I actually had to delete a bunch of "this troper" and first-person narratives from the anime section of the Surprisingly Good English page. Surprised it hasn't been done before.

I was terrible back when I started editing. This Troper, use of memes without explanation, responding instead of repairing, adding Troper Tales...were standards back then as strict as they are now, I definitely would have gotten my ass banned. At least I never tried to trope myself as Brilliant, but Lazy, Insufferable Genius, or Complete Monster.

I am in a sort of strange limbo state where I am simultaneously proud and hateful of everything I have ever done on this site. I confess, I do a lot of learning as I go. I am by no means a professional writer, so I do make more than the occasional flub. I blame this largely on sleepiness, but explanations, not excuses. I believe in honesty, though. So on the off chance that this is a tarp, I will take my medicine like a man. But yeah. All the usual stuff. This Troper, meme-dropping, Critical Research Failure, you name it. I like to think I'm getting better, though.

Anyway, as far as a RECENT flub goes? I put a YMMV entry in Olympus Has Fallen under Critical Research Failure that South Korea's leader is a President, not a Prime Minister. Well, wouldn't you know it, they have a Prime Minister, too. I believe my exact words when I found out were "They have both? Who has both?!" I erased it soon after, and I still appreciate the irony of it whilst rubbing my head from my combination headdesk/facepalm.

Edit: Also, lame jokes. Really lame jokes...

I'm cautious about editing and always double check the page to make sure there are no flags. I HAVE flubbed before, mainly in putting a Paranoia Fuel entry on a main page, instead of in YMMV. I caught it immediately and moved it myself.

That said, most of my issues are in the forums. Nothing the Mods would tag as rule breaking, just shitty posts that people jump on and correct. Consider it me conceding defeat when I switch topics or stop posting.

If I ever see the words "Brilliant, but Lazy" again...

I'm tempted to add it to your page now. :P

Launched a useful notes page without even asking for a YKTTW

Forgot: I also put up several HONF (back when it was HONF) images unilaterally. Not the worst of sins, since the pages were imageless at the time, but still.

When I wrote my Lion of Farside page, I apparently posted a YMMV entry on the main page. Someone named TV Rulez#1 or something took that down. I'd apparently also put it in the YMMV section already, so who knows what that was about.

When I started editing...ugh...I was weird...actively nattering MY OWN enteries.

I launched someone else's YKTTW. I don't know if that's wrong or not, but I sent an apology to the writer of the YKTTW, they were cool with it. I also used to post regularly on Troper Tales. I never really nattered, because I found it weird to talk about myself in 3rd person.

That just makes me wonder if we've had any Tropers who actually deserved that title.

...Besides that guy who broke all those pencils.

Hahahaha, oh, my sides.

I somehow managed to slightly derail the WTF Fanfiction thread after making a comment on how an excerpt I found would've made sense if birds had penises (don't ask, just look at the post). The rest of the posts on that page involved bird genitals.

I'd just like to believe that at some point over the last few years, someone's thought to themselves: "You know, after I finish chopping up my girlfriend and putting her in a chili for the church potluck, I should tell TV Tropes about it. Can't be too specific, though. Got to maintain that air of mystery. Ooh, speaking of that, I should add Badass Longcoat, too."

I used to write Buffy and link it to "BtVS" which used to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because I saw other people do it. It doesn't anymore (it's a locked page now), so all those are linked to an empty page now.
