Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

I agree, the TLP process is broken. I'm kind of sad that the thread dedicated to brainstorming how to fix it was locked before War Jay got a chance to chime in.
If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.I feel like I've said this before a lot, but it seems like one of the most obvious fixes would be to just make bombs... have literally any tangible effect.
All of these reforms have come up many times. Is there any plan to implement them at some point? I know the devs have a lot going on, but it's be nice to know whether these are on some sort of list to be done.

"It's just a show; I should really just relax"I agree. We keep discussing all these glaring flaws with the TLP, but nothing is being done about it as far as I can tell...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFixes to TLP are in the development queue, but we have more urgent functional issues to address first.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"If I may ask, are our current suggestions for improvement part of the queue, or just the ones from the previous thread?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI can respect that there are more important issues to be dealt with first. The issue about the empty Salvage List and the YKTTW History, which I had speculated that they used the old YKTTW name, is a mere minor inconvenience that I can bear with it.
The positive I have is that I have a lesser burden on how many drafts I have grabbed.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔YouTube Rewind is currently a stub. I wish I could add more tropes, but I'm currently at school and I can't watch it.

^^^^ May I ask what those urgent functional issues are that block the dev team?
I'd like to know, too, please. Pardon us if the inquiry seems rude.

If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight. My first guess would be that they're related to the numerous glitches being reported, but maybe there's something else even bigger, I guess.
In any case, I don't mind waiting in line as long as changes to the TLP are eventually made, and that they're changes that'll actually help rather than just, say, bringing the tags back.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOkay, this is a lot less pressing than the other multitude of TLP issues, but may I take a moment to discuss my issue with the TLP search function? So I type in "Fire", right? The results are: "Pre-Char Gen Gameplay", "Neutral Nice", "Boom In The Hand", "Protection Racket", etc. This is basically just the first page of the TLP when viewing drafts normally, and it's almost completely useless for finding things— none of these drafts even have anything to do with fire, except that maybe possibly the word "fire" is somewhere written on the page of the draft, but you'd think the title and laconic would be the first things searched, right? I don't know, I know it's a lot less important, but it grinds my gears and I felt like I should bring it up.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAdd to that the inability to include nuked TLPs in the search, which caused a lot of trouble when we tried to find the draft for the recently unlaunched Beacon Of Hope, because nobody thought of grabbing the URL for the draft before the unlaunching was done. I was just lucky to have eventually thought of searching through my browser history.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Ability Mixing (draft) launched by someone who participated from the draft but was not the grabber.
ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔^ I'm not sure if that's a problem or not. I do of course believe that the sponsor/grabber should ultimately be the one to launch, but this also isn't a rogue launch...
Anyway, I'm smelling shenanigans with Immesurable Crime. It somehow already has four hats when it's not launchworthy by any stretch of the imagination. (again this kills me because hatting/bomb reasons would fix this issue, but I'll duct tape my mouth shut for now because we've been over this)
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness- Perhaps so. A participant can launch a tropeworthy draft, it's just that a participant launching a draft without asking permission to the sponsor/grabber first is just alarming to me. I need to reevaluate myself again on this, especially that I'm reading the letter of the rules and not the spirit of it. It felt like I'm gatekeeping, and it's not good on my part, especially on this recent wave of nonparticipants launching drafts. I guess I should handle my own drafts instead of dampening the fun of others. The only thing I should do now is to report anomalies like launching sprees.
- The draft you mentioned. Sockpuppets? Also, it now has 5 hats and 10 bombs.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔I'm convinced it's socks. I also mentioned this on ATT but haven't gotten a response about it yet.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWhy is it unlaunchworthy?
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Assuming you're referring to Immeasurable Crime, it has two examples and no description.
That and the examples ain't even categorized by medium. It fails at everything and the comments don't even know if its an okay trope.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMagical Eye Streamers was very recently launched. I've gone over its description, and... well, does it have to be always an indication of magic, as the name and first couple of lines in the description say? Because if you replace "magic" with generic "abnormal power", then the description would perfectly fit the example of the Zone in Kuroko no Basuke, a Super Mode based on an exaggeration of a real-life phenomenon where the super-talented basketball players that enter it are visually signified by trailing "lines" of color-coded electricity (which are generally taken to be just a metaphorical representation of their elevated state of performance, given the absolute lack of anything blatantly or even implicitly supernatural in the work).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Edited by Mickoonsley19 on Dec 21st 2018 at 12:14:53 PM
That's my stance too, but my biggest concern is the unnecessarily specific name. Eye Streamers Of Power is a perfectly serviceable alternative (plenty of Power's subtropes have that name structure, and this seems an obvious shoe-in as another one), so I was thinking of unlaunching and then relaunching the trope under that name.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I don't see it as that big of a deal either way, honestly. Do what you feel you need to.

The bomb dialogue says the purpose of bombs is to cancel out hats that you think the draft doesn't deserve. Maybe they should actually do that.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
