Hm, to be honest, I still think it'd be fun to maybe see an Odyssey expansion that turned some locations from prior games, and maybe spin-off series, into Odyssey-style levels. You could use Subcon, Sarasaland, Isle Delfino, DK Isle, Yoshi's Island, and Diamond City to start with, perhaps. ^^

The best version of sunshine would be where you can collect any 70 shine sprites, in whatever order instead having to collect the first 7 shines of every level. Also, keep the blue coins, that way if someone gets stuck on a level they can just go back and get some blue coins for extra shines.

Keep the Blue Coins but add in some kind of function to keep track of them and detect where they are. That's all you really need to do to fix 'em.

@asterism: People think that mission's difficult? I wouldn't know; I could never even attempt it due to how terrifying it was. At least 64 didn't force you to face Unagi.

That and/or make it so that Blue Coins are the currency that you have to pay in order to unlock secret levels.

How about a full blown "reamagining" ala ratchet and clank (ps4) keep some levels, make some easier, add the rest of the islands maybe with fludd upgrades like for an example the crab ilsand can have a fire fludd or the turtle ilsand can have a lightning fludd. Also each ilsand can have a different culture, just how isle delphino is based off of italian culture, maybe the same can be said with the other islands? How about each ilsand can have a special yoshi gimmick? Idk. Essentially each island will be a different 120 star mario game. Idk

Announcing Super Mario Maker 2 right now seems like a bad move. NSMBU Deluxe just came out. I bet many are just going go wait for SMM 2 now.

Isn't it not coming out until June? I've already gotten Deluxe and beaten both Mario and Luigi modes 100% before the end of February. I don't think the timing is going to be an issue.

Hey, here's that Mario Maker level I've been telling y'all about.

I think I might've made it a little too easy. Usually, I shoot for "normal" difficulty, but all my old levels wound up under "expert." I hope I didn't overcorrect.

Anyhoo, if anyone wants to play it and maybe shoot it a star so Nintendo doesn't delete it, that'd be rad.

Ross O'Donovan (from Game Grumps) thinks Mario Maker 2 will have co-op based on the fact that Luigi is in the cover art. That would be pretty dope.

In Mario Bros 3, why did all the underground levels look like they were made of snow or ice? Like, in this image◊ the texture is blue/white, which to me, makes it seem like he's in an ice world. It's not like this in Mario All-Stars, where all the underground levels◊ look like they take place in the dirt. Except for the World 6 underground levels,◊ which do look like they take place in the ice/snow.

I always did find that weird myself. On the bright side, it allowed me to make a fire/ice level in Mario Maker 1 without technically having an ice skin.

I remember when Super Princess Peach was announced everyone was really excited.

And then as more information was revealed about it it devolved into nothing but PMS and Dildo jokes.

And now nobody cares about it at all one way or the other.

Which is a shame, because I honestly found it pretty fun and would've liked to see the sequel it was clearly leading up to.

I actually like the Blue Coins, its just they need a counter for which mission's still have coins available alongside a world total.
