In my opinion, Miyazaki broke the mold by doing that. Without him, I'd expect the series to have died off in the early 1970s. By turning the Seinen series into a young Shonen series, he proved that the characters were vibrant enough to be used in any sort of demographic or rating. From G to MA, and even X. Limiting the franchise to just "kiddy stuff" or "adults only" fails to account for the many different types of stories that it can be used to tell.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yeah I'm pretty sure the other TV shows were generally considered family entertainment. It's just that family entertainment by Japanese standards is totally different than it is by American standards.
We're getting a fifth series, this time set in France.

All I'm wondering is which color his jacket's gonna be.
I hope there will be many shout-outs to Leblanc's original stories of his grandfather (and maybe even a couple of updated adaptations).
I also assume that they're doing this series so soon due to the success of the Blue Jacket series. Which means that TMS is probably trying to secure a strong fanbase in France, unlike what happened in Italy, where there was already a long-standing and strong fanbase (Italy does seem to have the largest and most dedicated fanbase in the West, US notwithstanding).
As for the future Jacket: hmmm, I'm thinking of a black Jacket , as a nod to the predominant colour of his grandfather's iconic outfit.
I'm even thinking that there'll probably be at least one episode where he's gonna wear his grandfather's outfit.

I can't really recall a blue jacket. ^_^;;
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. It's the most recent series. Very much worth watching.
[Shouldn't the Blue Jacket series/Italian Adventure be also categorized as Anime? Why does it have the Western Animation category?]

Oh yeah, I have seen that. :)
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Because the first release of each episode was in Italy, which by this site's standards makes it Western Animation.
Also in that announcement? France is officially calling it "Lupin III" for the first time!!!
I'm pretty sure that the Italians like Lupin more than us Americans. I see more fan-created Lupin III from Italy than I do from my own country. Like the two or three fanmade live action short films.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I'm aware of that. I was referring to the TV shows, not the manga.

I think I disagree with your sweeping statement, for reasons already given. If you could be more precise, I would understand your position better.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I'm not certain what exactly it is you're arguing.
I gave a pretty detailed response to ~kyun's claim that all of the Lupin III anime were for the adult demographic. My conclusion was that "Limiting the franchise to just "kiddy stuff" or "adults only" fails to account for the many different types of stories that it can be used to tell."
You then linked What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?, seemingly making the claim that every series was for the children demographic. I... already provided some evidence that Part 1 changed demographics partway through production.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I wasn't. I was referring to the ones other than the Woman Called Fujiko Mine.
Then you dispute the following:
The fan identifying themselves as Candylemon has completed an English subtitled version of all of the Zenigata Keibu episodes. Has anyone heard about an official English translation yet?
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Your thoughts on the new Toonami OP song for Lupin III Part IV?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I only got to know about this today, but anyway: Lupin III Gets 50th Anniversary Project With Monkey Punch as Chief Director:
[...]
"Lupin wa Ima mo Moeteiru ka?" is an updated reference to the title of the first Lupin III television episode, "Lupin wa Moeteiru ka?" The anniversary work's image visual◊ above shows Lupin in a blue and white helmet and racing suit, just like the ones he wore in that first episode.

I believe it's a remake of the first episode of Lupin III Green Jacket.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. We haven't discussed ANOTHER NEW LUPIN SERIES!
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I thought we did. I even gave my thoughts and speculations on the upcoming series.
(Though there's a probability that they'll just keep the blue jacket for this one, looking back at my post)

Maybe they could go with a Yellow Jacket for this series.
New trailer for Part V:
It looks like he's keeping the Blue Jacket for this ride.
Looks like fun. :)
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.
Well... ALL Lupin III series' are meant for adults. But Fujiko Mine is meant for tougher adults who like more serious entertainment.
