I have a friend who's blaming casuals for what Capcom has been doing to Fight Money and seasons.

I feel like people are being too quick to jump to the worst possible conclusions over the whole 'no season pass' thing. At the moment, all that can be said for certain is that Capcom isn't so great at communication, which is nothing new. That seems to be a universal truth regardless of whether or not they have good news or bad news, so them being coy and ambiguous isn't a lot to go on. :V

So not only did they cut Fight Money from Shadaloo Soliders, they cut the weekly 2500 FM Challenges. This reeks of pushing the ad content. I think I’ve lost any respect I’ve had for that system.

Same. If it's a complaint about her loli appearance, make it that when she gets into battle, she does a magic agelift into a teenage girl.

As for plot, she can still be a deity though it has to be as subdued as how they subdued what G is and that her plot should be relating to Gill's plans in Street Fighter III.

lets not forget the ads and sponsored content and further reduction of Fight Money, all of this is a possible(keyword being possible) indication that they might announce Street Fighter VI for current gen with a mid 2019 release.

I keep seeing the YMMV page for the game and I ask myself how the stuff with the Fight Money and the lack of a Season Pass this year didn't cause a war within the game and FGC's community.

Capcom ruined the best DLC model a gaming company ever had.

Ingrid had some rights issues about her, which is why she isn't in any of the art books and is no longer considered a SF character. She's in PXZ 2 though, and I THINK the UDON comics having Bison's dead master be female was a reference to her.

"UDON was forced by Capcom to remove her from a Street Fighter poster that featured the entire cast, and had her replaced with Ed. Afterward, she was omitted from the 2017 Street Fighter character popularity poll, which included the EX series cast, as well as other more obscure Canon Canon Immigrant characters (Kevin Striker, Dr. Jose, Shadow, Shadow Lady, Cyber Akuma, Captain Sawada, the Bison Troopers, and the Monitor Cyborgs). This seems to indicate that she's been booted from the series. According to UDON, the decision was made due to problems as to who owns the copyright to be used in a Capcom game. Ingrid makes an appearance in Street Fighter V...as a costume for Karin. This combined with the poll indicates that while Capcom might still own Ingrid, she is no longer considered a part of the Street Fighter franchise, not even as a non-canon character."

Hm. That's a shame. I never had a problem with Ingrid and had a lot of fun with her in the couple of games she happened to be playable in.

Good, dumb loli sue whose whole shtick of being uber powerful was stupid anyway. She didn't belong in SF.

Then make a Captain Ersatz. Worked when SNK made Nameless to replace the Tetsuo-esque K9999. With G and whatever Gill is planning, an Ingrid-esque deity can still work in Street Fighter.

Now that it's been almost a week since the CPT reveal and people have had time to play Kage, my hunch that this'll be seen as a repeat of the beginning of Season 2 is getting stronger, as the general consensus seems to be that Kage is really weird for a shoto but also pretty fun to play. It also seems most folks are willing to forgive his goofy appearance for this reason, just as they did for Akuma's infamous lion-mane (as Maximilian Dood pointed out, PC players can just mod that out :V)

Furthermore, I also get the impression that the balance changes are being well-received, too. I haven't played the game in a while but I'm tempted to go back to it after hearing that Alex has finally gotten some proper buffs. :V

The only person that could dispute Ingrid's inclusion would be Hidetoshi Ishizawa after he jumped ship to SNK

then again it its odd to exclude her from a popularity poll which has EX characters on it

Unless her design and attitude changed recently, Ingrid never struck me as a "loli" character, so the use of the descriptor feels odd? Granted, I only remember her appearances from Fighting Jam and the PSP version of Alpha 3 where she was one of the additional fighters (Eagle, Maki, where are you?), but in both of those games she had the appearance of a teen similar to Sakura and Karin. Add in her odd way of speaking and she's your basic "cute girl but Really 700 Years Old" character.

She didn't came across as someone that never "fit" Street Fighter to me either. I mean, sure I felt her more deliberately mystical/divine powers would've been a bit better for something like Darkstalkers, and she debuted in a crossover game where her abilities wouldn't seem as put of place, but Street Fighter has almost as much weirdness, especially nowadays.

In any case, it sounds less like they can't use her anymore and more like they just don't know what to do with her, so they're putting her on a bus for now.

Still not sure what to make of Kage. Never been all that into Evil Ryu, and this just seems like variation of the same character. Kind of hope we get more interesting characters through the rest of the season.

Glad people are enjoying him though. He still looks fun even if I never plan to get him.

I think Ingrid has the same problem as a few handful of the SFIII cast that because people haven't gotten time to get familiar with her, they think she doesn't fit this game.

I mean, weird characters were around all the way back in II. Blanka anyone? Sure, he is a huge Base-Breaking Character but he is commonly accepted by the SF community.

I bet if Ingrid did return, people wouldn't really be all excited but then probably accept her overtime. Kinda like most did with Abigail.

abigail has the excuse of being a character from Final Fight so has Capcom Seniority more or less and even still he's got his fair share of people who can't stand him lol.

In PXZ 2 Ingrid's shtick was looking and sometimes acting young but also being Really 700 Years Old with a granny attitude at times. Xiaoyu got jealous of her for taking her 'mysterious cute powerful girl' spotlight.

How the heck do you go down the list of iconic Street Fighter characters to put into a crossover and wind up with Ingrid

I mean I know why they picked her

Xiaoyu is from Tekken.

I always get those mixed up XD In that game her source of power or at least part of it was in her hair crests, one of which Bison stole.

I vaguely remember Ingrid having something of a cult following a years and years ago. When first entering the SF fandom/community, my only experience with the character (indeed, my only experience with the character to this day) was running into the occasional fan group.

Ingrid was such a weird thing. It's like they introduce her for the heck of it & nothing else.

Well, maybe if the game she'd been originally meant to debut in hadn't been cancelled, things would be different.
