I wouldn't find Romione's finger-crossing "unremarkable". They crossed each other's fingers and are hoping that they wouldn't resort to drinking Felix Felicis!

This season's death rate wasn't set to Very High, btw.

Anyway, rolled for the nom school, and John got yeeted out of Laser and Meme School for killing Sony with lasers and making a meme out of it!

Also, did this season actually start on May 16 (the day before Tsukasa's birthday) or September 8 (the day before Emu's birthday)? Either way, I guess this is the in-universe reason it's not really a Valentine's Season.
