I barely ever hear anyone talk about Apple games.

Probably because apple's not really known for gaming, compared to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony. So for most people, Apple Arcade might as well not exist at all.

I only really payed attention to Apple Arcade when it first started because they helped with the development costs for Shantae and the Seven Sirens, in exchange for it being a timed exclusive on the platform.

After that, I've only recently had to acknowledge Apple Arcade again because Sonic Dream Team is exclusive to it.

A pity, because a lot of Apple Arcade games are good. They're just so inaccessible.

I think it’s also because Apple doesn’t really put out any marketing for Apple Arcade.

I think part of the thing is that many console games are not mobile gamers and vice versa. While I think Apple Arcade is a good thing, promoting mobile games that do not have microtransactions in them, to me otherwise it might as well not exist. Not because I have an Android phone, but because I don't game on my phone other than the occasional sudoku puzzle.

TBH, neither would I if all I had was an iPhone as opposed to an iPad. Not to mention as well made as Sonic Dream Team is, it's nearly unplayable with touch controls, so you'd need an external controller anyway.

Here's what I gleaned from the Direct.

• Refind looks interesting
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles qualifies as indie
• There is a new Steamworld and nobody told me.

I hope some of the indie games aren't too hard.

All I really know or have a reason to care about Apple Arcade atm is because that's where the latest Puyo game dropped. I can't play it cuz I don't own any Apple device that could play it, but from what I hear, gameplay's good but could be better, online sucks, lore fans are feasting, this feels oddly familiar.

I've seen the claim out there that if/when Silksong's release is announced, it's more likely to happen in an XBox presentation. If this is true, people expecting it from a Nintendo Direct are setting themselves up for failure.

But maybe that's part of the fun for some people.

In an interview with Game File, Fortnite lead creator Donald Mustard says they wanted a Samus skin, but Nintendo wanted it exclusive to the Switch.

I do believe that was already known from the Epic vs. Apple lawsuit and some documents therein that ended up becoming publicly available during it, but hearing it more officially's still interesting.

Rocket League already had something similar with Metroid and Super Mario cosmetics that would appear differently on other consoles, but that game had a precedent for console-exclusive cosmetics anyways (and this was prior to Epic owning Psyonix, if memory serves right).

From my understanding, the Epic v Apple lawsuit on the Samus skin only has vague reasons for not bringing her in. This is the first confirmation of the real reason.

And I just stumbled across the Gameexplain video for it where it's titled as a dumb reason. They seem to be on a bitter Nintendo kick lately. What, no Switch 2 rumors for them to overactive to?

And this isn't unusual for them. Link was not carried over to Soul Caliber 3 because it was going to be on another console, despite the Nintendo version selling the best.

You should probably stop watching GameXplain tbh. The owner is an ass who mistreats the employees. The old guard left to make Good Vibes Gaming.

I'm lately avoiding Nintendo fan channels in general, because the tiresome rumorology has crept onto all of them.

On a different topic, I'm planning to replay Sunshine on the 3D All-Stars compendium soon, since I've finished 64 on the NSO.

I had never heard any of that!! Hmm, I should check out Good Vibes Gaming.

What I was always annoyed by about GameXplain is how they always turn into GameSpoil the instant something big comes out.

EDIT: Well, Good Vibes Gaming only puts out like a video a week, and not on subjects I find interesting. Guess I'm not switching to them.

I keep forgetting that Gameexplain is a gaming channel, not Nintendo only channel. But they focus 90% on Nintendo, except for those PS 5 videos of "Hey, how does this next Gen game stack against playing it on a 7+ year old hardware?"

I want to read that article but I get blocked by a subscription.

Oh man, Extreme G. I loved that game and would love to revisit.
