So Bad It's Horrible Cleanup

FWIW as I had said at the time (and my comment was apparently linked to in the cut reason) I believe that we should not have Horrible pages for Web anything. Online media is far more interactive than, say, an album or a movie, and much of it (as you said) is amateur content. Drama importation is far more likely with web content than with any other type of media, and thus I feel that all web content Horrible pages should be cut.

Regardless, it should've been discussed here, not cut unilaterally.

I agree and note that I didn't cut it, I was just stating my opinion on the Web pages.

Yeah, I agree that web content should, if not unilaterally cut from Horrible, be carefully moderated. Horrible.Webcomics is probably one of the most contentious pages we have, albeit one of the most popular.

My stance on Webcomics though is that while a lot of them are amateurish, there's so much fantastic, professional-level content within the medium that I'm not sure it's really on the same level as web-videos and fanfics.

But I can see the other side here; the people who make them are, for the most part, still amateurs and not people who should be expected to make great content. They can make great content, but you know what I mean.

Eh, I don't think Webcomics needs to be cut. Not yet, at least. But Let's Play didn't seem worth keeping. It was too difficult to quantify what counted as Horrible, IMO. Still, wish it was talked over here recently.

I think we should contest the cut. Letting it remain cut might set a bad precedent.

This was removed from Live-Action Films (G-M) without an edit reason. Should it be added back?

• Galaxina, a film made in 1980, marketed itself as a sci-fi comedy featuring Playmate Dorothy Stratten (who was brutally murdered the same year). This would be fine if it wasn't one of the worst sci-fi films and one of the worst comedies ever made. The humor value of the jokes can be summed up with the character name "Captain Cornelius Butt" and the science fiction aspects don't go much farther than the title character (played by Stratten) being a sex-bot. The dialogue is painful, the special effects make Troll 2 look state-of-the-art (there's actually a character that looks like he came out of that film), and scenes go on for so long it hurts. There's not even any nudity, even though one scene takes place in a brothel! Then again, what do you expect from a film directed and written by William Sachs (who also gave the world The Incredible Melting Man)?

Yeah the last sentence can be removed at least. Don't know about the rest of the entry though.

They removed both entries already, so there isn't really much else too say about either of those (except that I agree that those two shows didn't really qualify as Horrible material).

I think Horrible.Lets Play getting cut without the consensus of this thread really needs to be addressed. Honestly, I really don't think we should just let it stand.

I thought about taking it to ATT so we could figure out who's responsible for it, as they haven't admitted anything in this thread yet. Even if we would have ultimately decided to cut it, it sets a bad precedent to cut things without discussion.

I think a vote should have been held in regards to cutting it, even if the outcome would have been favorable towards cutting.

In my opinion, there's not really that many popular Let's Plays that could be considered awful besides Darksydephil. A lot of the entries listed were outdated, and about one or two were kids without good recording equipment. So I do agree with cutting the page, I just think a decision should have been made.

While I have made it clear that I agreed with the Lets Play page being cut, I also 100% agree that the page should have been discussed here first before being cut. Absolutely take it to ATT, I agree that this sends a bad precedent about cutting pages.

Horrible.Literature just had an entry added for something called The Forensic Certified Public Accountant and the Cremated 64-Squares Financial Statements (phew). It certainly sounds utterly mad, but I don't recall seeing it discussed anywhere before it was added.

So Septimus restored Horrible.Lets Play. Should we have a formal conversation about it, either here or on a separate Wiki Talk thread?

There have been concerns that Lets Play suffers from the same problems that the now-defunct Web Original had, specifically that it's flame bait even by SBIH standards, and that it's drama-importing.

Throwing in my input, I'd say Support cutting and Support inclusion in the Permanent Red Link Club.

If you're in favor of cutting, type Support. If you're not, type Oppose.
