That's the reason spoiler tagging trope names is a no-no.

OK, I've labeled the folder Pink Steven (Season 5 spoilers).

DuckTales also fixed.

(On that topic, since it was a group, I would once again like to suggest to the mods that "SPOILER CHARACTERS", plural, should be explicitly forbidden under the policy. As it is now, it's arguably allowed as no character's name is being concealed.)

Three more "Spoiler Character" folders I don't know how to change: Betty de Famme on Ace Attorney: Witnesses and Other Characters - Spirit of Justice since her name gives away that Bonny has an Evil Twin, the real Liv Amara on Big Hero 6 Others (maybe merge with the clone's folder on Big Hero 6 Villains?), and Fi on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Others.

For the first, can the folder be titled just "Betty" + spoiler warning?

No, use her full name like everyone else in the game.

[up] The problem is that her last name is itself a spoiler. This is roughly the same as Dhurke's situation; his last name is omitted within the folder title.

Hot take: all characters pages should just be Spoilers Off.

That's been discussed a ton of times before and there's never been consensus.

There's nothing wrong with spoilers on character pages. When it becomes a lot, spoilers off is often a better choice, with a huge warning up top it's unmarked. If there's two walking spoiler characters, it starts to feel like a necessity.

Another issue is whether to split pages among that, having a set of spoiler characters or not.

BTW, I noticed that the Note function does not work with spoilers correctly. You cannot click the spoiler bit and have it show up. It just closes the Note instead. It'll work under Show Spoilers if you click it as a user option, but that's the only time it isn't an issue.

What if we named folders for spoiler characters after their initials? Like "P.S." for Pink Steven, for example.

That also doesn't fix the self-fulfilling spoiler issue.

If people don't know who a character is, they'd have to peek to see if they can read the folder. And then what's the point of even hiding it?

At that point, I feel removing all spoilers with a label up top is way better. It removes the self-fulfilling prophecy problem.

We can still give the appropriate characters a walking spoiler trope too. Plus, having a page that has spoiler characters while having a page that has regular ones is another potential way to split them. And the one with spoiler characters, well, see my first paragraph. It's not a perfect solution though. The curious will still look at it...

Well, if the page says openly that spoilers are unmarked, people who still get spoiled are the ones to blame. We can't protect everyone.

[up][up][up] It'd still have "spoiler character" after it, or course, though in any case I'm liking [up][up]'s idea.

Spoiler tags on Characters pages have been discussed numerous times, and the result has always been the same: to keep them there.

Unspoiling the single entry with a spoiler warning seems to be the better way to go.

Spoiler tags on character pages is to be discussed on a case-by-case basis. And a mystery game like Ace Attorney is probably one of the cases where it makes the most sense to go spoilers off.

Because this is turning into that discussion yet again, this isn't the thread for debating spoilers on/off for character pages in general. That's been done to death.

For Ace Attorney, I don't see the need for removing spoilers on its pages. The few Walking Spoiler characters can have their spoiler tags removed as mentioned above, but the other characters are all, as Apollo would say, fine.

For murder mysteries, I just don't see why someone would look through the characters page if they didn't want to risk seeing who the killer is.

I haven't played Spirit of Justice yet, so I'm not going to look at that page and see how it handles that issue, but if it just has culprit-exclusive tropes floating around with the description whited out, what's the point of doing that, when merely seeing the trope names spoils that someone is the killer? The opposite is also true; not seeing any murder-related tropes in a folder spoils that the character isn't the culprit.

I'm not saying to make all character sheets Spoilers Off, but murder mysteries specifically have huge Self-Fulfilling Spoiler issues that could easily be solved just by having one big spoiler warning on top of the page and no spoiler tags.

[up]That's settled then. (Incidentally, you were the one who changed it to "Spoiler Character" to begin with, so we're not stepping on anyone's toes.)

Edit: Also Datz's folder should be changed to have his name.

[up]I changed Betty's folder to include her name, but I left Datz as his pseudonym because I'd still rather avoid spoilers in folder titles. Also the reason Dhurke's folder only has his first name is that his last name isn't revealed until after he's discussed quite a bit, unlike Betty.

Spoilers Off just means no spoiler tags, not that we have to spoil everything in the most visible way possible.
