That thing killed the dinosaurs.
Non Indicative UsernameYeah, but at least it has it has Dennis Leary
Sorry for the double post, but I finally saw the movie and so far my opinion didn't change too much. The movie is the best VG movie, in other words So Okay, It's Average.
It pretty much hit all the Dreamworks cliches. Some of the jokes had me laughing (especially the radar dodging ones), while others are just annoying and, dare I say it, cringeworthy (like the ones that try to work in old sayings, nursery rhymes and fairy tales into dialogue). At least the characters in the movie (mostly the ones who are actual characters in the game) are likable; I honestly hate the Canon Foreigners in this film (wow, that review may have a point on this movie making people hating foreigners of any kind; just not the immigrant kind). And the final act, as much as I enjoy the chaos, really just screams awkward translation of the core gameplay into the movie's plot.
Seriously why are the pigs' buildings boxes stacked like Jengas? Why the pigs show off the slingshot to the birds in the first place and left it when it have nothing to do with their cunning plan to steal their eggs? What's with the birds all having unexplained super powers all of the sudden? Even Red is weirded out by some of these abilities.
And that's the main reason I enjoy Jason Sundeiski performance as Red, most of the time he is just riffting on the film's plot in his role as the Only Sane Man.
If I were to compare this to another film, it would be Ice Age. Both films are pretty average animated films with hidden mature jokes in them. Both features an incredibly cynical protagonist, who does have a Hidden Depth in children and learns to cool it around friends he didn't expect to gain. The villains want to eat babies. The animation look gorgeous. And it stars a cast of known comedians.. So yeah, it's a good movie for when you are bored and have nothing to watch on Netflix.

Red's riffing is the best part of the film, I agree.
Ya, I'm weird like that...You know, I know you made a joke about my third favourite CG movie being Ice Age, but while it's certainly not, I nonetheless unironically enjoyed Ice Age 2, which I believe has gotten something of a bad rap. So hearing that TABM is a bit like Ice Age is somewhat reassuring in that regard. Once I see it, which will probably be many months from now. :V

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."I feel the same way about Dawn of the Dinosaurs, but I can't defend Continental Drift.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I haven't really watched any Ice Age movies since the original, aside from the occasional scene being played on a demo TV at Walmart.

"People always say that you should follow your dreams... so I'm going back to bed" -meSo does that mean Van Hellsing is a hero for white supremacists. Cause like the Angry Birds movie Dracula is made as a tale aimed against foreigners/immigrants.

I thougth Nazis and other extreme Right Wingers hated The Reds.
This is the first time I've ever heard that comparison.
Yeah, I didn't thought anybody will draw such similarities including myself. But thematic wise, they are pretty similar.
They're ba-aack!
1. Good to see Leslie Jones doing voice-over.
2. ... why does Zeta (that's her name apparently) act like the ice is a new thing?? When did it all form? She's frustrated that nothing works properly in that palace but wouldn't see kinda ..... know what... as one of the first things to find out when moving there? I suppose it only recently froze over.

Another trailer:
Not too impressed. The "frenemies" angle of Working Together is so stupidly obvious, the pig straight-out says that in the trailer, and I don't see any original way they could deconstruct it to write it in a new way. This whole thing seems like just a ploy to introduce an ice level in the games, which it probably is.
It may be too early, but The Angry Birds Movie 2, with 11 reviews, apparently has an 82% RT score.
Maybe it's a case of the marketing team doing a sh*t job for the umpteenth time? Again, might be too early.
Is the franchise still popular? I haven't heard much about it in a few years, but then again I don't follow mobile game circles.
Don't you know who directed The Angry Birds Movie 2?
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"AAAAAAADVENTURE!!! It really does explain the B-Plot of the film with the Hatchlings, minus all the comedically disturbing imagery.
But yeah, this is a rare example of a Surprisingly Improved Sequel.
Since Thurop Van Orman was announced as director, I was won. I would definitely watch this movie.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"I cannot use photoshop, but now im just picturing that scene in Monsters inc, just with Nintendo and Rovio.
"Attention everyone. Detective pikachu has become the best videogame movie ever"
- Angry Birds 2 comes out*
"Never mind"
The film is now at 71% on Rotten Tomatoes and 60 on Metacritic. Not bad.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"
Don't be ridiculous. Clearly his third favorite is Ice Age
