So, about the upcoming final trailer for RWBY Volume 8, it’s probably going to be released by tomorrow.
That said, I have a question: for works that often rely on Never Trust a Trailer such as RWBY, is it necessary to trope the trailers until the series is released?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself. We can trope marketing and never worry about being wrong, so long as we make the example about the marketing. The trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has an Ironic Echo Cut where Will goes from saying that he won't abandon Jack to saying that it is time to leave. That's still an example from the trailer, even when it isn't in the film.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.So New Warriors seems to be delayed or cancelled.
I still agree with the idea that we should at least move delayed or cancelled works to Darth Wiki. They cannot be linked anywhere except on their respective franchise index, as the only tropable things would be trivia on What Could Have Been. This includes Sonic X-treme, which has been cancelled for 23 years.
Rock'n'roll never dies!Noting for the record that there is an index of Canceled Video Games, a couple dozen of which have pages in various states of disrepair.
Not sure I see the reasoning behind that. Canceled works often have a great deal of information come out, and I think that information is tropable even though the work itself falls under What Could Have Been. I wouldn't object to cutting the New Warriors page, but that's because it's in terrible shape.
(By the way, do we actually have a trope for a work being canceled because of pre-release backlash?)
I mean, there are some on there that have complete ROM dumps/physical copies available to the public (such as SegaSonic Bros. and Penn and Teller's Smoke and Mirrors), and there are some that have a tiny portion of footage available, but many just haven't been released.
Rock'n'roll never dies!I'd say that Audience-Alienating Premise qualifies a lot of the time.
But that's an audience reaction. The proposed trope would be a trivia item.
Rock'n'roll never dies!I agree. I don't have a problem with canceled works having pages in principle, if there's enough publicly-available tropable material to make it pageworthy.
In the specific case of the New Warriors, the page has never been in good shape to begin with, and nobody has stepped up to improve it in the week or so since the ATT thread was posted bringing it to wider attention. It was a good idea to wait until the putative release date to see if anything changed, but now that that's come and gone, I think cutlisting is called for.
Give it another few weeks in case something does get announced (since I guess this could just be another case of COVID delaying things, though that's pretty unlikely at this point) but if/when that doesn't happen it'll be off to the cutlist.
By the way, the "unpublished works go on Darth" thing is not intended for fully created and unreleased professional works. It's more of a dumping ground for bad fanfic ideas.
The problem isn't that the release date slipped or that it looks likely to be Vaporware. The problem is that the page does not meet our minimum quality standards and never has.
It's not going to magically get better in a couple weeks. No one has stepped forward to fix the page despite ample opportunity.
It should be cut.

As Rallybot suggested, we have given New Warriors 2020 a couple weeks.
As I predicted, nothing has changed.
I have added it to the cutlist.
New Warriors still has a few wicks...
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I think we can remove the unreleased stuff from the Jurassic World:Camp Cretaceous page...or is that there as a reminder because of the season 2 trailer?
Fly High, Seek PeaceDo we have a list of tropes which can't apply until release, or until some waiting period after release?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. Not really what I was looking for, in the context of this thread. That page only lists stuff for released works.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Yes, it is the list of tropes that have a waiting period after release. It's been discussed to have a 0 month category to prevent pre-release troping.
