Suggestion: Bloodsucking Bats

Note: Sorry about the duplicate thread, had to make a new one because the first one had a misspelled title.

I'm thinking Bloodsucking Bats could use an image- here are three images showing Pokedex entries for the Pokemon Golbat, which all talk about it's blood-sucking habits.

1, 2, and 3. 1 is a bit blurry because I had to re-size it, but a better quality version might be around somewhere. I personally prefer 3 because of the creepy factor.

I guess I can see what you're saying. Oh well, maybe someone else will have an idea, or we just BUPKIS it.

There might be something from the anime with a Golbat feasting on the blood of another Pokemon.

Definitely not a BUPKIS page. A Real Life photo of a vampire bat might be the easiest way to picture this.

Couldn't find a good picture from the anime, but I did take the other suggestion on, and here's what I found;

1, 2, and 3. Is it weird I think they're all kind of adorable?

I like the second one the best. First is grainy and the last one is unclear.

Are they free to use, though?

Honestly, I can't really find where they came from with a reverse image search. However, they seem to be used on multiple websites each.

3 is a little too real. Like, I know it's just blood, but it's real blood, and the splatter on the bat's face is a little horrifying. 2 is fine though.

Wait is this trope just "vampire bats exist"? Or All Bats Are Vampire Bats? Or Vampire Bats Are Scary?

^ I was the trope sponsor, so let me explain, the trope is the portrayal of fictional bats and their equivalents as being monsterous blood-suckers, which is both unrealistic (as most bats don't suck blood) and an easy way to turn bats into enemies.

So both the second and third definitions? How does a real vampire bat fit either of those?

Well, they are real life blood-sucking bats, after all. That said, I'm not opposed to getting an example from media, it's just that I've found nothing good for it.

Most bats don't drink blood and the ones that do can be scary, but not as much as often portrayed, and they're certainly not evil.

I...know that? Vampire bats though, which are in the pictures, do drink blood, so I'm not quite sure what you're getting that.

Edit: Sorry if I came off as rude here, I'm just genuinely confused as to what you're trying to say. Are you opposed to showing a real life picture because people might not identify it as a vampire bat specifically? Because drinking blood is just a thing some bats do so it doesn't have any meaning in real life?

Because the trope is "all bats are vampire bats" and "vampire bats are creepy", not just "vampire bats exist".

But if this might be getting out of the scope of IP.

Your suggestions are fine.

I would prefer a drawn image of a bat or bat monster with bloodstains around their mouth or something like that. Sounds a bit specific, but I think such an image could exist.

I personally don't like the idea of real life images for this. I think showing actual blood might be a bit gross.
