I would totally say that Richie and Eddie is supposed to be Creator Preferred. That's what the movie implied, so it was probably meant to be perceived as a romantic arc. It's like with Father of the Bride (2022) implying Cora/Vanessa heavily even without romantic scenes beyond dancing together.

Okay so I don't doubt fans like Ichigo more with Ryou and Quiche than Masaya but I'm not sure we can actually list them both? Who's more popular?

Quiche seems to be her preferred partner based on fanfics. However, I am not familiar with the work so make of that what you will.

So I found this on YMMV.Robin Hood (BBC series section):

• Fan-Preferred Couple: The Guy/Marian ship ended with one half of it murdering the other. Doesn't stop the shippers.

I had never heard of this show before but I did some digging on the normal places and by most accounts the canon Robin/Marian pairing is more popular than this. Like it's close mind you but the canon, assuming that like most versions Robin Hood and Marian is the canon one, is the biggest if only by a small margin.

From what I can tell, sounds like a cut then.

At least when it comes to those Skye/Daisy was shipped with, Lincoln is low on the totem poll. Haha.

I mean yeah he is but that is neither here nor there.

@Bull: Fans don't like Masaya since he's kinda boring. The only thing interesting about him is being the host for the True Big Bad Deep Blue. In contrast, Quiche or Dren has a more Foe Yay Shipping thing.

mir: Okay in that case from what I can tell I say that make it for Ichigo/Quiche which from what I can tell is the biggest if only barely.

Well on AO3, for example, her and Quiche have 58 of the total 308 and her and Ryou only have 16. On FF.net, her and Ryou have over 700 (29 if you specify it to marked as pairing) but her and Quiche, who is listed under his manga translation name Kish, have over 1800 fics (220 if you narrow it down to those marked as that pairing). And this just a few of the examples. I would prefer to see the state in the works home country websites but seeing as I am not Japanese I couldn't even begin to tell you there.

Did a check on Pixiv and Ryou/Ichigo had 3, Masaya/Ichigo had 6, and Quiche/Ichigo had 151. I think it's safe to say that's the most popular ship.

• WordGirl: In canon, Becky has a crush on Oblivious to Love Scoops while Tobey has a Villainous Crush on her superhero alter ego WordGirl, meaning that neither couple is really canon. However, Becky/Tobey is easily more popular than Becky/Scoops due to how much they have in common and how Adorkable Tobey can be about his crush at times. It also helps that they do have some scattered moments of legitimately getting along despite Tobey being a villain, such as WordGirl admitting (in a very roundabout and reluctant fashion) to enjoying their Not a Date in "Have You Seen the Remote?".

As the entry says, they're both one-sided crushes and neither is creator-preferred.

Then there's also this one from YMMV.Word Girl:

  • Becky/Tobey is easily more popular than Becky/Scoops. Neither one is official, though.
  • Dr. Two-Brains/WordGirl is growing steadily more popular among the older fans. This one would probably need an age-up from Word Girl in order to avoid Squick though.

The first is like the other one, so it should go, but idk about the second. It doesn't seem very popular on AO3 but the page mentions it being bigger on Deviant Art? It's probably less creator preferred than the other two canonical crushes, but they're still not canon so maybe it doesn't matter either way.

Yeah as a fan of the show, cut all of that as there is no canon one or at least they are equally non canon

So I did the Avatar: The Last Airbender swaps I talked about here on Western Animation with a link to that post, as I had only gotten a couple of replies which was supportive and they're creator preferred pairings needed to be mentioned. I hope that is okay.

Alley Oop. Being as your the expert on Fire Emblem here maybe you can confirm rather the recent additions to it's tree on Video Games:

• Pairing Chrom and the male Robin is almost if not just as popular as with the female Robin, many claim their supports where they show comradery to each other feel more romantic than the female Robin/Chrom's supports that attempt for more comedic interactions.
• Ingrid/Dorothea can't end together as their support ends at B-level, but not only does that support contains plenty of Les Yay, they share a paralogue where Dorothea is very affectionate towards Ingrid and the latter is thankful for all she's done for her, leading to a lot of the fandom to ship them anyway.

One sounds like it's not more popular and the other sounds like it has no Creator preferred one.

Chrom/M Robin can stay as it's still the most popular ship for Male Robin.

Ingrid/Dorothea doesn't because while it's surprisingly popular for a ship that's on the crackier side due to seeming Incompatible Orientation, Dorothea/Petra (which might as well be canon) and Dorothea/Edelgard (both are canonically bisexual, but their supports and ending are explicitly nonromantic) are both more popular than it.

Anymore opinions on the Robin Hood examples?

If the canon one is still more popular, than it should be cut. Even if it's close, I think it needs to be decently more popular before we can call it fan-preferred.

Hi so this is hidden on Animated Films:

• Eventual mutual respect has made Rattlesnake Jake and Rango this.

Now this does seem to be the most popular ship at least on FF.Net but doesn't mention a creator preferred one. Do either of these have one? From my very hazy memory Beans is Rango's correct.

Yeah, if his canon pairing with Beans is by far the most popular, scrap it. Can't imagine Rango would be a work prone to this anyway. It's pretty solid in its narrative without really having room for anything else.
