I think people are overestimating how dead Starscream actually is.

[up] Well the season trailer clearly spoils its not gonna stick but it doesn't change the fact that Megatron was just brutal above all other Megatron's here.

I just watched it. Yeah. He's critically injured, but he's not dead. Good scene, though.

Megatron doesn't screw around. It's almost a Reality Ensues in regards to the whole The Starscream archetype considering that Starscream didn't seek to overthrow Megatron for millions of years until his demotion, and when he did, he gets killed for it with none of Megatron's Klingon Promotion policy at play.

This is one of my favorite episodes so far.

Glad that I see more people talking about the show in this thread.

I will personally be in charge of posting the YouTube releases of this season this time. If I will not be available for various reasons, I will tell you.

I haven't seen that kind of brutality in this show. Megatron just gave Starscream a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown for the ages! I'm honestly surprised and shocked! Well done, Cyberverse crew!

Do not worry, though. We still have 16 episodes to go (this season is as long as the first: 18 episodes; and don't complain).

So I haven’t seen much of Starscream in this series: how useful was he compared to previous versions?

Did he screw up a lot before the attempted betrayal or had he been relatively competent but Megs just shat on him anyway?

[up]If the flashbacks we saw so far tell us anything, he was sometimes competent (as seen in season 1), but mostly failed at his tasks (as seen in season 2). But he will have a bigger role this season.

In conclusion, Starscream here is overall and so far... in between success and failure. That's just my opinion. Or I am wrong.

EDIT: Wait! I forgot that Megatron abused of him in the past, and that because of Starscream failing him many times. So, my point above may be futile. I... I just don't know how to explain in better words than those...

@Zeromaeus

No, Starscream is pretty dead after that scene. But here’s the thing: it’s Starscream. In every Transformers continuity, he seem to always come back from the dead despite getting killed off. He returns as a ghost/spark in the G1/Beast Wars continuity. He gets revived via an All Spark fragment in Animated. And in the Ri D continuity he manage to avert his death via a ground bridge (I think that was it, its been a while since I watched both shows). Basically that Seeker has the same tendency of reviving like Optimus Prime.

His spark chamber wasnt destroyed. We have no evidence his computer brain was destroyed. Megatron even gave Starscream the courtesy of tossing his body away so he can auto repair or someone can find and fix him.

I've been catching up with the USA Video On The Demand of Cyberverse, so I'll jot down some notes:

Sea of Tranquility: The Medias Res opening was a tad jarring, at first, but I'm glad the series quickly established that the Autobot and Deception War on Earth eventually became common knowledge, via comedic social media interludes no less.

Bad Moon Rising: Going to have to agree with the consensus - Megatron's revenge beatdown against Starscream was absolutely brutal.

The Visitor: Mostly a Filler episode to provide some brevity after the last one, which ends up setting up this series' tone harkening back to Generation One's more surreal episodes.

Bring Me The Spark of Optimus Prime: This episode runs as a counterpart to "The Visitor", showing an equally disarray state of Decepticons. Extending the social media gimmick to the Decepticons was a tad hilarious, thanks to comments such as "I'm just here for the ban" and "#Starscreamgate".

Trials: "This is...strange" is the sanest statement Prime has spoken throughout this episode. Cheetor in this continuity, a Not So Stoic chosen protector of the Allspark, is oddly passive about stopping Starscream from getting their hands on the Allspark by waltzing in on his trials. Megatron's reaction to the whole ordeal was amusing though.

Dark Birth: We get a little more lore about Cheetor and the Allspark's place in the general lore, along with the extremist plan of Starscream and his third party of Seekers.

[up]I've saw them too! Until "Secret Science".

Let me complete you:

  • "Parley": Optimus has some advice from Maccadam after he fails to reach an agreement with Megatron for both sides to be in peace. He is determined to do it again, to stop Starscream togheter. But the Autobots and the Decepticons have in their circuits for so long hatred to each other that the peace treaty is ruined (actually, Bludgeon killing Slipstream after she warned Windblade of Starscream's plans and insanity started this). Again. Poor, poor Optimus Prime...
  • "Starscream's Children": Screamer's Scraplets invade the Nemesis, and the Autobots stop them. Barely. Screamer loses his armor.
  • "Spotted": Cheetor tries to fit with the Autobots. Bumblebee teaches him how to be a stealthy scout just like him. And it pays off pretty well later.
  • "Secret Science": Shockwave forces Wheeljack to help him with some inventions. Wheeljack does escape, but Shockwave put a Xanatos Gambit on him all along: he knew Wheeljack wanted to escape, and it was his plan all along obtaining his remote controller. Also, Shockwade mentions that he will be overthrowin' Megs if he will continue to be incompetent.

This season's pretty great!

Today I saw the Transformers: Cyberverse episodes "Infinite Vendetta" and "I Am the Allspark"...

Sky-Byte (nah, it's without the hyphen even in the credits) is here! And also, wow, did Starscream killed the Seekers loyal to him and also nearly killed the Autobots and the Decepticons?!

On today's episode of Transformers: Cyberverse, "The Visitor", Bumblebee searches for answers about the mysterious creature from the moon. Will he do it? Also, Grimlock goes crazy fast after drinking Wheeljack's hyperfuel.

So wait.

Are there....no humans in this series period?

Cause...that's the first time since Beast Wars for the west and I guess Beast Wars Neo for Japan.

It's...a little weird too.

[up] There was one human in the episode "Teletraan-X" where a human child mistakingly believed that the poses that Windblade and Bumblebee made in front of a poster was an actual movie being promoted. Considering that all future human encounters are always off-screen and usually by human cameras, it's quite easy to assume that it cost money and time to make CGI human models for an 11 minute show that's all about advertising the toys of the Transformers.

No human sidekicks in a mainline Transformers show is interesting. At least, Cyberverse has an excuse to do that: the Transformers must find the Allspark (and then escape from Earth and back to Cybertron). It would have been pointless to have a human sidekick here if I put it like that.

I just hope it doesn't become a Franchise Original Sin.

Beast Wars had no human sidekicks except that one episode.

This show has none.

Ergo, it is better than Beast Wars.

I chalk up the lack of humans to a combo of the large Transformers cast & the shorter run-time than normal.

Though it be interesting to see how the humans are reacting to the war happening all over the world unlike in previous shows where it was just confined to a couple specific places.

[up] Yeah that does sound like good reason for the lack of human characters. Just like with those Combiner Wars web series that came out years ago.

I mean with the whole strong media preference the Transformers generated, I do wonder how the humans actually feel about their planet becoming a forefront in the Cybertronian War. If not this season then perhaps the third.

Plus this shows focus is expressly about the Cybertronian's.

Season 1 was about Cyberton's history as well as Bumblebee & Windblade's relationship while season 2 brought in over 10 characters. We just had an episode that focused on the Con's introducing Bludgeon's 1st animated appearance, Shockwave & Soundwave's sabotaging rivalry, Lockwon & Clobber's place on the food chain, Slipstream wondering whats up with the Seeker's, & Megatron being willing to appeal to humanity as the good guy for once.

A lot of stuff for an 11 minute episode and that's just for the villains. There's really not enough time to bring in a human companion because the focus is entirely on the robot relationships.
