I particularly like Lo Z fanfiction, it mostly lends itself to epic stories, when it's not being Male!Sheik x Link romance... Eugh.

The Ocarina Of Time An Oo T novelization... It's incomplete, which can be infuriating, but it had so much potential.

Hit List An AU where Ganon decides to start a school shooting and Link is the only one who can stop it. It's way more tasteful than it sounds, believe me. Plus, it delves on the nature of being the legendary hero, and Ganon's motivation is surprisingly sociological. Insane, but sociological.

What Makes A Hero Yet another novelization, this time, it's TP's turn. Noticing a pattern? Unlike the others, this one is finished, and a pseudo sequel is being written.

I don't have any Legend of Zelda fanfics I've read that I can recommend, but I can shamelessly self promote since the poster originator did it.

Legend of Zelda: Zelda's Honor: Ganondorf is imprisoned. The barriers protecting Hyrule have broken down and a new evil from the south emerges threatening all who live. Link, Zelda and others must escape this oncoming menace and find a way to overcome it before all of Hyrule and the rest of the world is lost. Time is running out.

This story is rated M (mature) for a reason! This is adult themed in nature and has war, violence, themes of existence and death, torture, rape, and of course, sex and lemons. Got as many awesome reviews for it as I got reviled ones. So I've heard all comments across the spectrum of reviewers about it. Its a finished product so I'm done with it and I've moved onto my next fanfic. I write to please myself and if anyone happens to enjoy it along with me, more power to us both, yes?

I've had a Zelda fanfiction idea in my head for year (since 2003 when Wind Waker was out), detailing the events of Link's life post Majoras Mask.

He does find Navi again, but also meets with Tatl as well, and those two immediately take a dislike to each other. The entire thing was actually split into what could have been a trilogy (the first story, a sequel made up of smaller stories) and a finale that saw what brought an end to that Link's life, and what Navi and Tatl do afterwards.

When Twilight Princess came out and the split timeline theory became prominent, I re-adapted it to take that into account.

It had a number of odd ideas in it, including the thought that some fairies, can become powerful enough to changed into Great Fairies (which actually happens to Navi and Tatl during the course of the first part) of which the first step is become human (or Kokiri sized) and physically growing like them. Later on, I'd reveal that some fairies can also do this through fusing together, leading to the final revelation that in the future, the two of them would become the Great Fairy Queen seen in Wind Waker (because I made the mistake of believing she was coloured Green when she was actually blue; the idea was that Navi's blue and Tatl's yellow would make the green colour of the queen).

When it was revealed Wind Waker was a totally different timeline, I changed the idea to the Great Fairy of Twilight Princess instead (who actually is green mind you).

I was also gonna have Link use the Master Sword while wearing the Fierce Diety Mask.

Never came close to solidifying any of those ideas, but it's actually something I could still try if I find the time. When you have an idea in your head for more than ten years, you want to see it done with.

I've posted this a couple of times in other threads. But I really like this story. It's an excellent modern day story that basically follows another incarnation of Demise's curse.

I've actually come up with something of a Zelda fanfic that sort of mirrors the divide between Numenoreans in LOTR: Basically, there's a new Link and whatnot, but the threat isn't Ganondorf (at first). Instead, Hyrule is invaded by the Dark Hylians, who were banished from Hyrule by the Gods and now want to take what they see as their rightful place. It'd be a straight up war fic, they'd be led by a guy that's essentially a mix between Zelda and Link (a gifted statesman that can unite his people behind him, and a peerless warrior with a special, magic sword), and whatnot. Idk if it'd be a good idea, though.

Anything is possible if you believe! And actually put in the effort to make it good!

I just don't want it to be like a Mary Sue faction or something xD

I'm going to need more information before I can give decent advice on this.

Well I haven't started writing it xD It's still just a plot bunny. It would have a happy ending though, despite the devastation the war would bring.

If anyone is curious, yes this will be treated like an installment of the actual series. Real shame there aren’t more stories doing that.

I can't find many good Zelda-as-Sheik fics and it sucks. On a similar tract, I can't find much Link/Mipha. Plenty of Link/Siphon, not much Mipha.

It's interesting seeing people's differing opinions on fics. I was reading what I thought was a really good Zelimpa Dark Fic but I checked it on Ao 3 and the one review was a complaint that it was so OOC that it felt like a fantasy story with Zelda names plastered on. I didn't think it was OOC, though. 'Different strokes for different folks.

Really late to the party, but yes, Mipha/Link fics are shockingly sparse. At least the frequency of Ganondorf/Link fics has decreased, likely because Ganon is barely a character in BotW. It's not the homosexuality I have a problem with, it's the Foe Yay typically paired with rape and torture.

Anyway, the reason I popped in was because I wanted to know if anyone is interested in beta reading a Zelda sci-fi fic I'm writing. I've pretty much only done the prologue (five pages) so far, but I feel like I should see if it appeals to anyone before sinking too much time into it.

I've never had any interest in Ganondorf/Link but Ganondorf/Zelda is a guilty pleasure ship of mine. There are just so many possibilities with it.

Sci-fi Zelda AU, huh? What’s it about? I’m not up for being a beta reader, but I’m interested in hearing more about the premise.

Wow, I have not been good about keeping up with this thread.

In theory I can imagine good Zelda/Ganondorf fics, but in practice I've only seen ones that are either implicitly or explicitly rapey. I saw a couple pages from a comic where in Ocarina Zelda is sent to marry Ganondorf (to his surprise) in order to stave off war, but I never found the whole thing.

Once the Hylians achieve space travel, they discover that while Hylia has been keeping Demise trapped on their planet, his minions have been running roughshod over the rest of the universe. Every planet the Hylians find is completely conquered, with no one left to save, because none of them had Hylia's help. The Hylians are reclaiming the universe one planet at a time when they discover one that is in the process of being conquered, meaning there are people left to save. The demon army quickly adapts modern weapons, making it a much more difficult fight than any of the previous ones. And then some spoiler stuff. Oh, and all the "monster" races like bokoblins and bulblins have been freed from Ganon's corruption and are just normal members of the Kingdom of Hyrule now.

Are there any good fanfics for pre-OOT games?

I'm morbidly curious about seeing fics that deal with the aftermath of Adventure of Link.

I mean, there are now two Zeldas. Both of whom have been saved by Link (with all that that implies).

I think I've found a handful of them here and there, but there aren't many.

You practically trip over fics where the the different coloured Links lament their forbidden love with Dark Link or something else weird, but I'm curious about how a story with Two different versions of Zelda interacting would go.

I'm more curious as to why dying to Link's Shadow revives Ganon.

Because then Link is dead and Ganon's minions can collect his blood, which he probably lost a lot of if he lost that fight.

I was thinking more like 'maybe some part of Link wants to revive Ganon' but the thought of them stalking Link everywhere is unsettling too.

They can also collect his blood if he dies to lava or bottomless pits. Video game physics are funny XD

I read this chapter of this fanfiction which took place in Hyrule Warriors, and I need help finding a trope for it.

In it, Impa finds out Sheik is Zelda earlier on, in contrast to the game that she found out while they have to fight Wizzro. By doing so, the plot hole has been fixed, allowing Zelda to acknowledge that hiding herself as Sheik wasn't the brightest decision ever and Impa comforting her when she's feeling depressed from it.

Alright, so I wrote a Zelda badfic. Anyone want to read it and offer me insights on how it can be made worse? Remember the goal is to make it bad enough to be taken seriously, but not so bad that people know it's a Troll Fic from a mile away.

I'm halfway through Lotus Jewel but it's hard. It's just so... grim and Purple Prose filled.

I really like Offspring. It's so hard to find good Link/Mipha fics, especially ones with multiple chapters. Offspring is an AU where the two were married with kids prior to the Calamity. When Link awakens, he finds out that he has teenage kids.

I read this one fic for a bit, it was about Illia having to take over for Link as the hero.
