Uh... someone just added a scat movie, if you catch my drift, to Live-Action Films (N-Z). Cut? Even the entry itself says that the plot can't be described due to the content policy, making me question why you would even make an entry for it in the first place. It apparently originates from the forums of Something Awful, so it probably is a web original. It's also something I could have gone my whole life without knowing it existed.

I'm at least glad that the user was aware that we have The Content Policy, but I still feel like a little too much detail was given, not to mention that we don't trope pornography.

I agree with the suggestion to cut it. If there isn't one already, maybe there should be a note on So Bad, It's Horrible stating not to add pornographic works? If I remember correctly, excessive focus on explicit content was one of the reasons why Horrible.Fan Fiction was cut.

The mods decide who need actions taken against them. One single questionable example isn't a series issue anyway.

For Professional Wrestling fans, The Gooker Awards 2023 came out and two won; CM Punk backstage issues and NWA Cocaine Angle. I'm not sure Punk would qualify, but the NWA Cocaine Angle should be an example. Not only was it controversial, it caused NWA a TV deal with CW, watching it had no purpose but Father James Mitchell showing he's a master of a cultic event, and led nowhere. I'll be blunt I'd put the whole show, because it was so awful.

Nonsensical rules; tag team drinking, round table match where the guys don't bother going for round tables, sloppy wrestling, a rip-off of Silent Night Bloody Night, etc. The only potential decent thing is the main event which was interference heavy with less focus on EC 3 vs Latminer made it look more EC 3 is fighting Kamille who left NWA for either WWE or AEW.

So I remember a while back there was a discussion in this thread about the Webcomics subpage, specifically regarding whether to cut it due to hosting fanmade content, which is held to a lower standard than other works because it's...well, fanmade content. From what I remember (and I could be wrong on this) there were ppl on both sides of the debate - however, the discussion stalled before any formal decision could be made. Am I remembering this right?

Not just fanmade content, but amateur content in general is held to a lower standard than something produced professionally. Just about every comic on that page looks like it was made for fun rather than profit, which is why I'm leaning towards cutting it.

Leaning towards cutting it as well. Since the fanfiction page was cut for being amateur content, I feel that the webcomics page should be as well, in the name of consistency.

I believe some webcomics make profit via merch or a pay wall but I can't remember if any of our listed comics fit that bill.

Just from glancing at the list, I'd be very surprised if any of the webcomics featured actually make a profit.

I mean, yeah I'd be shocked if these "horrible" comics have been monetized. Doesn't sound like they'd make money.

I opened up a shortlived discussion here, and yes I think we should cut it like the fan-games and fan-mods pages.

I think some of the webcomics could count as commercial works, like webcomics made for a specific website. This would include Kansas O'Flaherty, Secret Agent which was for Salon.com and Mandatory Fun Day which was for The Daily WTF. Other webcomics listed have a print version available for sale which could count as commercial. For example, Sore Thumbs has a print volume as well as several T-shirts based on it. (Of course, it might not be horrible then since it was popular and liked enough to get all this merchandise.)

What matters is whether the webcomic creators get paid for their work, not whether they're hosted on commercial websites.

Not necessarily. Advertisements are rarely monetized, but they're still commercial products since they're made by corporate entities with money. Webcomics produced or hosted by a commercial group would still be a commercial product by virtue of being made by people who can do better.

Yeah neither of those sites are sites where users can just upload freely, they were getting paid presumably to post their comics on their sites.

I agree with cutting the webcomics page.

On that same note, I'd also like to cut Music Remixes (not the first time I've brought this up) for being a very short page and being mostly made up of YouTube videos made by random people, which also falls way below the expected quality standard. The few valid examples can probably just be moved to other pages.

The Remixes page has a Vocaloid example. Having been a Vocaloid fan since 2013, I can tell you, given the nature of published music videos featuring the software, that there are bound to be a few stinkers somewhere on the Internet.

I say cut the webcomics subpage, and move any works that can be considered professional (e.g. Kansas O'Flaherty and Mandatory Fun Day) to Horrible.ComicStrips under their own folder. They would probably do well with a disclaimer noting that only professional webcomics (which do exist, of course) are allowed to have an entry, and anything made by random internet users is off the table.

Also, go ahead and cut remixes for the same reason. If there are any professional ones to be found amongst the clutter that are legitimately horrible, they should probably get a treatment similar to the one I described above for webcomics.
