Hunger Games Simulation: Beyond the Possibilities

Given the split opinions across the board, I'm personally in favour of putting this down to a poll once more. All that's clear is that we agree some change should be made.

Good news is that we're in the process of putting a poll (possibly two) together right now, so stay tuned.

Regarding changing the Death Battle system as well, since the new sim is flexible on roster sizes instead of being fixed (24/36/48 tributes), we're considering giving some leeway if the standard DB roster of 48 goes beyond that in the last qualifying season for it. I. E. if we have 47/48 Mass Murderers, but the season produces 2 or more MMs^note all non-technical MMs are qualified even if they're tied, then instead of reserving the excess MMs for the next DB, they can be included in the current DB. What I mean is that new sim DBs can start when there are at least 48 tributes.

I'm not sure about increasing the DB size to 60 or so because due to the variable number of qualifiers for that per season^note it's rare, but still possible to get nine MMs in one season like in OG S201, and even then, that was a regular 48-tribute season, it might increase the risk of collision with other themed/special seasons, especially if we implement the change at the same time as any BR changes.

But this DB change is another discussion for another time.

Personally, I want to see Top 3 qualifiers changed to Top 5, and keep the number of seasons for each BR, 12, the same. 60 Battle Royale tributes for each cycle.

Eh, I wouldn't exactly think it would increase a risk. Like it's kinda hard to predict when the Death Battle season shall occur.

Yes, I know this isn't probably the best time to talk about it, but just wanted to give my two cents on that statement.

Alright, we've got some good discussion happening so far, but now it's time to settle things with a couple polls. Vote here to determine how many qualifiers each Battle Royale should have, and vote here to determine how to expand the BR roster. You have ~24 hours to vote on each poll.

My votes were both for "other": I had the thought of varying the number of podium spots based on the number of tributes in a season, rather than having a strict set number. My idea was Top Three, plus another one for every 16 tributes beyond 48 (i.e. Top Four for 64-79 tributes, Top Five for 80-95 tributes, Top Six for 96-111 tributes, and so on) to keep podium spots at nearly the same relative rarity, and then size the Battle Royales to fit since we no longer need a set number.

In any case, my preference is that the Battle Royale size is greater than the typical number of players, so at least there's a chance everyone gets a spot rather than some people inevitably getting left out.

• Kazui Soa wards off curses with holy water, becoming a Blessed Kazui Soa! But is he greased and rustproof too?
• Would you look at that! First blood! Spring Lucina just sprung up and completely crushed the crash test dummy! Now that's a springy step!
• The screenshot dies a lot? You'd think it wouldn't have made it here in that case...
• Good old Sexy Legs Cat, working those legs!
• Alma's got a gun! Who's she gonna assault with it?
• Spons strikes Lilac down, but her determination makes her undying! ...Better not start judging other people for killing while being fine with making kills yourself. I'm watching you, water dragon!
• The Gorillaz apologise in advance for any kills they make! No hard feelings; it's just a game!
• Faye's rich! And the President has no idea how it happened! The Arena's a mysterious place, huh?
• YEOUCH! Ogerpon, Terapagos, R-1, and Minos Prime all gang up on the Sith Trooper and brutalise him! He's not getting up from that!
• And Zero skewers Tails with a fencing taunt! Bet they're going to sap all his buildings now!

• Now we can watch the Hunger Games Simulation in White King-O-Vision, where everyone's a chess piece! Fun turnabout from the White King's last run, huh?

• And the Squnt might need a nerf, seeing as it dominated Season 267! Gotta keep the game fair!
• Bing Chi-Ling hopes to find a bug! Let's hope it's a fun one and not a game-ruining one, huh?
• Whoa, the Simulator's just straight-up rejected Oni! Too bad for him!
• Graham's Number scans over fourteen and a half million futures just to find the one where it wins! But that's a small number to it, huh?
• Adu Du's become best friends with his podium! That's a change of pace from his "neutral run" last time, huh?
• Better watch out, Paddywhack! Zote's coming for you!
• Rui and Nene successfully Fake Out a bowl of soup! Not like it was gonna move anyway, but you do you!
• And Sam, the capybara, Crimson Chin, the cassowary, and Orihime take off running! Look at them go! See you when the day begins proper!

Day 1◊

• The cassowary mocks President Snow's deaths so much that he decides to kill himself again! You know that'll only encourage them, Snow!
• Guess this wasn't a future where Graham's Number wins! It waves goodbye as it gets buried in debris! So long, Graham's Number!
• Machina X Flayon and Zote have got passing grades in their classes! Good on them! Study hard and you might end up a field scientist like me!
• Sam's playing Eagle Golf! Couldn't get an albatross, huh?
• The White King picks up his own head to get an extra life! Funny, normally losing your head does the opposite, but then again, he is a chess piece!
• The tomato soup tries to rub a table lamp to summon a genie, but gets nothing! How embarrassing!
• Come on, Sexy Legs Cat, I could've solved that puzzle! Lucky for him, the Civilian shuts off Rui and Nene's flamethrowers before he gets fried.
• So Ogerpon and Terapagos wonder if R-1 ate paint chips when it was younger? My question isn't "why?", but "how?"!
• And some rocks are killed by falling Spons, Zero, and Paddywhack! Looks like they've avenged Graham's Number, at least!
• The capybara wants cheese! Anyone got some to spare?
• Lucina finds pictures of Bing Chi-Ling while looking for "Trainer: Ultimate Battle" screenshots! Come on, Google, get your act together!
• Orihime socks it to Hikari with a buttery sock!
• Lilac tries to kill Moff Gideon, but doesn't do a good job at it! Adu Du calls her out on it - and you know he knows how to kill someone properly since he got ten of them last time!
• Kazui Soa gets buried on the cursed burial grounds again, and comes back psychotic again! You should've known better, Kevin!
• Nice, Alma! At least, the Squnt thinks so.
• Gorillaz sing the Cowboy Bebop theme while eating carrots! Try not to choke!

• Faye's cut off the Sexy Legs Cat's sexy legs! Luckily, Minos Prime has stopped being selfish and stitches them back on! Good on you, Minos Prime!
• Ogerpon and Terapaon just taped a banana to a wall and called it art! Can you believe it? That's not art!
• The White King must be confused, because he just tried to wipe out all kings! Lucky for him, he used a cursed scroll and summoned them instead!
