I mean its easier to root for Sieg because Demonic Possession fueled the worst of his crimes while Pat was manipulated into them while he was in full control of his mental faculties.

No...as far as we know.

But there was the Patricide. Hell, he attacked his father's caravan because his gang was punishing so called deserters from war, and considering that his dad probably wasn't that—again, as far as we know—Sieg could have easily killed a lot of dudes who weren't that guilty.

Eh Pat was a smug prick so fuck him.

Siegfried killed his father (unknowingly in that case) and the other deserters because it's seriously looked down upon to go awol in war time. From there he went crazy from what he'd done and the plot treats him like the crazed serial killer he is.

Patrokolos is just some arrogant asshole who we're expected to sympathize with.

If it's just that you don't like him, that's totally fine.

But it doesn't really shut down the point made about how Sieg got a chance to fix his mistakes, while Pat won't.

He was the leader of a group of bandits/gang called Schwarzwind. We can assume his father wasnt his first offense.

I guess another major difference is well.. Seigfried's Bad End (aka the end of his route in SCIV) is non canon while Pat's route... is. Which kinda sucks because while seigfried can be waved off as non canon AU pat cant rub that stink off even if it does get undone in the timeline.

Pat believed his mom was killed by malfested, was raised at a time where malfested were a political buzzword (thanks gran dumas aka knightmare in disguise) and joined up to fight against whoever had such a target....which unless you are really corrupted you cant really tell the difference. (See: Maxi, Ivy, Kilik, Tira, etc)

Sorry to crash in your wonderful plot discussion, but I just gotta say...

I had the chance to try out Soul Calibur VI demo build. I don't think we had Talim in that build yet, but from the look it, it's pretty solid and great all around. Yeah, forgetting about the sanctity of the 'anti-DLC' movement, it is a good game, as far as VS goes.

Story... well, probably that'll have to wait.

.... wait shit if the leak shows the final character for the full roster (which is super likely the game comes out next month) then Lizardman isnt in the base roster....damn. Oh well, time to reserve the dlc.

I'm assuming all the characters from Talim onward will be in that leaked build that Melbourne got by accident. When Namco decides to start using that build for demos, nobody knows.

They've streamlined the cast for story purposes and popularity, which is great, but they've also left a lot on the table in terms of play styles. Maybe DLC or a follow up game set more firmly in the 2-4 time frame will include more of those characters?

I do like Patroklos, but I ain't gonna defend a single thing that awful character did, he really deserves all of it :p

I know because I only started liking him at around the latter half/end of the story, in the early/first half I hated him just as much as anyone else would. He'll probably never return, but if he were then he'd need a boatload of work to make up for that terrible first appearance.

For some it's too little or too late, or that 'fix' depends on so much DEM that it rang hollow.

That said, I just returned from the tourney. Didn't win a thing, but had a lot better performance than some others like the ASW games (though Cross Tag was at least one where I had better performance than BB mainline games). I think the build I played didn't have Voldo yet. It has Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Groh, Kilik, Xianghua, Maxi, Nightmare, Siegfried, Taki, Ivy, Geralt.

That said... now I don't get it. What the hell is wrong with Kirk Thornton's performance as Siegfried? When I hear it, he was doing really good and I can hear that he's doing a good impression on Nobuyuki Hiyama's iconic battle cries... And yes, he wasn't REALLY that nasally as the YMMV article said.

Granted, I left Soul Calibur scene when Roger Craig Smith took over Siegfried, so I didn't know how to really compare, but... Well, Kirk certainly isn't Crispin Freeman, but he's doing a good job. So why is he considered a downgrade again?

All these people having serious discussions about plot and stuff, and here I am just bummed that it looks like Cassandra won't be in.

Wait does that mean Natsu has a chance of being in the game?

Because I think that's actually a good idea, since it was such a silly thing that the character she was meant to be a foil to never actually showed up in her debut game.

Sure, why not? I just don't like Other Darrin in general.

That list just show how badly the SC V cast failed to make any impact. I'll still be down for them returning regardless.

....are you serious...? SCV takes place after a 17 year time skip. Most of the new characters arent even born yet. Seriously the stretching on the SCV spite is unbelievable...

I don't hate the cast of V.

I thought Lexia was the best successor & I still think Pyrrha underrated & under appreciate.

If anything else, I'm more annoyed how many times people dismiss V's cast & talk like there's nothing salvageable about them. The only one I hate is Patroklos & even then I'm willing there to give him a chance. If I can have an 180 reaction on Kratos then under the right people I can do same with Patroklos

As someone who does like Patroklos, it'd take quite a lot for the general audience to even consider giving him another chance, he's that hated and the hate is that justified.

I liked Leixia and Pyrrha deserved much better, honestly. They should have switched places between her and her scrappy brother. Patroklos REALLY would have made a very beliavable host for Inferno.

Yeah overall I liked Pyrrha and grew to like Lexia. Honestly it would be cool to see Pyrrha end up in the past just to see her interact with the other characters. That and she would certainly be happier with her mother around.
