Anymore opinions on the Zelda entries I brought up on the last page?

The only pairings I'd say are valid for Legend of Zelda are Link/Marin in Link's Awakening (and Zelda doesn't appear in that game, so I'm not sure that counts as not creator approved), Link/Midna in the context of Twilight Princess only, and Link/Mipha maybe in the western fandom for Breath of the Wild. And even in that last one, it's not like Link/Zelda is unpopular.

Those I can live with, though Link/Marin doesn't have an entry, and I have never played Link's Awakening enough to make one. Plus if Zelda doesn't appear whose his love interest there. However, Zelda/Link is not this it's canon, and the creator preferred couple of video games. So that entry needs to go.

Been a while, but I'm here because of YMMV.Dexters Laboratory. All of these are ZCE, and I'm wondering if any of them even count.

• Fan-Preferred Couple:
  • Mandark and Dee Dee.
  • Dexter and Lee Lee has a small following.
  • For some fans, Dexter and Mandark.
  • Dexter's Mom and Action Hank.

The only ships I know are really popular are Mandark and Dee Dee and Dexter and Mandark. I can't tell off the top of my head which is more popular, but Mandark and Dee Dee is at least canon on Mandark's side, and there's a little bit of Ship Tease in a few episodes, but other episodes depict Dee Dee as not interested in Mandark at all. So their canonicity is a Depending on the Writer thing. Mandark and Dee Dee also both had alternate love interests in different episodes.

Mandark/Dee doesn't count the Ship Tease, plus all the alternate love interests being mostly one offs, leaves a big hint that creators preferred, but I am not sure if they did so enough to allow Dexter/Mandark to count. Looking around the usual places the Dexter/Mandark one is slightly more popular. The others aren't even close to being popular enough.

So these entries from Live-Action Films:

• The Hunger Games has Cato/Clove, as opposed to Cato/Glimmer.
  • Johanna/Finnick became quite popular as well, especially since Finnick's canon Love Interest Annie is barely seen and mostly exists just to be a Satellite Love Interest to Finnick. It helps their actors had great chemistry, especially in Catching Fire and both characters are very active members of the rebellion.

Now the first one I don't mind, but the second doesn't count. In fact the same troper, TheLuckyCat, had already added an entry to Literature, which I deleted because the canon one is bigger on almost every site. He then added it to the films a couple of days later.

I have literally never heard of Hank/Dexter's Mom being popular outside Rule 34 artists, thanks to Hank being a huge black guy and Dexter's Mom being... Dexter's Mom. No knowledge of anyone supporting them as an actual couple. Do they even interact in the show?

I don't think so. And I couldn't find any evidence of the ship being popular anywhere, like anywhere.

Also a troper chaned the Doctor Who entries to this:

• Within Doctor Who, one of the most popular pairings is the Doctor/the Master, with Three, Four, and Five with their respective Masters are most common, and the age of both characters goes a long way to explaining their popularity. During the time of Ten's tenure, there was also a dedicated fanbase for shipping him with his respective Master. The introduction of the female version of the Master, known as Missy, who openly referred to the Doctor as her boyfriend in one episode and snogs Twelve in another (something not even Clara ever did) has created another fan-preferred pairing. Since Series 12 there has been a rise in shipping the female Thirteenth Doctor with yet another incarnation of The Master, once more a man. Other popular 'ships for Thirteen include her companion Yasmin 'Yaz' Khan and Captain Jack Harkness.

Now we already cut the Yaz and Jack one. The problem is Jack/Thirteen is not really that popular, and Yaz/Thirteen, while popular, is given legit Ship Tease. And doesn't have any form of canon computation.

It actually does kind of surprise me come to think of it that Finnick’s canon pairing with Annie is more popular than his fan one with Johanna.

Also, can’t imagine the Crossover Shipping we’re gonna get with the prequel movie when that comes out. Any already exist with the prequel book now?

No most of the shipping are about the original books. Next to none for the prequel.

I think that’ll change when the movie comes out. We’ll see.

I saw a strangely written FPC entry under the YMMV for Into the Woods by the way when I was putting in The Witch’s MB entry.

Presumably this one:

• Fan-Preferred Couple: A weird example, as Baker/Baker's Wife isn't disliked, really, but the fandom generally agrees that after the Baker's Wife dies, after some mourning, the Baker moves on with Cinderella after they agree to live platonically rebuilding a home with Red and Jack. About 90% of the fanfiction ships them.

I'd say if there's more fanfic for the fanon couple than the canon couple, it could still count.

It feels like The Baker and Cinderella are implied at the end of the play/movie, so it’s technically also canon then, isn’t it?

Yeah. I don't see a reason to cut. Though looking at AO3, the Baker/Baker's wife is more popular there. However on Fanfiction.net, Baker/Cinderella is bigger. So again I don't see any reason to say it doesn't count.

However you have a point. It is very heavily implied that they are canon by the end. So they might be creator preferred.

Yes. That is accurate. More fanfics, fan art, fan vids, bigger fanbase on tumblr, and overall just bigger in general. Surprising, but true.

Again, considering Finnick’s dynamic with Johanna is shown way more and given more detail, it’s again surprising to me. Sorry if I’m a broken record.

Again. Might be surprising, but it's true. Annie/Finnick is far bigger than Johanna/Finnick. It's not even like Harry/Hermione where it's a time capsule one. Or Bella/Jacob where their fans were very vocal.

Katniss/Peeta is the biggest for the fandom overall.
