Steamworld is an anthology series of video games created by Image & Form. All games depict the adventures of a race of steam-driven robots in a post-apocalyptic steampunk world, with different genres for each game, ranging from action and strategy to role-playing and simulation.

In each game, we play as a different character with their own quest on their own and are separate from one another (except for Dig and Dig 2 which are connected). Though they do all have an overarching plot and shared lore.

The main titles so far are:

  • SteamWorld Dig (2013): A platforming-adventure game where you mine for minerals and gems.
  • SteamWorld Heist (2015): A turn based strategy game.
  • SteamWorld Dig 2 (2017): A follow-up game previously thought to be called SteamWorld Quest was discovered in 2016, initially as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. Shortly before the Switch's launch, however, the creators revealed that "Quest" was actually a working title for the sequel. Set some time after the events of Dig, the sequel casts the player as Dot, a female steambot hunting for the still-missing Rusty.
  • SteamWorld Quest (2019): A card-based RPG reusing the Working Title of the previous game.
  • Steam World Build (2023): An Anno Domini and A Dungeon Is You game.
  • Steam World Headhunter (Development put on hold): A co-op third person action adventure that was announced as the first 3D entry in the series (though Build wound up beating it to the punch).
  • Steam World Heist II (2024): A sequel to Heist set on a pirate-infested sea.
