"You need to hide somewhere safe my friend, can risk you falling in fell hand or contracting the VA." I told my companion

"No... If you say so." the Pokemon fleed into the nearby woods.

As Niles asserts his denial to follow, Mila is suddenly struck by a recollection of a few days prior, when she chased after one of L'arachel's lackeys for a promise of getting Niles back. To think she never properly tore into him for that... but beside the point. Waiting until a shudder leaves her body, only now noticing that it'd been working its way up from her feet, Mila finally makes eye contact with the messenger just long enough to shake her head in disagreement.
"I... I'm not taking that offer. If he knows as much as you say, then why make it sound so risky? I'm sorry."
Mila turns back to Nyquil as soon as she's done, her focus still shifting somewhat and her tail flicking back and forth faster than before. She really needed to figure out what was causing this, it wasn't just anxiety.
"So, I don't really know how to spar, but— was there something you wanted to do? Or just practice? I'm not sure."

"Well, I wanted to practice, but I hadn't done much before. So out of the people I trust to help me with this, you're really the only one who... trains."
Mila decides to try to keep a bit of practice while she figures out what else to do, following Reimi's instructions from earlier as she tries to build up a charge to the point that she feels ready to release, then trying to drop it back down to a resting state. It's slightly easier without having to try to attack, but it still takes concerted effort and distracts her momentarily.

"Oh. Well, sure, I can spar with you." I get up and- (wait, hold on.) I take off my cap and gently place it on the ground against a wall. (I don't want it getting damaged.) I pat it and then turn back towards Mila. "Alright. Ready."

Mila turns to face Nyquil, trying to prepare herself to fight. She starts to build up energy, but as soon as she realizes what she's about to start it diffuses and her arms go limp. It takes a moment of her staying there silently before she can explain to the Quilava.
"Sorry, I'm— what if I hurt you? I'm not the best with my control yet."

I too finally notice the presence of this Pelipper. Marsha thinks it might be bad news but...it isn't the Pidegot carrier so I definitely have to discount that as an actual possibility.
No...they sent a Pidgeot out to find out what was going on. Far as I know they should not even be there yet.
Dark Pulse, of course. I uh...kinda overdid it that time, but you get the point. Think of something Dark, then it'll spill out.

Speaking of which, the Pidegot carrier has made it to Blissparce. After passing by two groups of peculiar mons he lands and perches on a tree next to the beach.

(But what? I try to imagine something terrible happening to someone, but I just cannot bring myself to do that.)

(I think back through the many books I have read to see if one could fuel a Dark Pulse. Some of them were certainly dark. I recall one story ended with the book's antagonist getting his back legs pinned under a great rock he had intended to use to attack the hero, an Escavalier called Sir Callister, with. The villain begged for help and mercy, but the hero simply left him there even though, all things considered, the villain wasn't that evil and could have been helped. A very dark ending that made me question how heroic Sir Callister was up until then.)
