It's just pretty superfluous, though it's not necessarily against the rules.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI say keep the potholes, as they describe the characters and don't hurt anything.
Keet cleanupThey hurt something, in my opinion. :-) I think it's distracting.
When you go to a character page, you're not interested in being linked directly to one trope page.
I got to the page during some cleanup, and I actually thought it's one of the pages where one character has a separate page.
Also, sometimes a character is really defined by one dominant trope, but it rarely is. Characters are always a combination of tropes. For example on the page I linked, two characters are potholed to Spoiled Sweet. Reading the example context for the actual characters, one was misuse and the other a zero-context example.
It's safe to assume there are several inaccuracies.
VideoGame.Granny has been patched up by some user who was trying to fix the "Zero Context Examples". However, most of them I feel have some context in them. I would like a dispute.

Content Warning: My posts may involve my actions dealing with R-rated or Not Safe for Work content. Same for my edit history. Those examples are correctly commented out. The page has really been fixed. Some context is not enough. The trope has to be explained well and in full, not just half of the trope or just mention a name of some character. Please read Administrivia.Zero Context Example.
This is the only example from the page that I think might be un-commented as it is.
- Enfant Terrible: The Child of Slendrina, who can already eat meat (and humans) at an early age.
That's explained fairly well, though it would be best if the example context mentioned the child's age.

Hmm, I think Apocalyptic Log and Cruel and Unusual Death are pretty decent, if maybe some re-writing needed on the latter one to focus only on the cruel death mentioned.
But otherwise, yeah. Partial Context is just as bad as no context at all.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe whole "character name-to-trope pothole" thing can be discussed elsewhere. Right now, I attempted a bit of Cross Wicking for the newly created page on Sesamstraße, the German version of the, as of today, 50-year-old Sesame Street. For Beary Friendly, I was having trouble adding context for some entries in the Puppet Shows folder, so I hope what I did was sufficient:
- The Muppets
- Fozzie Bear from The Muppet Show. He is a pal to Kermit and other Muppets, as well as having his own comedy routine.
- Bobo from Muppets Tonight. Although larger and with a more intimidating role as security guard, he's just as big a softie as Fozzie, if not more so.
- And from Sesame Street, there's Baby Bear.
- The German Sesame Street coproduction Sesamstrasse has Samson, an Expy of Big Bird.
- The Canadian version used to have Basil, who was a polar bear.
- Bear from Bear in the Big Blue House is incredibly friendly, while Ojo, a cub who lives with him (who may or may not be related) is a sweet adorable little kid.
- The Muppets:
- Debuting in The Muppet Show, Fozzie Bear is a pal to Kermit and other Muppets, as well as having his own comedy routine.
- Deubting in Muppets Tonight, Bobo, although larger and with a more intimidating role as security guard, is just as big a softie as Fozzie, if not more so, as he remains friends with the other characters.
- Sesame Street:
- In the original American show, there is an entire family of bears that are on friendly terms with the other residents of the namesake street, but Baby Bear is given the most focus, in particular having a very strong friendship with Telly Monster.
- The German co-production Sesamstraße has Samson, a large teddy bear who is friends with the other characters and is a child in spite of his size and voice.
- The Canadian co-production Sesame Park had Basil, who was a polar bear that was friends with the other characters.
- Bear from Bear in the Big Blue House:
- The titular main character, Bear, is incredibly friendly, acting as a father figure to both the audience and the other residents of the house.
- Ojo, a cub who lives with Bear (who may or may not be related) is a sweet, adorable little kid.
I wonder if the description could be buffed, though, to explain how this is a legitimate trope and not just People Sit on Chairs.

Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Which thread do you suggest? I'd be happy to repost and seek more opinions. I thought this is very relevant to the ZCE issue because it's exactly the core of the problem: An editor sticks one trope to a character without explaining how or why the character fits the trope, and others have limited options to check if it's actually accurate.
Create a new one in Wiki Talk, where you shall face my Wall of Text.
Are my edits to Beary Friendly sufficient, though? I want to make sure they're at least good enough to let you see how the trope fits.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! How about taking it to the Character Page Cleanup thread?
Keet cleanupI commented out a number of examples on Yuri Fan (and deleted one that was violating multiple rules and needed to be rewritten or deleted), so if someone wants to review my work, feel free.
My troper wallLooks good to me
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAbout the potholes: I'm having a Sansa Stark moment: "I just realized... I don't care." (Nah, I still care but not enough to repost. Perhaps later. Arguments for removal: it's distracting; it's reductive; it's potentially inaccurate; arguments for keeping it: it's good for wiki-walking; it increases number of wicks.)
The new write-ups for Beary Friendly look good. For some reason, I'd include colours of the puppets. Are they white polar bears? Good ol' brown ones? Or are they kinda wacky, perhaps pink or orange?
I expanded on the top folder in Characters.Metroid Space Pirates, fixing zero context examples and examples that could use more context, as well as commenting out those I thought might be misuse or I otherwise couldn't expand on, but got tired of after that. I know for a fact that there are more problematic examples including ZC Es in the other folders if someone wants to go through them.
My troper wallFirebreather has a lot of ZCEs.
Keet cleanupJust commented-out some ZCEs on Garfield and Friends.
The things in my dreams wish they could chase me!Funny.Other, under Nature. Plenty of ZCE entries. A lot of simply listing the animal, some with weasel words attached...
Done, with a hidden note explaining the deletion.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportPersonally, I'd rather just nuke the whole section. I know that Funny Moments isn't No Real Life Examples, Please!, but this isn't valuable.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! Most of the examples under the Music section of One-Woman Wail don't have context. Is there a way to write them differently?
It will usually be in the form of "(Work) has a woman wailing about/when/because (subject or context)." That's all we need on a trope page.note
Obviously, if we know why the creator put a One-Woman Wail in the work, we can add that too, but it's not a requirement.
Creator.Hector Hugh Munro has...quite a lot of ZCE entries. I'll try commenting as much out as I could.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWe got a motherload of ZCEs over at Characters.Pretty Cure Full Color. May have to migrate examples with context to the work page and chainsaw the whole thing.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportBack in June, Lolsnake9 uncommented seemingly all the ZCEs on Bishōnen.
Keet cleanup
I say remove them. You'll find information on these characters on those pages, not to mention that potholing character names to tropes is a pet peeve of mine despite it being explicitly permitted (How to Write an Example).
