This week, producer Ross Putnam started a Twitter account called "femscriptintros", where he puts up examples of how women are introduced in the screenplays he's read. And nearly all of sound like terrible porn or are too concerned with emphasizing said lady is beautiful despite whatever traits she may have. Here's a Take Two podcast made today where he talks about it.

The highest-praised superheroes movies of 2018 are the ones featuring black leads.
Where there's life, there's hope.Infinity War has a black lead?
A… purple one. Does that count?
yes T'Challa aka Black Panther
New theme music also a boxHe really count as "Lead"?
Watch me destroying my countryNot... by a considerable margin. Plot-wise, Shuri's a more important character and she ultimately contributes nothing. T'Challa's really an Advertised Extra.
The only black actor who could potentially count as a lead I can think of was Gamora's Zoe Saldana which... maybe?
If you count that, and consider Spider-Verse (Miles), Deadpool 2 (Domino), and Black Panther the other top-praised movies then you can sorta say that, I guess? "Top-praised" and "lead" are both kinda ill-defined.
For the purpose of making the guy's statement true, I'm counting "lead" to mean "a main character" not "the main character." Like I said, "lead" is vague.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The closest thing to a "lead" in Infinity War is Thanos. He's more a Villain Protagonist than the Big Bad.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think the original comment was referring to Black Panther and Into the Spiderverse.
I know...I just wanted to point out, that there are three "most acclaimed comic book movies" this year, not just two.
Haven't watched DP 2 so I kinda forgot about it.
Also, I'm not a guy.
Where there's life, there's hope.Thanos has just one scene in IW from his POV. The closest thing the film has to leads are Thor, Wanda, Tony, and Gamora.
An article and trailer for Fast Color, an upcoming superhero film about three generations of black women with powers.
Oh my god YES THIS SOUNDS AWESOME.
That... sounds like an amazing premise.
Like the Incredibles on steroids.

...Please, have at least one named Jojo, the meme factor will give it popularity.
...Oh film is already done, it was already aired (and reviewers liked it more than the audience...) in festivals but it will aired in cinema by March.
Still sounds interesting.

Watch me destroying my country@Tuckerscreator
Three generations of superpowered individuals. I think Disney did it with the obscure television movie, Up, Up, and Away.

Fun fact, the dad in that move was played by Robert Townsend, who also played the cult classic, Meteor Man. Talk about an Actor Allusion.

It's funny how many black heroes have been made in comics, but many of them don't have mainstream awareness. Monica Rambeau I think would be good at having her own series. I am happy that Black Lightening and Luke Cage have/had their own television series.
I remember Up Up and Away. Was pretty good, though it was more a coming of age, "I'm not what my family wants me to be and that's okay" movie than it was a superhero movie.
I liked how it ended with the kid not getting superpowers in the end and being fine with that.
Disgusted, but not surprisedSo, anyone here knows of Roma? A 2018 drama for Alfonso Cuarón about a Indigenous Maid and the middle class family that she serves. Have to admit that I only learn of it due to the racist outrage caused to seeing a Indigenous Actress suceeding and media praising her (Why a white woman is see as less valuable!—Note: The White actress really didn't even say anything yet everyone is trying to victimize her). Seriously, Yalitza Aparicion have suffered a lot of racist attacks, it don't helps that given that she's mean to be a relatively average poor indigenous person, she really don't meet the regular beauty standards (or in other words, she looks like the poor lady of the market because, well, she is).
Have to admit that I'm still annoyed that Indigenous people are still relegated to Drama stories where we're gonna suffer a lot. But something is something.

Watch me destroying my countryI have seen a number of reactions to Roma, some praising it for uplifting Indigenous narratives, others criticizing it as having a colonialist Poverty Porn portrayal, discussion over its release on Netflix and whether this aids or hinders it’s availability. I have not yet seen the film though.

Because dramas win awards. On the other hand, it would be fun if there was a comedic movie featuring indigenous actors. I mean as they saying" dying is easy, but comedy is hard".
Respect.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. She’s right.
In the next century, the Disney porn will become public domain.
Now is just the calm before the storm.
