experience treating an operator with split personality disorder, Nightmare.
Now, Sigma is safe enough to serve as a heroic tribute for Billy, with Talon being unable to recapture him because they are separated by universe. This and other factors are Billy's motivation to nominate Yaya and Angelina, because they have similar gravitational powers.
The Clone soon reveals, "I always want to form a group of heroic tributes who have gravitational powers, including someone who got tragically misled and became a villain before we manage to lead him to the right path." He then lists the people who will make it up, making them excited, before naming the group: Tributes of Gravitational Specialists.
After this formation, there will be one more thing to come, which is the arrival of his tributes for Season 124 in the Mansion. They will be the Malaysian twins, Upin and Ipin, as well as the Russian kid, Masha.

Psyche's Fanfic School -> The Database Library
The ship departs from the school, heading for the Library. True to what 6k1 said, it was a short ride, no more than ten minutes.
Before they know it, they've landed in the front of the Library.
"So, Mr. Stanford, where exactly do you and your friends came from? You all don't seem to be the Capitol type. I'm willing to transport you all home."
"Well, then. I intend to stay here in the Library for a little bit. There's something I need to do. What about you, kids? Do you want to go to your new home straight away, or do you fancy a visit to the Database Library?"
Reggie suddenly perks up at the mention of the Database Library. "Really?! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! I love books, and I've always wanted to go to the Database Library!" He jumps up and down in excitement. Lizzie giggles at the display, as does Dave and Fira.
"Not So Above It All, huh brother? Anyway, sure. I'm nowhere near the bookworm he is, but I do enjoy reading books, so I'd like it."
"Well, then, you're in luck. Miss 6k1 over there is the Database Manager who leads the Library, and she just so happens to be someone I consider my sister."
"Really?! That's amazing!" the kids say in unison.
"Yes, that's true. Anyway, we should get going. We'll get you your ID cards first, then you can read in one of the rooms. Just stay there, while we do what we need to do, okay?"
"Yes, Miss."
"Okay!"
The four then step out of the ship, and head inside thr Library while Richardson prepares the ship to depart again.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."
Kirby
The Spacepod
Magolor drives the Pod into a field for a safe night. He and Ribbon check on the sleeping Kirby.
"He looks cute when sleeping..." said Ribbon.
"Well, goodnight!" said Magolor. He leaves the room. Ribbon then sleeps next to Kirby, while Bebe sleeps on Kirby.
Kirby's Dream
In Kirby's dream, Kirby is relaxing in a grassy plain, and he's about to eat a picnic of foods, including his favorite: Maxim Tomatoes!
Suddenly, he saw something moving in the corner of his eye.
Looking behind, he witnesses a vast field of sunflowers.
Attracted to the flowers, Kirby walks towards the field, leaving his food behind. Arriving at the edge of the field, the vast and seemingly endless sunflowers contrasts with the vast and empty grass plains behind.
Kirby presses on.

Ooh, neat! A Halloween party! (June says.) I've never heard of a Halloween party before, but it sounds fun if it's got candy, costumes, games, and candy...
Perhaps it would be a good way to relax after such a long day, but I'm not sure if I'm in good condition to attend a party right now. (Cleo says, looking at her bandaged-up tail.)
I wonder if I would even need to wear a costume if I went. (Joaquin remarks, looking down at his still currently colorful self.)
I sure could use some fun and relaxation after everything that's happened today, but I just want to go to bed... (Jared groans.)
Hmm, maybe we could just see how we're all feeling after we rest for a while. (Stanford says.) Besides, it didn't seem like it would be starting right this minute.
(Then Richardson addresses Stanford.) Oh, we came from District 9, where Eye-Sicle put his new lair. (Stanford explains.) It's made to look like an ice castle. You can't miss it.
Hey, what's this Eye-Sicle guy going to do to us when we get back there, anyway? (Wanda asks.) We did sorta leave without telling him.
Oh dear...maybe he'll understand if I just tell him that I took you all on a tour of Panem and got caught up in what was happening in the Capitol. (Stanford says.) I'm sure he knows about what happened there at this point.
Eye-Sicle's Lair
(Eye-Sicle is startled awake by a notification going through on his communicator.) What the-? Oh, blast, I missed the season again didn't I? What's goin' on now?
(One of the other nominators, the Hazemaster, is having a...Halloween party? Annoyed, Eye-Sicle snaps the communicator off and goes to freshen up.)

Ori silently moaned. Mewtwo inspected him. He seemed alright.
Mewtwo gave a supporting look at Giegue who was still hesitant. The alien slowly took the spirit into his arms.
"Ori... I..."
He could felt how Ori was. Even after one day of healing, he was weakened from his struggle against Giygas. Despite this, the spirit smiled at him. Giegue smiled in return and held him close to his chest.
"...Thank you..."
Mewtwo sighed in relief.
Distortion World
While waiting for his tributes' return, Scipion received a message about a Halloween party.
"Pfff... Obviously, past-me doesn't even need to dress as a monster or anything if he somehow shows up... What a creep." he growled sarcastically.
Like the others, he told Haze that he wasn't in the mood right now, but he'll think about it.
Neon Quarters
The OG!Scipion levitated and literally went through the ceiling. He was now on the roof of the building.
"Bale is the nearest... friend... But he is occupied. Very... Much... For now... Not him. Not yet. But then? Who to choose? Who to talk to? Who to start with...? I have to choose!" he said, almost singing.
The mad nominator slowly turned in a random direction and pointed at it. His ears raised.
"Choice made." he muttered, amused.
The undead nominator lost balance and fell all the way to the ground. But he got back up as nothing happened. He started to hum incoherently and chose to slowly walk towards his destination.

He does a headcount, before going back to his seat and taking off.

Behemoth Battle
Bale was prepared to fight the Kaiju with a transformation, but soon remembered his original goal and instead used his Riser to summon 2 Kaiju of his own to fight: Gomora (the ancient Dinosaur Kaiju) and Red King (the brute Kaiju), both monsters roared and charged at their foes, Gomora picking Hoe and Red King picking Garan, the 4-way battle turning fierce as both sides traded blows, Bale then took the chance to check quickly on the Quarters.
Bale: I got to see who or what brought these two guys here!
Unknown to him, Pegassa quickly retrieved the Capsule in the confusion and scurried away in the shadows to find a safe place in the depths of a forest in which to teleport back to his base unnoticed.
Alien Pegassa: Argh, I hope those guys at the lair pay me well, this was tense and hard!
He then quickly used a portal summoning device given to him by his employers and ran into the portal back to the lair. Bale was none the wiser to all of this, as he simply observed the battle between the Kaiju, as Gomora used its strength to deliver powerful blows to Hoe before finishing it off by tossing it into the air with its horn and then slamming it against the ground with its tail, while Red King tossed Garan around before using its strength to tear off its arms and crush its head with its foot, killing the last remaining Kaiju. Their corpses then vanished into the air, leaving nothing behind as Yapool was quick to retrieve Hoe's capsule before it could be found. He then smirked as he saw Bale return his Kaiju back to their capsules and stand around confused.
Yapool: Heh, that was a close one. Well, Bale, you certainly found a way to fight this while trying to retrieve those little capsules, too bad I am smarter than that.
He then vanished back to ???'s Lair, eager to report that the problem had been averted. Meanwhile Bale decided to go back to his base, his job done there, but also writing down a report for 6K1 and the rest of the noms.
Bale: Those monsters... Could they be the work of the former occupants of the Quarters? I need to get to the bottom of this. Who knows what other bioweapons or monstrosities lie buried beneath. I'll just have to jot it down in a document. This could be a gamechanger for the Capitol and the Games themselves

"Anyways, I’ll take your ship home Dave. I do want to stay at the library for a bit."
She and Parallel Pecan board the ship and sit down.
Tabby rolls her hand up into a fist when a embrassing thought came to her suddenly.
"Ugh, great. I honestly made a joke of myself in-front of them for this entire mission. I’m trying so hard to break outta my shell."
"Oof sorry about that, I hope that they did forgive you but we should worry about the present and not the past now."
"Parry, you’re correct for once. Thanks.”
"Hee, no problem."
"Halloween is coming up soon. What are your plans for it?"
"Beats me, I’ll wait for the other nominators to make up their minds."
Camp
"Finally...we arrived at her base."
"I'm tired of walking, urgh."
"Good, you can sit down in the meantime. When she arrives, make yourself hidden."
"Alright."
She sits down next to the wall of Tabby's base and closes her eyes.
She dreams of a better life other than the one she has with Akumo. Maybe it would come true if she wishes on a star or something.

The Message
Bale ignored his crew testing as he rushed to his private room to write a warning letter of his findings to the Nominators.
Bale: Guys, I've found something that could be seriously bad for the future, the Neon Quarters harbored 2 mysterious monsters beneath it. I suspect their scientists were developing these superweapons as means of waging war... Possibly. Whatever their purpose was, we need to look out for any other horrors sealed beneath our view. Otherwise we might find out too late.
He then finished his writing and mailed the message to every nominator he kept in touch with, only Scipion was excluded. As Bale walked out the room, Pigeon greeted him and began following him around, looking worried for a while. He then decided to watch the rest of the season, being a bit disappointed at the performance of previous tributes and Necrodeus' performance.

Ori's not fully recovered, it seems. But it seems he, Giegue, and Mewteo will be doing just fine.
"I'm glad that you're alright, Ori. You're a good friend," Ninten says. Ana nods in agreement.
"I share the sentiment. Thus, I'm willing to offer you three a stay here until Ori fully recovers. If that's alright with you."

"It's alright, Miss Tabby. We all understand."
The ship then heads into Tabby's base first, seeing as it's the closest destination.
The Database Library
After taking the ID cards for the kids, the kids are then sent into a reading room.

Power works on improving her Stand's accuracy by focusing her essence on making its beams more precise. Hearts Strong as Horses obeys her and fire them at more targets, and manages to hit all but one of them by the time Billy's Clone calls for a short break. Power then asks Alphys for the recap before continuing her training.
Alphys then watches S123 but shakes her head at Ice Wolf's and Sad Dragon's deaths. She gets a call from Undyne when the season ends.
"Alright, Dogamy and Dogaressa did a decent job in keeping the CORE cool, but they couldn't stop nuzzling each other every so often! I had to PROD their asses with my spear to get them back to work!"
Alphys winces. "D-D-D-Don't worry! Ice Wolf will be back in no time!"
"That's good to hear,—" Undyne sighs, "—but this is another reason why the bigger punk should clone her tributes!"
"I know, but I just finished the blueprints for my project! Wish me and Power luck in convincing her for her approval!"

As soon as Undyne ends the call, Power finishes the first session, this time by hitting all the targets. She takes a drink and asks Alphys for another recap.

She yawns, for she's not in the best mood to settle "important matters" with him, but feels that he wants to resolve them sooner or later.
A post officer then gives her Bale's letter.
"I doubt that the former owner nominated kaijus or tamed them for his conquest, but this is concerning..."

Kirby walked through the vast field of sunflowers. The flowers in front of Kirby shake, and a child, not too dissimilar from Lucas, but with orange hair, springs out.
"Hi! You must be one of my brother's friends! Come on, i got someone to talk to you!"
The child then walks further into the field and vanishes. Kirby then walks further into the field.
Eventually, he stops. Right in front of him, a woman
appears.
"Your name's... Kirby, is it?"
Kirby nods.
"I know you. You're the young boy who befriended my dear son... Claus told me everything about you."
"Luca?"
"His name is Lucas. I'm so glad my son is making new friends down there! Is he okay?"
"Poyo."

Scrat comes across a small campsite. This campsite is surrounded by tents, seemingly with people sleeping on it. In the middle is a table, with half-eaten food on it and a closed, large bag.
Scrat climbs the table.

The travel turns out to not be too long, and soon enough he spots a castle made of ice.

???: Worry not, master. I've found the perfect scapegoat for the Nominators to defeat... Bogar, she can call on and wake up monsters from the depths of Earth itself or from outer space, all we have to do is let her gift Bale.
Mind: And how do you plan on not raising suspicions of your group.
???: Simple. She hated being bossed around, so all I have to do is let her loose. She's intelligent enough to command her summoned monsters and take the credit for the supposed climatic attack. Maybe even call her an associate of the Archangel
Mind: Just hope she doesn't eats any of your servants. It is not practical for us to be reviving anyone anytime soon.
