There’s no indication at all that Kahn is back from the dead. He’s filling the same role as Goro in X. Non-story DLC character.

Speaking of which, character predictions based on plot are borderline useless because X already proved that NRS is more than willing to draw a heavy line between the story mode and the regular multiplayer in terms of characters’ status.

Not again. What's odd is that I'm damn sure they reused his voice clips anyway, same with Richard Epcar's Raiden. So either actual voice recording still hasn't started (doubtful) or NR are just lazy asses.

There's a stark difference between Mortal Kombat's case and BlazBlue's case. Mortal Kombat is an American game, for complete starters. English dub is a given.

Do not compare MK with BB. Or any American game with a Japanese one for that particular matter.

Now, back to the trailer... Is the old timeline bleeding into the new one????

Maybe they are using Hollywood actors for voices?

It's very unlikely that the voice recording didn't start yet. It would be silly if the VA cast is told they have to record the whole dialogue around 4 months before the game is out.

What if the horror rep is Pennywise? I guess it'd be pretty weird to have a literary character turned movie character beating the crap out of the other kombatants, but the movie characters in X made me the sky's the limit here.

Oh man MK 11is gonna be on Switch. MK character for Smash ? :p

The music's not my cup of tea and the gore has gone from "oooh, that makes me uncomfortable" to "well that just looks silly."

Throwing Shao Kahn at me is not getting a Day 1 buy out of me. Though, the possibility of more timeline hijinks has my attention. Definitely didn't expect that. I want to say it's just a trailer thing but... we never really did confirm that the old timeline was erased did we... just that Shao Kahn brought about some nebulous form of Armageddon.

And if Raiden can send himself back in time moments before getting killed who says other gods can't.

I don't see why everyone is freaking out over the rap music in the trailer when Mortal Kombat X's announcement trailer also had a rap song.

It's an especially bad one.

X's wasn't anything noteworthy either but it was better than that. Most nerds on the internet seem to hate rap in general, so it's a no-win situation if that go that route anyway unless it's from a Japanese guy.

I had the same thought, but Wiz's style definitely isn't as mellow as the tune in the 11 trailer is. I doubt that helps the case.

I didn’t hate the trailer music.

I think it was commissioned specifically for the reveal, too.

So yeah. Time stuff. Neat.

So thinks I check from the trailer:

So Scorpion and Raiden start the fight in the air, which means maybe we will see air kombat again, who knows.

-it seen you will pick weapon for the arena as Dark raiden did it, also it seen Scorpion will use is sword in some atacks.

-Is intersting seen how Raiden reck that Scorpion with punch...a brutality?.

-this UMK 3 Scorpion just apear oour of nowhere, between this and the gigant glass clock, it feel a very crisis of infinite earth are going to happen.

About the rap....well, I disagree, rap can have good sons but...this one wasnt, it feel too low key to be used with two people beating each other.

The gimmick seems to be a mix of MKX and Injustice 2. You can customize variations.

Time shenanigans are a good route to take Mortal Kombat. You can have more story mode fatalities and than just roll them back.

Cool trailer, laaaame music.

BUT

Dvorrah is back if that rumor is true. No ferra torr is a little sad but I think ferra's arcade ending might be canon and she'll be a the new torr with a new rider.

As incredibly well done the trailer is, I'm a little worried because the trailer gave me the same vibes like Deception & Armageddon as much as I like those games. Not helping that Nether Realm seems to be more interested in making it more gimmicky which I guess is fine at the end of the day.

If anything, this new timeline trilogy seen to compress the old canon: MK 9 is 1,2 and 3, MKX is MK 4 and MKDA and now this one will be MKD and MKA.

But yeah, I will guess MK will take the rout of injustice and used alternate timlines

Crisis on Infinite Earthrealms

The elder gods also used Scorpion as their champion to go after Onaga.

In the old timeline Maiden did become an Elder God, but stepped down from the position in Deadly Alliance so he could get involved.

The elder gods tend to not get dirrectly involved unless they feel threatened.

Hmmm... I see that if Raiden gets a Gender Flip, he becomes 'Maiden'. Ooh, pretty.

Wait, how is this Krisis on Infinite Earthrealms happening anyway? It can't be the main timeline bleeding into the X timeline. Most of the kombatants were dead at the beginning of MK9.

...including Scorpion, I'm pretty sure his head was split open by Kung Lao's hat.

Wouldn't be the first time scorpion was thought to be dead. His deadly alliance ending comes to mind.
