Well, he’s the Big Bad of that movie, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as this.
It's been 3000 years…Well he is the big G's Arch-Enemy and a three headed Psycho Electro dragon. What's not to love ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Godzilla-adjacent news!
This might probably be just for merchandise, but...
The Twitter for Shin Ultraman announced something called "Shin Japan Heroes Universe"! A four-way crossover between Rebuild of Evangelion (or Shin Evangelion), Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider!
It's some kind of big project, but it all seems rather fishy IMO. For starters, Rebuild of Evangelion already finished last year, we have no clue where we can go with Shin Godzilla given how that ended, and we don't even know how 'Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider'' will turn out.
Regardless, begun, the Shin Universe has!
Sad news, legendary actor Akira Takarada, protagonist of the first film and starring in multiple Godzilla and Toho films, has passed away.
RIP.
I saw a Gorosaurus toy at Target and bought it. I'm actually quite surprised to see a modern toy of him being sold in a store outside of Japan, considering how he's a relatively obscure monster who's only ever been in two movies (excluding stock footage appearances), but I like him enough and the toy is neat. Wouldn't mind seeing him pop up in the Monsterverse in some fashion.
Giving this a bump because I came across something entertaining
someone on tumblr discovered children's picture books themed around Godzilla
Its called 'Godzilla likes to roar'
New theme music also a boxOh, I actually still have that book as well as "Who's Afraid of Godzilla?". Parents bought them for me when I was 4 years old and just getting into the franchise. The artwork is actually really good tbh, more than you'd expect from a pair of books aimed at super young kids. The 2nd one also bought us Facepalming Godzilla, so there's that too.
It been announced that a new Godzilla film releases on November 3rd, 2023.
Funny you bumped this up today, when Godzilla has been trending for hours. Why?
Because Toho just teased a new movie coming out next year.
Also, Godzilla will be joining in the multiplayer kaiju brawler, Gigabash!
Also, today's Godzilla's birthday! 68 years being the king!
I just... I find the word "discovered" there to be really weird. They're not really recent nor that obscure; Monster Island Buddies has a four year old video with 400k views on it for example.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.It was news to me at least
New theme music also a boxSemi-Official fan film Godzilla Vs Gigan Rex released to celebrate the big G's 68th anniversary.
Wonder if we'll see this form of Gigan show up in games and comics in a few years.
I've always found Gigan interesting. You gotta wonder who first took a look at whatever Gigan originally was and thought "You know what this needs? An assload of deadly weaponry!"
Especially if one assumes that Gigan is getting its upgrades from the same people. "Oh your hooks weren't cutting it literally? Okay, have a couple of chainsaws!"
Disgusted, but not surprisedIt's exactly why he's my favorite monster
He looks so fucking cool especially with all those brutal weapons and the insane implications that someone out there is arming a kaiju
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."As for that fan-film...
"Alright, so the same big radioactive dinosaur keeps kicking your ass. How about this time we not only upgrade you even more, we give you your own team of Gigan clones? If that's not enough...well, we'll think of something for next time."
Disgusted, but not surprisedSo, it seems Gamera is finally making a comeback, as a new work called Gamera: Rebirth is coming soon to Netflix. We have a teaser for it right here:
Based on how it's going to Netflix and the teaser is on Kadokawa's anime channel, I'm guessing it'll be an animated project similar to the Godzilla ones Toho has experimented with.
The art looks good at least. Let's just hope it turns out better than those Godzilla anime.
That brings up something funny I noticed, there is barely any videos of the Godzilla anime movie trilogy
Like I tried to find a video of the Ghidorah fight from the Planet Eater film but there is only one actual short video from that movie uploaded.
Everything else is fan-animations made by people disappointed in the movie's depiction of the characters and wanted to make actually cool fights with them.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I really hope Kadokawa Daei goes back to that one Short film that they made a while back if this succeeds.
I think it was this one from New York Comic Con:

Watch SymphogearIt's kind of sad that Gamera gets relatively little love compared to Godzilla. He doesn't even have his own thread here, hence why we post about him in the Godzilla thread.
Disgusted, but not surprisedGamera has his own thread, it just hasn't been posted in for over two years now.
Edit: went and posted the video there.

The Doctor is in.Hey guys, I just wanted to bring up something - I was wondering if anyone else remembered this.
There was like, an online Kaiju database or something with its own story. Almost like a webcomic or something. All I remember about it was Godzilla's son fighting an evil Kaiju called "The Keres". I don't remember much about The Keres' design, except it had a few of them - I think it was a bacterial derived Kaiju that started amorphous, but then gained a form after drinking blood or something from several Kaiju.
Eventually, there was a really out of nowhere ending involving a black hole.
Now, this was during the early days of the internet, so it's probably not around any more. I just wanted to see if anyone else remembered it. Probably a gem of my childhood, and it'd be a pity to see it lost forever.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.
Having just seen the movie (and missing one, apparently ^_^;;), for some reason King Ghidorah was always my favorite of Godzilla’s enemies.
