A long, wormlike creature emerges from the depths. This creature, a giant siphonophore, begins wandering through the kelp forest, weaving around the stalks of seaweed in a strange yet elegant manner. It descends, catching sight of the octopus for a few moments.
How unfortunate that you are attempting to deceive me.(A large whale shark is in the middle of exploring the reef. That's me: Pablo. I just had the strangest dream, and I've felt...different ever since I woke up. I've had plenty of dreams before, but something about this one...I don't know if it's a placebo effect or what, but I've never been so compelled to follow something that happened in a dream ever...or compelled to do anything else besides eat and sleep, really.)
(I enter a kelp forest and stop for a bit to wonder if I'm crazy to be listening to this dream. I mean, what does make this dream different from all of the others ones I've had...?)
(I see an octopus and some sort of sea worm out of the corner of my eye, but I don't really pay them any mind at the moment.)
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"A dusky nembrotha pops out from behind a cluster of rocks before quickly ducking back down after eyeing their prey.
Sure, a sea squirt doesn't move, but hey, anything is possible.
Hey how you doing well I'm doing just fine I lied I'm dying insideA cranky old sea turtle swims in.
”Huh? Whozzat?”
“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”(I, a regal tang named Fern, am exploring the reef. I spot a octopus and decide to swim to it.)
"My light shall be the moon, and my path the ocean, my guide the morning star as I sail home to you...."The siphonophore, named Nadox, continues probing around. It brushes the nembrotha briefly before swimming on past.
How unfortunate that you are attempting to deceive me.(Sure is busy around here today...)
Uh, am I in anyone's way?
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!""No," says Helga, not looking up. "I'm fine, don't worry."
But then she finally rolls over to see where the voices are coming from, and realizes that there are now many other creatures around her.
"Oh. Hello. I hope I'm not intruding on anyone's home."
I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :DThe nudibranch, named Daryl, jumps (er, floats a couple of inches) as the siphonophore brushes past them.
"HYA! Watch where you're going, you odoriferous rogue!"
Side note: I just looked up what a siphonophore was and NOPE.

Hey how you doing well I'm doing just fine I lied I'm dying insideSorry. It's hard to keep track of all those segments.
The siphonophore looks around and notices everyone.
This... isn't supposed to work like that. Maybe other people had that same dream?
How unfortunate that you are attempting to deceive me.Helga sits up when she hears the siphonophore's words.
"The dream... did you all have it too?"

I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :DOnce Helga says "dream", Daryl's attention is caught.
"Wait a minute, you guys too? I thought it was just me! I wanna know what powers I've got! Maybe I can swim faster, no, better, teleport!"
Unfortunately, they seem to be the only one who's getting excited over this.

Hey how you doing well I'm doing just fine I lied I'm dying insideWait, wait, so I wan't the only one who had that weird dream? (I ask, feeling shocked.) I'm...uh...I'm confused...
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!""Me too," says Helga. "I've spent all my life in dark caves, hiding from... her. But that new voice... it convinced me to flee to the upper waters. But now I don't know what to do. It's a pleasure to meet all of you, but... I don't think there are any others like me."
"Actually, I must ask... did any of you hear something different at the end of the dream? The voice sounded panicked, and it started fading away. The last thing it said was "Go, flee as fast as you can to... what was it? Some sort of cove..."
You can decide for yourself whether or not your character heard that in their dream. If you want to come up with a name for the cove, please PM me (since we don't have a Discord yet)

I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :D(A cove...a cove, I feel like I did.)
I...think I heard something about a cove? (I comment, trying to think more of what it was.) I think it was...I think it might have had "grotto" in the name? Maybe I'm not remembering right...
(Then it comes to me.) Oh, I think I have it. Did anyone else hear "Mystic Grotto" in your dreams?
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Not that I can remember.
Nadox stops moving briefly, attempting to compress itself a little more so it doesn’t take up so much space.
How unfortunate that you are attempting to deceive me."Mystic Grotto! That was it. Maybe that's where the answer to all of this lies... and maybe even to why I'm like this..."
"...But enough about me. Are any of you singled out where you come from? Have you ever felt different?"

I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :D"Mystic Grotto...?"
A swordfish has just reached the kelp forest after swimming around aimlessly for some time, feeling dazed, when he overhears part of the conversation. Although his recollection of the dream was hazy, the name jogged his memory...
Looking around for the source of the voice, he notices the group of creatures gathered around a giant octopus and approaches them.
A great Mascot Mook.Well...uh... (I try to think.) Well, I'm much bigger than all the other fish I know. Does that count?
(I notice the swordfish approaching. Wow, there's so many other fish who must have had this dream...)
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Helga notices the swordish approaching.
"Hello there. Have you had the strange dream too?"

I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :D"Strange dream...?" he says. "Oh! Then all of you also... Yes, I definitely had it. There was a voice... I didn't remember until just now, but it said something about a place called Mystic Grotto... Oh, by the way, my name is Lancelot. It's nice to meet you."
A great Mascot Mook."Lancelot?" Helga finally gets up, swimming close to greet Lancelot. "What a lovely name. It's nice to meet you." She turns around to see the other creatures. "And all of you!"
I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :DA pardalocampus, a creature long forgotten to the outside world, swims up, her webbed forepaws paddling delicately through the water. "So I take it I'm not the only one who had that dream?" she says, her eyes wide and confused.
Welcome to my new ITT. In this one, we go on a fantasy adventure where you can be any kind of sea creature, even mythical ones like mermaids and selkies.
Imagine this. You're just a humble sea creature of some sort, limited to your domain in the ocean. You might be a deep sea creature that can't go too far up. You might be a tropical fish that needs warmth. You might even be a creature that humans think only exists in legends, and you spend your time hiding from them.
But that all changes one night. You have a dream where a mysterious voice tells you that you have been granted with great powers, and you can now travel anywhere in the ocean. Temperature, water pressure, you don't have to worry about any of those. Even if you're an animal that can't normally swim, now you can. And if you're a mythical creature in hiding, the voice encourages you to try exploring. You wake up, and you're filled with a strange new sense of power. You decide to see if the voice in your dream was right.
So you leave your home and start to explore. After swimming around the ocean for a while, you might end up at a kelp forest...
A giant, greenish octopus darts through the ocean frantically. Counting her tentacles, she's almost as tall as a three-story building.
An orca is chasing her. The orca is just about to bite her, when she releases a cloud of ink and jets away, leaving the orca behind, coughing. "You can't run forever! (cough) My master and I will get you even(cough cough) eventually, Helga!" he shouts as Helga gets away.
After swimming for several minutes, with the orca too far away to be seen, Helga finally stops in a kelp forest. She lies down on the seafloor and sighs sadly.
I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :D
