Here's a page with lots of folders for easy tweaking.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I had no idea there was going to be a change to the folders so it was very jarring seeing the change just now. I do like the layout(having the folders side by side) but I think the folders should look like they did before the change and the outlines need to go.

The outlines just give it a distracting, compressed look I do not like. If I am really the only person who feels that way I will drop it. (I realized they were there before but those were dotted lines on only one side)
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesThe spacing seems a bit odd. For example, this page doesn't insert a space between the first set of folders and the label above the second set of folders.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)@Soulucid It's to make things easier for mobile users.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Shanghai Slave (page top), as I understand it the plan was to show Title Text for the entirety of the folder name, but that's not how it's working as of this post (just checked, using Firefox v26 on Win 7).

All your safe space are belong to TrumpWow, these new folders look soooo nice Eddie.
What, do all your phones predominately scroll horizontally? Because it is kind of weird moving the titles on a different axis than the text falls.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesThere should be an option for us smelly luddites who despise change to revert to the original layout. I find the new one very cluttered and I don't think it would work well at all on mobile devices.
I was trying to say exactly that, only politely.

INSIDE OF YOU THERE ARE TWO WOLVES. BOTH OF THEM WANT YOU TO SHOOT ELVIS.Oh, God, it's even worse now that it's gone live. It looks disgusting. Revert! Revert!!
I serve at the pleasure of President Pritchart. Finally! The folders match the colour scheme of the rest of the site.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerBiggest problem for me right now is the character limit. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/BatmanRoguesGallery doesn't look good and I bet a lot of other character pages where aliases are common are also hit hard.
I can kind of understand the reasoning of seeing them all while closed, but as said, it is still weird to me they close on an different axis than the text scrolls. Maybe if I used a phone I would get it but my phone only has a 1x1.5 inch screen at best (2X2.5 if flipped open, maybe) so I don't use the world wide web with it. Its rare internet use rarely extends beyond email or hotspot.

That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesI like the new format, but - and I know this has been discussed before - we need the capability for longer folder titles. It's not just long joke titles that are a problem; take the Kamen Rider Gaim character page as an example. Many characters are identified by both their real name and their Rider title, but in some cases not even just the real name fits. The first two tabs, even ignoring their Rider names, should be "Kota Kazuraba" and "Mitsuzane Kureshima", but they're cut off so that only "Kota" and "Mitsuzane" appear.
I've also seen a small issue where the first tab in a row is above the others instead of being aligned with them; it happens twice on the Gaim page I linked.
But other than that, I like this change.
As long as it doesn't spawn a new breed of tropers whose only existence is to clog my watchlist with editing folder code, I'm game.
I'm using a tablet right now, and it looks cluttered as hell.
Is someone going to fix the character limit or what?

I think it was also meant to have less scrolling.
The Protomen enhanced my life. The more I try to use the new layout, the more contempt for it builds within me. I suggest having the ability to switch between the Classic and Compact layouts from within the Edit Forum Profile page.
Please?
INSIDE OF YOU THERE ARE TWO WOLVES. BOTH OF THEM WANT YOU TO SHOOT ELVIS.Also, if we're going to try and fix the folders to make it easier for mobile users, why not the spoilers? Does anyone else find it annoying to have to copy them onto notepad to read them?
You know, fuck it. I truly disbelieve that I somehow fell on the absolutely perfect configuration for the folders 8 or 9 years ago, but trying to improve things just ain't worth the hassle.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI actually really liked the new folder style. abandoning it doesn't seem like the right way to go, address the issues, and just put it out. The people who are not liking it probably still won't like it, but some people can't be pleased.
It's a good thing our last name isn't Drew, because then you'd be Nancy Drew and I'd be Andrew Drew. -Andy BotwinI honestly find the new style extremely convenient and useful. I don't mind how it looks at all and the current designs look quite inviting to me.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Whoa, easy there. There seems to be a split between those who like the new format and those who prefer the older format anyway, so why not just have the option to toggle between either? That way, you can implement the change you want without completely alienating everyone. And if there are issues people have with the new format, well, those issues should probably be addressed if they're not totally unreasonable. I assume that this isn't something that's been in development for too long, so implementing it as is and taking feedback from people and adjusting accordingly could be a sort of open beta. No need to just go "fuck it" just because some people have issues with it. Hell, even though I personally am not a fan of the new layout, the feedback seemed to be overwhelmingly positive anyway (though with enough dissenting voices to potentially justify being able to toggle between formats), so why not go with it? Come on, man.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
Well, it's implemented now.
looks a bit cluttered due to having little vertical spacing.
increase it perhaps?
also, there seems to be a character limit.
Characters.Frozen has "The Duke of Westelton's bodyguards" cut off.
